Great review! I’ve always been very curious about this coaster. It looks like it could have a lot of potential but it just doesn’t execute the way CCI wanted due to the trims and kumbak trains
i have always said that portaventura hve to replace those trains with millennium flyers or timberliners
Unpopular opinion, but I actually don't mind the KumbaK trains; I'm one of the 5 people who prefers this over say, Joris en de Draak.
I love it when wooden coasters aren't nimble and instead have big, bulky trains that bounce and shake when they have to take sharp turns. Loup-Garou is probably still my favorite wooden coaster for that reason (and also because it delivers surprisingly good air time and is just very nostalgic for me).

Hopefully in the future the park will get some Millennium Flyer trains for Stampida, like they did with Tomahawk

I was honestly expecting a plane atop the video at some point by Immelman Footers with the message "RMC Stampida"
Kumbak is an old branche of the early Vekoma which went bankrupt . Kumbak started up after the first Bankruptcy and took over partial projects of Vekoma.

Stampida was WAY better with their original trains. Those Kumbak trains are much heavier, and the track has suffered a lot since... And on the last 4-5 years a heavy retrack process has taken place, wich made the ride way much smoother than in 2017...
something to mention, the ride designer (John Wardley) had only ever designed one other woodie before which is megafobia at Oakwood. As you mentioned, the layout isn't the greatest but it does have some unique moments, such as that head on section. John Had smashed it out of the park on rides such as Megafobia, Nemesis and Dragon Khan, its just a shame that this was alittle boring if I'm being honest
Megafobia is even worse than Stampida. It's rough, forceless, no air time. Literally nothing to like except the first drop, and if you're in the back even that's extremely painful.
Amazing
This ride is so much fun at night. The Spanish people are crazy and so full of energy. I absolutely love it. Now that Zeus is becoming a Gravity Group I hope they keep this a CCI. Together with Megaphobia they are the only ones left in Europe.
In the summer there is almost two months of midnight closes, so very easy to get night rides!

Nice video ! Rode both sides in august on a really hot day. it was really rough… I rode it for the first time in 2014 and I did not remember it was this rough. #rmcstampida
I think in the future it might be cool to see maybe Gravity Group do a referb on this coaster similar to Tonnare 2 Zeus, giving it new train and modifying the profiling whilst keeping a traditional wooden coaster feel.
I know your comment dates back 4 months, but they brutally murdered the coaster Tonnerre De Zeus ever was, it’s ruined entirely now …

They took out the 540 degree helix, they didn’t retrack what needed to be retracked, the new banked hills are pointless and omg those trains are god awefull. It’s way rougher then it was with the PTC trains, the restraints are positioned very bad (a lot of people who are larger cannot ride anymore), … Is there anything positive? Well … the lift got faster?
My opinion changes every time i ride it, some days its rough and a bit slow and some days its running fine. would still love to see it get rmc'd, might be biased because portaventura is kinda my home park but STILL
As much as I'd love to see an RMC beast in port aventura, I don't think they'll do it, at least for now because stampida is that one family coaster that is more thrilling than el diablo/tomahawk but not as "terrifying" as dragon khan/shambala/furius baco.
I think if port aventura built another family coaster, like a Gravity group wooden coaster or maybe a Gerstlauer like firechaser express (or even one of the new zamperla launched family coaster) Then Stampida would have a chance to get rmcd
Worst coaster I have been in my life. Felt like a car crash, my spine got destroyed. Mind that I am experienced with SLCs. They need to RMC it.
@@aa-rr3lb That's already El Diablo's job. I heard a couple years ago they stopped doing the "low queues=2 laps" rule, wich is a damn shame, but the ride chews through riders so it's not a big deal to have to requeue more often.

Hi Taylor, this is a random question but in a park review of portaventura from late 2018, you said you had fastpasses both days. You also said you stayed on sight so if I were to stay on site do you get free fastpasses or do you still have to pay??
the fast passes were not included with our on site stay, but I believe there are some hotel options at the park that do include express.
Stampida night ride is great! Been to the park about 4 or 5 times. In the summer if you time it right I’m sure the park is open till 2am
I found it to be rough but bearable and have good airtime

It is quite rough as I remember. like, all my family for some reason came off it with a terrible headache in 2015. maybe something changed, I don’t know, but this is what I can say about it. don’t know if they should RMC it, 50/50
I rode it opening year and it was amazing back then and unfortunately it's just become awful. I'd like to see GCI titan track or RMC . That would be awesome.
Could we get a Superman review from Parque Warner?
The layout is a little simpler and smaller than some of CCI's other rides, but I liked this one a lot. I wonder if this was the direct inspiration for Lightning Racer, with its racing/dueling switches (built by CCI's successor GCI). The restraints are a little constraining. I got a back-row ride too, which gave it some wildness.
What puzzles me a little is that I've heard this ride described by many people as rough, but it was quite smooth for me (given that it's a woodie). I thought the classic wooden feel of it was fine.

Ive ridden both lighting racer and stampida. Lighting racer had a lot better pacing in my experience and was fairly smooth. I also got a night ride on both rides but I think LC has a better night ride
my nr.1 RMC conversion for Europe would be weerwolf/loup garou, I want an Untamed in Belgium lol
That’s another one I would love to see get RMC’d! A lot of potential there!
We’ll keep our beloved Loup-Garou as it is, Untamed is a crappy overrated coaster with horrible trains, almost no Walibi Belgium fan wants that dishonor to be done to Werewolf …

@@rechtebanana No comedy at all. It’s not because you want to RMC every traditional woodie that everybody shares that opinion. Tastes and flavors! Also, Walibi Belgium has, for now, never showed any interest in RMC. HOWEVER, if RMC Werewolf WOULD/EVER happens, it will be between now and 2025. Walibi Holland is working again with RMC, and we know big changes are coming to the area of Werewolf in Walibi Belgium. Also, Walibi Belgium stated that 2024 and 2025 would be 2 big and important years (2025 being the 50’th anniversary of the park), so it would be more then obvious that, it it happens, it happens soon. Do i say no to RMC at all? Offcourse not (but please do something about those horrible trains), but leave Werewolf as it is (still VERY popular and loved) and surprise everyone with a ground up Hybrid next to and intertwined with Kondaa …

I'm Agree! but if you don't travel a lot to all theme parks around the world and are living in Europe, Stampida can be perfectly a 7.5 depending on the maintenance (sometimes it's too much shaky).
In the slowest part near the end a sad fatal accident occurs years ago, maybe they slowed for that reason. (News said the rider was a bit overweight and not firmly tied)..
And about the restrains it is true some times in the downhill they down a bit and if you have some beer belly like me, it is painful and difficult to breath near the end. But I like Stampida! 🥰

You should re-review Banshee. The ride has “changed” a lot since the last time you reviewed it
Blue streak at conneaut lake park burned down today
It really disappointed me when I rode it in 2018. I made the mistake to ride the front, and it felt so sluggish that I totally gave up on riding it again. I would definitely retry this coaster in the back. Its layout is great for what it is, but I suppose that it would run better with other trains.
Imagine if they rmc it will be like twisted colossus.

Probably, but Coaster Express and Magnus Colossus definitely need it more. RCCAs are just on a whole other level.

You can see one of the wagons outside. They apparently got replaced due to age. Not a good idea in my opinion.

I say the one that NEEDS it the most is Magnus Colossus. That RCCA abomination was so rough and broken, it made Son of Beast look godd by comparison, and like it's sister had to be shut down, and is currently gathering dust waiting for either a rework or a teardown. Hopefully, it gets the former soon.

I went on this ride and to be honest I can't remember anything about it, it was only in 2019, it was like instantly forgettable for me for some reason, I can't explain why. I remember Tomahawk and the mine Train (and all the other rollercoasters in the park) but not this ride.

I didn’t think it was all that bad, but I also have a higher tolerance for roughness, so it doesn’t bother me quite as much. That being said, a retracking would definitely be an improvement…

Yeah, definitely not a personal fan of any type of seating similiar to the intamin pre-fab woodie design lol, there horrible in my opinion and I wish they'd replace them with something better. That being said being less intense (obviously) I'd probably enjoy this more even if the seats have similarities. Wonder how much the rating would rise if this had GCI trains instead (also what I wish was on El Toro).

I don't think they should give this millennium flyes, it wouldn't give any more room for airtime and it's unique with these trains.
God this ride was awful. Mainly due to the trains. The lapbar easily went further and further down onto my belly during the ride. The rattle and the bumpiness of it was all focused on my belly and it was red raw by the time I got off. 😂
hands down the worst coaster I have been on. it's so uncomfortable I just wanted it to end
