Great video. Been there, done that. Lol. I bought a used 1996 VMax a few years ago. Nearly all of the screws were stripped out. Itâs because the previous owner used Phillips head (âcross tip/pointâ) screwdrivers. I bought all new Yamaha screws and a set of JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screwdrivers that Japanese motorcycles require. JIS look like Phillips head screwdrivers but theyâre NOT the same.
So they are drills that go in the opposite direction? Got it. I have the other type of screw removals but they donât work as well as what you have. Since watching your videos I do put a little grease on the screws. Works great you were right. Randy
Old Mechanic, you have said in another video you owned a ZZR1100. I have a 1993 GPZ1100 with the same engine as the ZZR1100. The bike makes a loud rattling sound once you go over 3000 RPM, did you experience the same problem and change the automatic cam chain tensioner on your ZZR? Did you replace the ACCT with a manual one? Great video as always.
Those screws are soft metal and if you don't use the correct screwdriver( It's not Philips.) then it will slip in the hole and wreck the screw. Believe me..I've done it. USE THE CORRECT SCREWDRIVER.

Hi Matthew, yes I changed the camchain tensioner. The original sometimes fails when you yank on the gasthrottle !
But its a great bike ðĪðð
Thank you for the help @@TheOldMechanic Looking forward to the next upload.
