Thanks for the overview. This is the right way to release a game! $60 for collector's edition and $30 for digital download.
I always thought that digital games should be at least $10-20 cheaper than the physical releases at launch.
The problem you have is stores then suffer when trying to sell Physical copies when its priced higher.
Physical should be $30 for a standard release.
In certain countries the price has to be the same for digital and physical

I know it would be asking too much, but having an official reproduction NES board inside of that trophy cartridge would have been amazing.
The person who opened the shipping box pushed the knife too deep to cut the tape. That’s the mark you see on the box. Worked in a warehouse for the summer I’ve been there.
I still remember being 5-6yrs old, staying at my aunt's and my cousin and I went across the street to this kids house who had older parents and 2 older brothers who were teenagers at the time. Long story short I remember 3 NES games that glued to my brain forever. 2 golden carts (zelda 1 & 2) and a gray cart with the PCB exposed with colorerful switches on it. Yep, he had it. Never knew it only 20+ yrs later when the world championship craze started on youtube. Never thought Nintendo would fill a revival was needed, let alone remaking the NES championship twice now. Would love to see them create one for every gen.

Got mine, and dont plan on opening it. Love the look of the innards. The box alone is beautiful. Really appreciate/respect the quality. Wish Nintendo would do more like this

I live in Japan, so I got the Japanese. We got 2 Famicom controllers that can be used as either joycons or independantly on their own. The cards are different, too. Definitely glad I got the Deluxe Edition, though.
Feels great to treasure the collection of Nintendo NES Championship for years with the big cartridges of the NES!
Wish it came with the NES controllers like the Japanese version.
I checked, they pushed the sell of the Famicom controller along with the physical edition in the promo material but they are not included.

30 years later the value will have dropped from $80 to $5 and can't even be played anymore because the Switch had been shut down.
this is really cool, i was considering getting it myself for the NES cart, but its just a replica so can you put a repro-copy of the real champion ship cartridge in the new one? that way you can get real use out of it

You would have to modify the new cartridge. It doesn't have any slots to put the cartridge onto, nor it has any holes to stick out the motherboard's pins.
It does have a slot for the pins to stick out--that's the slot where it slides into the acrylic display stand. But you may be right about it not actually holding the board without modification.
@@dirty-moto only down side is you wont be able to use the stand, but hey anything I can do to justify spending 65 dollars
@@dirty-moto No, the pins for the board wouldn’t be able to come out without cutting the cartridge case. It has a bit of a slot on the bottom, but no cutout that goes inside the cartridge, if that makes sense. You can get a quick glimpse at 3:32. But I own it, so I can also confirm, there’s nowhere for pins to come out without modding the shell.
It's not even a replica. It would have a gold label and no "NES Edition" written on it.

Nintendo are not selling the special edition in shops or on other online retailers here in the UK. I had to pre order mine from Nintendo UK's website after receiving an invite. As usual it sold out pretty quickly.
I'm thinking about getting two...one to open and play/enjoy and one for collecting purposes

lmao why though? It's not going to be worth anything years down the line. Your unopened copy will be worth the same as your opned copy. I doubt they will even be playable in years time after Nintendo shuts down the Switch.

I tried to get mine early yesterday at best buy because I left for flordia today. Can't wait to get home and check it out. Hopefully my mother will go pick it up lol thanks for opening yours so I don't have to open mine lol would of been so cool if somehow they made that NES cartridge hold the switch game and then be able to be played in a NES.

The JP version came with 2 Famicom Controllers for Switch. Pretty awesome. Glad I got it.

Are you keeping the game sealed hence why you didn't unbox it in this video? I presume you have it digitally and that case will stay sealed for the collection?

Been playing this here and there through out the day with my kids. You know you’re millennial when your thumb knuckles and joints ache from a modest 2 1/2 hours of focused playtime. Fun little collection 😀

Just got mine today
Got lucky beyond luck with this. Tried and tried and couldn’t pre order it so I had accepted that I wouldn’t be getting this really cool set I wanted. Today, went into a Not EB Games(will always be EB to me. No need to more associate it with the dumpster fire that is Game Stop) and asked if they had a copy. Turns out, someone had pre ordered, but for whatever reason returned the mint unopened box. So to my surprise, they sold me that. So, go in expecting just the physical cart, come out with the collectors edition!
What's wrong with Gamestop? Not having games? That's because of the internet and ordering things online. Gamestop/EB Games wouldn't even exist anymore if it wasn't for the short sellers and reddit buying up all the Gamestop shares.

preordered from target, just waiting for it to get here! from what I've seen all the extras look super cool can't wait to set that replica cart up on my shelf! might use one of the pins or just leave them in the display thing. really cool looking set definitely some sweet extras.
Target never do 0 day releases. They be shipping it out on the launch day instead which is why I got it at BB instead. It's worth it even tho I can't use my redcard for that extra discount. 😊
@@volcalstone I'd just happened to have extra credit from the gift card I got from the mrs. so figured since they had it I'd preorder it there... hopefully it'll be here by tomorrow but I don't trust fedex (long story)

The pins look insane. We should really normalize including pins in collections, or at least have pins in collections more often. I've seen Limited Run Games almost always have pins with their games

How cool would it be to put an original World Championship game inside that cardridge. Or to put an Raspberry Pi inside running an NES emulator.
I bought it for the pinset. They remind me of the penny arcade quality. Very high quality.
Seems like this physical copy will NOT be available in european retail stores (physical and online). That's so sad. So not wide spread in europe... Nintendo UK seems to sell it in some way, but I don't know the details so good...

Yeah the ratings on the box are a shame but atleast theres no ratings on the cartridge itself, the us versions logo has to be shrunk to accommodate, so both versions have thier flaws i suppose
mine was shipped yesterday should get it tomorrow, I got mine but outer box is scuffed to fuck like a dog got at it contacted Nintendo and they email me it seems quality control is lacking in Nintendo something i thought they nail.

at :50 this is why I don't order games online, and have to physically see and inspect it in store before I buy it...the folks opening the larger box that the games come in sometimes dig the box cutter too deep and cut the game boxes.

I don't think anyone will see this, but something has been bugging me. I remember a game that never came out, but I can't find any information about it. If you point me in the right direction, that would be great. The game was like the TV show Dexter and had you hunting down serial killers Manhunt-style. It was going to be first-person, I think, and involved planning like in the Rainbow Six games.

I cancelled my pre-order. I just didn't need the extra stuff. I'll have to go to Play Asia to get a physical copy but its about the same as the digital copy online. I wish Nintendo would have given everyone a physical w/o the extras. I did preorder the Tomb Raider Remastered Trilogy because it comes with a map book and other more useful things
So this is NES Edition which means there will be a SNES Edition and then the N64 Edition! Not a speedrunner but ultra competitive so I'm getting it!✌️
