Quick question, found a 2022 KTM Duke 200 and a 2015 CB300F for the same price. Which one would be better for a 40 year old brand new rider?
Depends on your riding style! if you need a papier machine that should be quick on corners, have an aggressive nature (throttle response) then go for Duke 200, if you are looking to go distance without any fatigue and need a good commuter than go for Honda!
@@GearheadOfficial Going to be using it to drive to work, which is only like 6 - 8 minutes away from my house, and maybe cruise around town on the weekends. Just been searching for a few months now and those was the two that stand out and actually for sale in my hometown. Appreciate the response.

Why i should buy this 200 cc. And not 250cc duke ?
Bigger "CC" motorcycle is better for obvious reasons like better performance, I would say if you don't have any budget problem you should probably go for 250, on the other hand Duke 200 is lighter in weight, will give you more mileage and will cost you less.
D200 has more raw feel to it than duke 250. Duke 250 comes between 200 and 390 which is pretty stable and you'll feel the power delivery being linear unlike its sibling. Duke 250 will excel in the top end and mid range. It does have a great initial but it does not scare you like the duke 200 and duke 390. Now talking about service cost. Duke 200 service will cost you around 1000 to 1600 depending on state and how you ride the bikes it can be cheaper. Duke 250 will cost a little more but you won't regret it. Duke 200 weigh 156kg kerb weight but duke 250 weighs 171kg kerb weight. Now if you want to use duke 250 for daily use I'd say find routes to your college/office which has less traffic. You won't have to worry about these problems when you own a Duke 200 due to its less weight flickability and compact handle you will zoom through traffic as if you were flash. Duke 200 before first service will give you an average around 25 to 23 km/L. Duke 250 will give you slightly less it all depends on how you ride it.
MY ADIVCE - Don't ride bike above 6k rpm and above 40km/hr till you get your first service done.
WHY you might think to yourself. Well after you get your first service you will see engine shreddings(completely normal) let your bike get used to the engine let the piston get used to riding even with good technology we don't have to engine break till 1k kms or not engine break at all but do it for your sake and trust me you will have a great engine after that first service.
Things to remember while buying a duke 200
1 - Chain clean and lube every week use motul or Liqui Moly Chain cleaner and lube.
2 - Use microfiber cloth to clean or wash your bike.
3 - Make sure you keep changing the coolant of your bike.
4 - If you hear tappet noise get it fixed as fast as you can because duke 200 is a high compression engine you don't want the heat to stay in the valve for too long which will cause dark spots on piston.
RIDE with helmet and gloves compulsory Not because people will call you a chapri. But the bike is no joke. It can take you to moon and then to god if you fuck around too much with it.
IF You think there are a lot of duke 200's chapris in your area get a duke 250(BUT it still won't work because the new d200 comes with LED HEADLAMPS)
GOODLUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY. Please do check out gixxer250 if you want to go for a duke 200 its way better and much more fun to ride. it will only cost you 10k more but will have more fun on it and the pillion seat is comfortable with great mileage(32-34 in city) that even the duke 200 won't give you after riding it hard.

@@Ritez_ So glad I could help yes I do have a lot of knowledge about bikes I've driven most of them. I always speak from experience not from spec sheet. I can't start blogging. I'm in first year Btech Computer Science. If you need help just tag me here. And when you go to take delivery of bikes please check for rusting, engine noise, rust on the exhaust the one that come out of the engine check meter, gear, check all the buttons. If found any one of these things to be faulty they fix it for free. And ask them if they are going to give you free accessories. I got my friend a free helmet while buying an r15 v4. If you live in Pune most of the dealers will give you one. On your way to your house watch out of tyre puncture scammers. Now that you've bought the bike peacefully at home get a PPF on tank to avoid getting scratches. Don't start doing mods on your bike all of a sudden maybe chaining mirrors and installing a new Lever guard will do. Wait for the bike to tell you which mods it need in terms of performance. And name your bike give it a good name like Mia . Akito. Vaishnavi. Zoya. Zoe just to make your bike live in your memories for long time. Also follow some channels that teach you about bikes LIKE SR MOTOWORLD. and follow channels if you are a piston head like Motor Inc(you would love these guys.)
