I think that you have made the most informative video of how to troubleshoot, and problem solve issues with the Mr Buddy heater yet. Thank you, and God bless you always brother 🙏

You also have a video where a line had oil residue or something else in it ,in which you cleaned it out . I've shared it and this one alike in my forum.in which someone is greatly appreciative for the other one.

I've had the problem of the flame going out on 2 Buddy heaters and my trailer stove. It usually happens after running out of propane and having to change the tank. I've learned that if I turn the pilot light on and then turn it off and waited at least 10 minutes they would work fine after that. I assumed it had something to do with the propane pressure being off the accumulated oil in the lines and needing a little time to resituate itself. Eventually both my buddy heaters did completely fail but it bought me quite a bit of time. Also, the Mr Heater site says their 10-foot hose is the only one that doesn't give off oils.

Thank you! I NEEDED this info in detail and you covered it exactly so I could understand why my heater kept turning off.

I'm using my Big Buddy heater for the first time as my furnace decided to stop working during this awful cold snap we're having. Thank you for this video, I learned so much about how my heater works, how to care for it and what to look for if it experiences some problems. Also, good on you for supporing the Asher House!

After 30hrs I finally got my home furnace working again! My Big Buddy saved my house from frozen and burst lines by running in the basement full blast the entire time! Now I’m able to learn how to properly maintain it for future use. I’m more than happy to subscribe to this gentleman’s channel.

QTip down the pilot light hole it takes a while but the pressure of the propane will push the oil to the pilot hole tear off some of the fluff and stick it down the hole and keep repeating till your qtip comes out without oil on it!!! And blow it out with a pair compressor and buy the oil catch filter

So let me guess here, under low ox levels the pilot flickers which then drops out the main valve. ( My Buddy is working fine, but enjoyed watching you take it apart Doc. ) Also I am believing you are a dentist, you removed that thermocouple connection just about the same way my dentist removed one of my bad teeth many dental dollars ago. Stay warm my friend.

I had a problem with a big buddy heater and I was using the filter, but I used a hose that I bought from Canadian tire. After 2 months it was clogged and the filter was full. I was wondering if it was all from the hose or if there was contaminants in my propane?

Is this part compatible with the smaller buddy heaters, also? I own two of them. I'm trying to make sure I have extra parts put back in case of a problem. I already have a stack of filters and extra hoses.

It's called a thermocouple. It as you mention detects heat. In this case fire / flame. Thue allowing the fuel / propane to flow.. heat / flame.. fuel.. no heat no flame no fuel.

$30 for the part and 2 hours for the repair,
we are hopeful this will make the unit work.
If the unit is for that 4 year of use,
    Buy a new unit instead,

I have a sanau designed for 20 lb tank. First tank ran fine, but 2nd tank it began to do the same thing. Is it repairable?

How often should you replace a regulator when you're heating off of a 100 lb tank outside on a wall heater?
