Decided to give it a try myself on PC (since I could just refund it if it doesn’t work) and have had great fun so far, some minor lag-spikes aside, even while playing on Epic + Raytracing. Seems like the most top-of-the-line PC are having the biggest problems, which is really weird.
Funny thing is, this is almost all on the Game Director from Respawn. EA asked him if he wanted more time and he said 1 month is a good enough delay... EA you are forgiven this time.
Try this it always work 1. Update drivers. 2. Optimize all that bullshit. 3. Lower settings in cfg. 4. Disable fullscreen opt. 5. Disable steam overlay. 6. Refund the game. 7. Enjoy.
I've been very content with having "upgraded" from my i7-3770k/780TI to a PS5 this last year with all these horrendous pc launches even on the beastest of computers. Don't think I'll ever be arsed to go back to it even with all of the computers I have available through work

Yeah the first level has some crappy optimization, maxing out at ~40 FPS no matter what your computer spec is, and then it got better.

Dude i feel the exact same with how overwatch 2 needs you to sign in blizzard on xbox, im like fuck that bs not worth it, also this definitely makes playing pc look so intimidating to even get games to play let alone launch wtf I'm glad I'm a console fan
I have an "alright" pc its 2070 and when I played it on steam it ran horrible so I refunded it and bought it on PS5 and it runs amazing, the game is great

Exactly I hate EA with all my passion I bought Jedi Fallen Order, I played it like 6 hours and then one day I tried to play it again and it wouldn't let me so I had to reset my passwords I logged in and it still didn't launch the game, I hate EA and I will never stop hating it
And this is why I can't really get behind PC gaming despite really wanting to. I've never had issues like this with a game on console outside of Anthem and CP2077 when it first launched. The idea that I can't play a game because something is messed up on either my or the developer end is just too frustrating
Yeah, fair enough. Having your games work immediately (most of the time) without having to mess around with configs is pretty nice. But I’ll still like pc as for every rushed, horribly optimized AAA game, there’s 1000 other games that are probably worth more of your time. Maybe I’ll change my mind when it actually happens to a game I’m interested in tho 😅
I get your point but it really depends on the kinds of games you like to play. I pretty much never buy AAA games so I don't really have to worry about crappy ports like the one in this video. Indie games on steam is where it's at.
A couple videos ago, someone was like they prefer console because you have to do alot on pc to set-up a game. And Teo was like, not really its just a few clicks. I knew that was bs but now we have this video as proof.
95% of the time it is just a few clicks. One instance doesn't generalize the entire experience. Especially when this is the game developer's fault. PS5 and Xbox series apparently are broken with HDR settings and there are guides online to just get the game to not look black textured on everything.
There is a trade off though, having to click more but you have more customization/options, mods etc. But even I who is often unironically a PC master race scrub (but not a dick about it... all the time) think with the state of PC ports, console makes more and more sense every day.
I agree. Much simpler to boot up, navigate, and start games on Playstation or console. And I don’t have to worry about settings, checking for updates, changing launcher, and stuff. Plus, PS5 controller is great (I can’t play keyboard & mouse) and there’s trophies. PC then pays off for people who want greater control over the game and the ability for mods. When I tried to play Minecraft on PC it ran at like 3fps lol. Seems my true time with PC (playing Emperor’s New Groove and educational games) ended in childhood when I got a console.
Because one game (which runs notoriously terrible and has a ton of technical problems rn btw) has problems, that doesnt translate to PC games in general. If you have a halfway decent PC and the game isnt completely broken, then the experience is as complicated as clicking install on steam and clicking the Start Game button once its finished. At worst you may want to move some sliders in the Game options menu, but I hope that this aint considered "complicated".
Imo the people leaving bad reviews are being stupid on purpose because, when the game gets updated and the issues get fixed (which they know it will get fixed), they will NOT go back and remove or change their reviews, truly despicable behaviour, it happens on every game with a buggy launch, which unfortunately is the standard nowadays
The funny thing is that I have a higher end rig, but it isn't exactly optimized despite the hardware. I'm not running 60fps or anything, there are some drops into the 20s and stuttering, but I haven't had any actual issues that I probably wouldn't experience anyways judging by how my other games run. It sucks that so many people are having trouble playing the game, but personally I'm really loving the game and can't help but find the irony that people with the most advanced rigs seem to be the ones I always hear having the biggest issues. I'm a PC gamer, but even I find that a little funny in an annoying type of way. I hope there are performance and overall stability patches in the near future.
By all means, I don't hate PC gaming but this just reminded me how much I dislike it, cuz alot can go wrong and ur just left to find a way to play a game that you just payed for
