      Splash and View 32 are actually decent on property options for a beer. The Westin is about 6-7 miles from the main strip and Coligny Plaza where there’s a few different options. Im not sure about lots closer. There’s Jamaica Joe’s bar and Gators Pizza that are near by. Hope you have an awesome trip!!

      Hmm. I wonder if the Carolina Room is still seafood? When I was there they were sharing a menu with View 32 but that may have been due to Covid.

      If you’re traveling with a family, the Marriott Grande Ocean is my fave! It’s a vacation club property but I think it’s got everything. I did a review of it too if ya’d like to check it out.

      How do you reserve the chairs?

    • @fitnessnbeer9835
      @fitnessnbeer9835  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kingabend123 I do not believe there are cabana or chairs rentals at the Grove. Pool chairs are first come first serve and most people reserve their spots with pool towels. I suggest reserving a spot at 10a or shortly after the park opens.
      Lots of people reserve chairs more than an hour before they plan to use them, which I think is unfair and reduces the availability for people actually at the pool. Hope this helps!

      Also look at the Sonesta. Out of the Hilton Head selection, they’re the most modern and I believe they’ve been renovated (I’d call to check on the reno). Also the Sonesta is close to Coligny plaza so you can bike, take the shuttle, or even walk to Coligny. Otherwise I like the Omni better than the Westin. The extra space from the studio suite is nice and they have an adults only pool. They’d all make for a good vacation. Have a great trip!
      Big thanks for checking out the video and asking!

    Other similarly priced resorts in Hilton Head Island?

    • @fitnessnbeer9835
      @fitnessnbeer9835  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would also look at the Sonesta and Omni Ocean front resorts. The Sonesta has the nicest lobby and feels more modern. It’s also in a great location.
      I just like the Omni, and the rooms are like studio suites which is nice. Good look in your search!

    What would be your first choice? On Hilton head island?

    • @fitnessnbeer9835
      @fitnessnbeer9835  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      What up sir! Thanks for watching.
      Short Answer:
      If Hotel - Omni Oceanfront Resort
      If Vacation Club - Marriott Grande Ocean
      Long answer:
      That's a tough question. If I'm looking at Hotel type properties then my favorite is the Omni because the rooms are little bigger and they have a good restaurant selection but the lobby is not impressive. The Sonesta and Westin are both close seconds where I would give the Sonesta a slight nod because of location(Sonesta is near Coligny Plaza).
      If you're interested in a Vacation Club type property (condo) then I really liked both the Ocean Oak and the Marriott Grande Ocean. The Marriott Grande Ocean is my single favorite so far but that's because it has 5 pools, splash pad, and an okay bar and grill. It's also really close to Coligny. But it's not as new and sleek as the Ocean Oak which is next door, newer, and pretty nice. Can't lose with either!
      If traveling with family and for 3 days or more I think Vacation clubs are nice because they have multiple bedrooms and full kitchens(but you will not have as many restaurants or a spa). If traveling as a couple or for shorter stays then hotels may be easier.
      Sorry for the long answer! Hope this helps!

    • @fitnessnbeer9835
      @fitnessnbeer9835  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jenajake2031 I understand, LOL. I like the Omni and Sonesta both better. I think the Sonesta is probably the most up-to-date looking, but I still like the Omni a little better. Unfortunately, I don't think the Hotels on HHI are the most newly renovated. My favorite places there are actually vacation clubs. Here's links to videos I made about my favorite two spots. Different style of property but more up-to-date accommodations.
      th-cam.com/video/LxX3MQvBQ-U/w-d-xo.html
      th-cam.com/video/YJxKgJVukPM/w-d-xo.html
      And View 32 does open for breakfast, so there is an option, but there isn't a dedicated breakfast spot. Lastly, let me know what you pick? I'm just curious what people choose.

    Seems like u favor the Omni over the Westin

    • @fitnessnbeer9835
      @fitnessnbeer9835  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yessir, I prefer the Omni, mostly because I like the bigger room with Kitchenette. Also I thought the cleanliness feel was a little nicer. Restaurant selection is little bit better at Omni(it's close) but I'd say the Westin pools and maybe the grounds are better. And I don't think the Omni is worth +$100 more a night. The Sonesta is cool too. Can't lose with any of the 3 and depending on situation I might just go with the best price. Makes sure to check Hotwire, all 3 of these hotels show up there and you can save considerably on a Hot rate. Good luck and let me know what you decide?!
      Also, the Omni is a little more Cottage like, I think the buildings are only 4 stories so you can avoid the elevators if you don't mind a few stairs and you can get to your room without going through the main lobby. Whereas in the Westin and Sonesta it's more high rise style and you're traveling through the main area to the elevator. Hope this helps!!

    $112 ???
    It's May 23, 2021 and the price is $550/day!

    • @fitnessnbeer9835
      @fitnessnbeer9835  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that was June/July 2020 and it's still possible to find it that cheap occasionally but not on a high volume week.
      Also I booked the Westin as a "Hot Rate" on Hotwire so I wasn't sure which hotel it was going to be at time of booking. Looking at this current weekend on Hotwire (5/21/21-5/24) and the Westin is listed at $641/night. However there's a "Hot rate" for the same time span that's $399/night. That "Hot Rate" is also the Westin for $242/night cheaper.
      The prices can vary drastically depending on how crowded it is in Hilton Head for the time period. And there's no way the Westin is worth $550/night!!

      A few weeks ago when I was still doing research and planning I had my heart set on the Holiday Inn Beach House ($175) because of its location, but prices spiked suddenly! Now it is sold out for Saturday ($370). Sundays price is listed at $300. Even the Holiday Inn Express has spiked to $259 for Saturday thru Monday, while Expedia has it listed as $303. Unfortunately I will probably end up just paying these prices, although somewhat aggravated. This was my second stop on my 11-day vaca to Disney and then Clearwater.

      @@fitnessnbeer9835 COVID was a great time to VACA. Last May (during Covid) I got very low rates ($200) in Clearwater but now those rates are back to normal ($330 Holiday Inn Beach) while the Opal Sands is now $740. I also went to Niagra Falls last September and got great rates at the Marriott overlooking Niagara Park. Covid was great to me!

    • @fitnessnbeer9835
      @fitnessnbeer9835  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Cobra428SCJ I’ve done that so many times! Hesitate and then the price goes up, frustrating. It seems like your dates are Saturday and Sunday 23rd and 24th?
      Yeah, not a lot of options for those dates. I’d look at the Courtyard by Marriott for $300. I know The Courtyard by Marriott does not sound fancy but the one in HHI is new, pretty nice, and has a rooftop pool. It’s also really close to Coligny Plaza and beach(also near the Holiday Inn Beach House.) It’s not right on the beach but really close and there’s lots of dining options near.
      Otherwise only the Omni and The Marriott Resort and spa are available as beachfront options. Priced $636 and $434. Too much for either, but at that price I’d choose the Marriott. I did a review of both and they’re both decent. Neither near the main strip tho. Good luck and let me know what you decide?

    • @fitnessnbeer9835
      @fitnessnbeer9835  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Cobra428SCJ also if your dates could be 21st-24th the Marriott Grande Ocean is available $494. My favorite property in HHI especially if you have a family. Great location, lots of activities. If your going to get stuck for $400+, might as well stay there.
      Have an awesome trip!!

    What is your favorite hotel on HHI?

    • @fitnessnbeer9835
      @fitnessnbeer9835  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! If you’re talking hotel properties only, my favorite is the Omni with the Sonesta being a close 2nd. I like the extra space of the Omni rooms and the overall feel of the property. But the lobby is underwhelming. The Sonesta has the best Lobby and most modern look. But rooms are just okay.
      My favorite property if your traveling with a family to HHI is the Marriott Grande Ocean but it’s a timeshare property. Can’t beat the location and you get most of the same amenities but there are not as many dining options. However it’s really close to Coligny plaza where there’s lots of options. Hope this was helpful!
