@@RippSnortin Definitely working! Hey, My unit heater is working intermittently meaning, the heater cuts off after 3-5 minutes of proper operation and the shuts down. I wait a few minutes, relight and starts and repeats the same cycle. Was yours doing the same or was yours not lighting at all?
@@RippSnortin hmmmm. Glad you were able to fully resolve this issue. And yes, I’ve ordered a replacement thermocouple from Amazon and additionally, because of the gas line routings, I hafta tear down my machine to almost nothing in order to remove the thermocouple assembly, but my machine is about 20 ish years old lol. ThankYou
So i get a pilot, but the thermocouple seams to not want to let the heater switch to "OK" mode to allow the gas to light the ceramic plates. Is there a part# for just the thermocouple? as that entire thing for my model is $45-50!! Heater cost me under $100 on sale! Or maybe there is a wayt o bipass it? I called and the lady on Support said to try and use a lighter to light it. Which doesnt work as the thermocouple doesnt let gas flow unless it reaches a specific temp...I forget why that is, but likely some safety feature?
Did you change the parts or are you trying to make the old parts work. I did that for a while and it worked. Just get a qtip and some rubbing alcohol and clean down in the hole where the gas comes from. On Amazon the thermocouple and pilot come as a set for 25 bucks.
For my model its $45, MH18B model. WHat I did was take out the thermocouple and remove the spring, so now I dont need a thermocouple, so now I dont have a pilot safety, as doing that kills the feature. But now works very nicely.@@RippSnortin
Great instruction video! Less than 5 minutes to watch, and told me only what I needed to know. No fluff. I like it.
Glad it helped
Very good explanation. I wish it actually recorded the replacement. Thank you for your help.

This is for the portable buddy heater, not the Big Buddy heater. Might want to rename the title to clarify that. Also, unloosen = tighten.
Or, maybe, search BIG buddy, if that’s what you’re looking for..wonderful video.
He didn't claim it was the Big Buddy, so what's your complaint?
@@catherineostrom7575 I have none...
Mr. critical make your own video 😂.
They want 26 bucks for the pilot assembly I can buy a new heater for $60 off eBay
I hate be picky, but “unloosen” means to tighten.
I'm illiterate what can I say?
