Everyone kept hyping this up as a modern Polo replacement, which it could have been since it's dynamics are well sorted. Too bad Tata can't let go of the pathetic Revetron while Suzuki, Hyundai and Mahindra themselves are already using GDIs in their cars. Packaging wise the car is pretty good especially R1 varient at 9.5 Lakhs which comes loaded with all necessities. But the Racer theme with the ugly Racing stripes and Blacked out bonnet are overdone and ruins the elegant design of Altroz.
Only 10 year old kids who judge the performance of a car from 0-100 figures call revotron engine pathetic. 10 year old kids think its easy to buy a lamborghini but when they grow up they will end up buying a Tata or Mahindra only....
The main thing with the Revotron is the way it has been designed. The 1.2 Revotron engine has 77mm bore and 85mm stroke. Which means it's a long stroke engine. Long stroke engines have low end torque but they are never meant to extract performance as they rev up slowly. And the altroz/punch does have that low end drivability. One can pick up speed from 20 kph at 3rd gear with AC on and the car won't judder. But this long stroke nature comes at a cost of vibrations and slow revving nature which is not something you want in a performance hatch. The new Swift with the 3 cylinder engine Z12 has 73mm bore and 71mm stroke so technically the stroke is shorter than the bore. Short stroke engines rev up much quickly and generally have lesser vibrations than long stroke engines.
@@adi_1706 Exactly. The Revetrons have always been good performers in the low end but other than that... Tata's trump card right now is the 1.2 TGDi they showcased with 125 HP and massive 225Nm. If they somehow bring that in Altroz in the future, the Racer will be a perfect hot hatch, even Outperforming the JTP.

It needs the 1.2 TGDI 125hp, 225nm to be a racer, Rear disks are also missing. The Revetron Turbo unit of Nexon that it has, is very lethargic. 0-100 in Claimed 11.3 seconds is terrible for a performance hatchback, even the lifted Baleno crossover with boosterjet is faster than this. Racer Altroz is nothing more than an Iturbo altroz facelift with racing stripes and sporty exhaust.
That 1.2 l turbo is unreliable,feels underpowered for 120 bhp,full of low end lag, inconsistent power delivery,poor mileage,high maintenance and it can't even beat Maruti's shittiest 1.5 k15c with dual jet in straight line but still people ""OVERHYPED"" it,and thus it's never gonna improve, how can people be so blunt it's the worst engine in sub4m segment throughout in every parameter 🙏 fanboys gonna come😶🌫️
I think that 1.5 na from Maruti is good enough for ciaz(as the engine provides a descent acceleration of somewhere closer to 10-11 seconds from 0 to 100),but sluggish for other maruti cars with the same engine😊

Faisal Khan review is always amazing. It is true from his heart and feels like lively experience. Your knowledge and experience helps every buyer of the car. Even though I don't buy the car, watching your videos feels enthusiastic. 😂 . Years back in 2012 to 2018 lot of cars are comes with diesel even small hatchbacks. They are very punchy. But only issue is lack of either abs, ebd, airbags all these latest features. Currently available small hatchbacks small suvs are costly now at range of 10lakhs and above. These special edition racer named cars are useless for heafty prices. 😊
Rather than investing in this shit tata should've invested this money in designing a 4 cylinder na motor like Suzuki replacing that revotron engine.. the car is great tho... Only engine sucks...shell some more money and get the i20 nline which offers a proper TDGI motor

To be frank , I accept that altroz petrol is a laggy engine for a media advertisement . But when you live in a real world , the reality is another . As we all know Tata has no better service yet , I don't think that going to buy a diesel altroz is a good idea as there are lot of complaints hearing from customers using diesel altroz as lack of proper service from tata . Yes revotroq is a peppy performance engine as it uses a direct injection system and is reliable. But service is the only problem. For a normal NA petrol altroz , the benefit I heard was that even if it doesn't got a proper service , it will last longer because we have a lot of example of old Tiago. It has no turbo charger and other stuff . So it is easy to maintain in long use as it reduces complexity. And also the question then 'why do you only choose tata ' is it also provide segment leading features such as height adjustable seatbelts , rear arm rest , cooled glove box , auto wipers etc. which other competitors yet don't offer .
Bro I feel the service part is really getting better. I own a Tata car and I am satisfied with the service so far! Yes there are issues and I wont disagree on that but its getting better in a lot of places, so happy to see that change.
Giving the rear camera on the bumper doesn't make any sense,incase of an any collision from back , definitely the camera will get damege and costs more and it is also looking like after market placed camera.
Now that i see this , i feel n line doesn't feel that expensive, iv been holding on it until this car launches so that I could make a more informed decision. Now i can buy the n line in peace.
Numbers never really matter, it's like benchmark scores of phones. It's all about how every component compliments and communicates with each other. Or else those 660cc 64 hp Kei cars wouldn't be so much fun. Altroz deserved a JTP version not the Racer, JTP's truly were the coolest things Tata ever produced.

It's just a glorified 'edition' like Tata did with earlier Nexon editions and harrier/safari editions to give them a longer life before introducing newer versions. They could have developed a facelift but this was clearly an easier and more marketable option.
I think fronx does not comes with direct injection, truth is boosterjet engines have direct injection as default in other countries but in India they provide only mpfi to avoid excessive pricing of the car like i20 n line which comes with direct injection

Yes revotroq is a peppy performance engine as it uses a direct injection system and is reliable. But service is the only problem. For a normal NA petrol altroz , the benefit I heard was that even if it doesn't got a proper service , it will last longer because we have a lot of example of old Tiago. It has no turbo charger and other stuff . So it is easy to maintain in long use as it reduces complexity. And also the question then 'why do you only choose tata ' is it also provide segment leading features such as height adjustable seatbelts , rear arm rest , cooled glove box , auto wipers etc. which other competitors yet don't offer .
Bro I feel the service part is really getting better. I own a Tata car and I am satisfied with the service so far! Yes there are issues and I wont disagree on that but its getting better in a lot of places, so happy to see that change.

Giving the rear camera on the bumper doesn't make any sense,incase of an any collision from back , definitely the camera will get damege and costs more and it is also looking like after market placed camera.

Numbers never really matter, it's like benchmark scores of phones. It's all about how every component compliments and communicates with each other. Or else those 660cc 64 hp Kei cars wouldn't be so much fun. Altroz deserved a JTP version not the Racer, JTP's truly were the coolest things Tata ever produced.

If you are buying the Altroz, I say you go for the diesel. Proper 4 cylinger diesel engine. 0-100 in 12.15 seconds, also there is the bonus of mileage😊

It's just a glorified 'edition' like Tata did with earlier Nexon editions and harrier/safari editions to give them a longer life before introducing newer versions. They could have developed a facelift but this was clearly an easier and more marketable option.

I think fronx does not comes with direct injection, truth is boosterjet engines have direct injection as default in other countries but in India they provide only mpfi to avoid excessive pricing of the car like i20 n line which comes with direct injection
