Oddly enough, the PAL version of the original was also called Kirby's Adventure Wii, and then had its name change back the the US version for the Deluxe release.
Ironically enough, Arcade GP *2* IS essentially an enhanced re-release of the first game, despite what the title may lead you to believe So, the numbered sequel is an enhanced re-release, but the one titled DX, a suffix typically affixed to enhanced re-releases, is a full-blown sequel. Except they remove the blue toad to add toadette which forces the fourth player to play on easy mode. I don’t even understand the logic of having toadette be an easy mode when there’s it. ive always liked the "deluxe" moniker for rereleases of games, as it's similar to the way deluxe albums are released sometime after the original with bonus tracks, remastered audio, remixes and the like, if you're into music, seeing "mario kart 8 deluxe" immediately tells you that its a rerelease of mario kart 8 with new content and some touchups.

The reason most likely behind naming Pokemon Rescue Team DX is because its a remake combining both Red Rescue Team from the GBA and Blue Rescue Team from the DS. I believe the differences between the two were primarily a few different Pokemon exclusive to one over the other which explains the DX naming, its a combination and definitive version of the original two games, keeping all content in one single version.
If Nintendo ever port Triple Deluxe (and don't do a bundle with TD + Planet Robobot, which is unlikely tbh), they are almost legally obligated to call it Kirby Quadruple Deluxe.
One of the first cases I remember is the Konami International Super Star Soccer Deluxe, a re-release with more features and stuff for the Genesis/SNES.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX is yes, a remake, but also adds some neat stuff and also effectively combines both versions of the game into one, which is reflected in the box art, a combination of both versions' box art
In WarioWare Gold, which released on the 3DS during the Switch era in 2019, the final boss (which is always some variation of Wario) is known as “Wario Deluxe”, basically Wario transformed into some sort of super villain with an altered voice after putting a gold crown (a stolen chamber pot) on his head, wearing a gold suit with red eyes and can shoot lightning out of his hands
Fun fact: Super Mario Advance and its sequels are officially considered the successors of what Super Mario Bros Deluxe on the GBC started. Prototype files for Super Mario Advance identify it as "Super Mario Bros 2 Deluxe" and similar names were also considered and recorded by voice actors for Mario, Peach, Luigi and Toad.

This just made realize, yeah, deluxe/dx and definitive edition make the game sound like you’re getting the best most high end experience, while HD and remastered make it sound like they’ve just made the game ‘more playable’ and updated visually

ive always liked the "deluxe" moniker for rereleases of games, as it's similar to the way deluxe albums are released sometime after the original with bonus tracks, remastered audio, remixes and the like, if you're into music, seeing "mario kart 8 deluxe" immediately tells you that its a rerelease of mario kart 8 with new content and some touchups.

I think if a Triple Deluxe rerelease ever were to happen it’d probably have a name like Ultra Triple Deluxe/Triple Deluxe Ultra, similar to how Kirby Super Star’s (Kirby Super Deluxe in Japan) was given the title Kirby Super Star Ultra (Kirby Ultra Super Deluxe). Triple Deluxe’s name already can be seen as a reference to the name Super Deluxe so it makes sense to have things come full circle if a rerelease was made.
Can't wait for the switch 2 launch title: double triple bossy DELUXE on a raft, four by four, animal style, extra shingles with a shimmy and a squeeze, light axle grease, make it cry, burn it, and let it swim.

I always thought the game should have been called "New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe" (with the U being a different color).
The reason most likely behind naming Pokemon Rescue Team DX is because its a remake combining both Red Rescue Team from the GBA and Blue Rescue Team from the DS. I believe the differences between the two were primarily a few different Pokemon exclusive to one over the other which explains the DX naming, its a combination and definitive version of the original two games, keeping all content in one single version.

If Nintendo ever port Triple Deluxe (and don't do a bundle with TD + Planet Robobot, which is unlikely tbh), they are almost legally obligated to call it Kirby Quadruple Deluxe.
One of the first cases I remember is the Konami International Super Star Soccer Deluxe, a re-release with more features and stuff for the Genesis/SNES.
