I just visited between Christmas and New Year when I was over from England. I absolutely fell in love with Hilton Head! My girlfriend is from Greenville SC and I’m really hoping to move over to the low-country in the next few years. Love it out there. Was in the high 70s as well I couldn’t believe it!
I’m one of the chefs at crazy crab in harbor town, next time y’all are in the area I’d love for y’all to stop in and give us a try... we have some awesome food, great video, love y’all showing our local seafood. Keep up the awesome vids showing our local seafood and keeping that lowcountry enthusiasm. Hope to see y’all sometime!
We would love that! I have a feeling this won't be the last time we visit Hilton Head Island. Y'all do such an amazing job with dining and specifically seafood on the island! 👍 -Howard
Been going to HHI for 30 years! Not a rich man by any standard, but prices at The Crazy Crab are very reasonably. I don’t miss the opportunity to go to The Crazy Crab! It’s always on my list of places I have to eat before heading out. As a local , here’s a tip for younger visitors Savannah Georgia is 15 minutes from Hilton Head... that’s where the party life or “young life “ is Covid friendly 😉
Great great videos! We love the “low country.” Growing up and always living in NC, traveling there for business, coastal NC and SC has always been a part of my life. Becky and I spend several weeks a year in our Newmar at different spots along the coast. We also enjoy Creekfire Motor Coach Resort, south of Savannah, when we travel to Florida. In late October we spent 3 weeks and 4 campgrounds from Hilton Head Harbor to New Bern NC. Keep up the good work and safe travels.
Thanks, Harold! We actually tried to get into Creekfire during our visit to Savannah, but I don't remember exactly if they were full or not. Regardless, it looks great from their website! What are the other campgrounds you stop at on the way up to NC? -Howard

I been to Hilton Head Island before my grandma lived there when she was alive. But thankfully we still have her house in my family. And last year we moved to a other town of South Carolina so now we only live 4 hours away from Hilton Head Island.

Living in New England on the coast...of course I know Old Bay Seasoning...it is in or on almost everything. How would you make a crab cake without it? LOL These episodes have been great and this one had the best food ever
We love Hilton Head and have several videos on our channel of it. Our favorite seafood restaurant is Skull Creek Boathouse, although we have never been to Hudson's. I just learned of another that we didn't know about from Angela Ruch (NASCAR Truck Series Driver) called the Old Oyster Factory. We also enjoyed the Salty Dog Cafe while out at Sea Pines. Coligny Plaza, out near the beach has some good eateries and a couple good values are The Smokehouse (go during happy hour and they have really cheap bar food and drinks) and Hinchey's Chicago Bar & Grill. They have a really good early bird special. We haven't stayed at HH Harbor RV Resort before and definitely understand staying there since family owns a site. We normally stay at the HHI Motorcoach Resort and really like it's location and quick access to the bike paths. We haven't been in a couple years and need to go back!
@@britneybaby636 no offense but Bonefish Grill is a large chain restaurant. While there food is ok, we don’t go to places like a Hilton Head or any other place to go eat at a chain restaurant. We can do that at home. The independent places are special. Usually the food is better, as well as the service.
We was just in Hilton Head the last week of December. We had to stay in a villa because our favorite campground decided to stop excepting reservations for pull type campers with slide outs 😢 Yeah y’all are in what was out favorite campground until they alienated a lot of us with travel trailers after staying there for 3 years for over 3 weeks per year. 😩
Lived in B'more for many, many years. Grew up in New England and, at first, I was horrified at putting Old Bay on seafood, but quickly learned to love it. Now here in Savannah, I put Old Bay on all of my Blue Crabs and fresh shrimp.
Glad to hear you turned into and Old Bay believer, Dane! 👏😆 I'm from Virginia and my Dad always had it in the kitchen. Crabs, shrimp, you name it! Thanks so much for watching! -Katelyn

Tough decision as to which I liked best, I have been to most of those before except for Hilton Head so I guess that would be it since it was new to me. Thanks for sharing. So I went back and watched the other 3 again and its hard to say they all have their special points.
I like Old Bay seasoning on a lot of my seafood. I recently found Tony Chacheries (pronounced shasheries) Creole Seasoning though if I want more of a cajun taste for like etoufe's or just on peel and eat shrimp. Great video!. We went to Savannah and Hilton head in June of 2019 on vacation. We ate at Poseidon, loved the sushi.
I've lived on H.H.I. for nearly 40 years. I've seen many changes...not all good. When I moved here there were 8000 year round residents. Today there are 40,000. My hope for the future is that our fresh, pristine waters and delicious seafood aren't ruined by the influx of too many people...
What are you talking about, our water is anything but fresh and pristine? Ive lived in the area for 10+ years, and ive also lived in places where the beach sand is actually white(unlike the grey we have) and you can actually see down to the bottom. Ive never understood why HH gets so much hype, its vastly over-rated, theres nothing to do and the beaches are mediocre at best.
I'm headed to Savannah soon and just discovered your channel. I wonder would you choose to go back to Hilton Head or Jekyll Island? I really want to go see Driftwood beach an also try Driftwood Bistro while I'm there but might have to choose between the two islands and HH is closer. I will probably be going to Tybee as well for an afternoon with my sister and her friend.
When did you get here? This is where I live now. I am from the Cape (Cape Cod) and yes Old Bay is a very big deal. You were just in Montana. You guys are fast.
We were in Hilton Head for a few days right before Christmas ☺️ our weekly vlogs are about a month behind our realtime travel. We were in Montana around the end of September. And yes, Old Bay is a seafood staple there! So yummy.
Us too, Allie! We had a great time, can't wait to come back and explore more. Thanks so much for watching, hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍 -Howard
Haha, it is! The Hilton Head video was part of our winter/Christmas series released in real-time. The Moab video was part of our weekly vlogs, and those are typically a month behind where we actually are in real-time. 😉 Thanks for watching!! -Katelyn
Amy, do you mean on towable RVs? From conversations with other owners while we were there, it sounds like there is disagreement between the development manager (who rents out the sites) and the owners association (who like our family own the individual campsites). According to the owners, they voted to LIFT the restrictions on 5th wheels with slides, etc, which have existed since early in the project to make it more attractive to renters AND since there are literally at least a dozen owners with 5th wheels that would technically be violating these rules. The management company has not followed this, instead choosing to enforce the original rules (if you believe what some owners told us). Not sure how this is all going to shake out between the owners and management company! Thanks for watching. -Howard
Glad you liked the Jekyll Island one the best! We especially loved that one since it was the start of the series. It was Definitely chilly at night on Hilton Head. Got down into the upper 30s one night but during the day it was mild.
It’s not a great place for young people. There’s not much of a nightlife with bars or clubs. But if you’re just looking for relaxation it’s a great place to visit. We’ve owned two units in Hilton Head since the 90s and still go every summer. However i’m 23 and there’s not too much for me to do besides eat and go to the beach or pool
That was awesome! Loved it and can't wait to visit Hilton Head. That was some incredible food y'all had to enjoy. Wow. It all looked incredible. Yes to Old Bay for sure! 🙌 And what a great place to finally get back in an RV park. 😄
We ate SO much in two days 😆 it was some of the best food we've ever had, they aren't messing around there! And yesss, another old bay lover! 👏 That RV park was such a nice little treat ☺️
Howard you ran that stop sign at 11:39 please don't do that next time have consideration for cars too I've seen so many bikers almost get hit like that.😭
Collin, thanks for watching, and you're right. In my defense, it was a stop sign intersecting with a one way private drive. The footage is sped up, but I could clearly see no vehicles were coming out of the drive before I continued. I definitely still should have stopped first, regardless. -Howard

@@britneybaby636 no offense but Bonefish Grill is a large chain restaurant. While there food is ok, we don’t go to places like a Hilton Head or any other place to go eat at a chain restaurant. We can do that at home. The independent places are special. Usually the food is better, as well as the service.
Y’all forgot to do the heli tours, best activity on the island😉
WHAT! Grant, we had no idea. Will definitely look into it next time! Thanks for the tip and for watching. 👍 -Howard
Have been to all those places and they are all so great can’t say what’s my favorite 🤩
Hudsons is our favorite.
-Katelyn
@@NewstateNomads Any time y'all are back down here, give me a shout. Got a big dog park, my Doodle Ranch, and my daughter and I can give y'all a tour of Savannah, slow style. :)
Tough decision as to which I liked best, I have been to most of those before except for Hilton Head so I guess that would be it since it was new to me. Thanks for sharing. So I went back and watched the other 3 again and its hard to say they all have their special points.
So glad you liked all the episodes Bob!! I know, it's hard to pick one for us too. Hilton Head was awesome. Thanks so much for watching! -Katelyn
I live in hilton head and its besutiful
Cecilio, what a beautiful place to call home! Thanks for watching, and hope you'll continue on the journey with us. 👍 -Howard
Great video. Thank you.
Hi Suzette! So glad you enjoyed it ☺️ Thanks for watching! -Katelyn
So yummy.
Hi! Have you ever been on Hilton Head Island Social Bakery? Any thoughts?
So lovely out there, can't wait to visit. Happy New Year guys!! 🥰 Come by and say hello, would love to share what we've been up to 💖
Thanks! It's a beautiful place, Happy New Year!
@@NewstateNomads It sure is! Hopefully we'll see you our way soon :) Take care and Happy New Year again
We have Old Bay in our Kitchen.
Can’t wait to try the lobstah sushi roll! Thx!
I love Hilton Head
Us too, Allie! We had a great time, can't wait to come back and explore more. Thanks so much for watching, hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍 -Howard
Old Bay makes everything taste better!
Agreed Becky! 😄
No way I was there while you all were there I may have seen you guys.
Quite possible, Graham! Especially if you saw two people out of shape trying to bike around, that was definitely us. 😂 Thanks for watching! -Howard
@@NewstateNomads ha ha lol
Hudson's is the real deal!!!
Yes. It. Is! Shannon, that was some stellar food and a great view. 👍
Hudsons was the real deal back in the day! The food is over priced and tasteless. I live near by and pass it rite on by to go elsewhere...
I grew up with Old Bay seasoning as well!
I’m nearly at Colorado native, but we have old bay in the cupboard. Thanks to live in a few years in Maryland.
It's a seafood staple as far as I'm concerned ☺️
We go there every year it’s my favorite place. We will eventually move there
It really is beautiful, I can see why it's your favorite!
I use Old Bay almost Every Day! Lol
old bay...perfect seafood seasoning. I grew up on it in FL.
I agree Sandra!! 🤤👏
I live on the east coast,peel@eat shrimp,we call it spiced shrimp, only way to eat it is with old bay.
I agree with you Dawn! The only way to eat shrimp 😉 -Katelyn
I had some sushi once... I think it wasn't cooked enough. BTW, I have no idea what Old Bay is... lol
The bull dog 💪💪💪
Hey I live in Hilton Head Island!!!
Hi guys. How did you get from snowy Moab, UT all the way across the US to sunny HiltonHhead, SC so fast? That's a lot of mileage !!!
Haha, it is! The Hilton Head video was part of our winter/Christmas series released in real-time. The Moab video was part of our weekly vlogs, and those are typically a month behind where we actually are in real-time. 😉 Thanks for watching!! -Katelyn
Damn I saw the thumbnail and thought Screech
I live in Beaufort about 30 minutes away.
What do your parents think of the new restrictions at the resort?
-Howard
Old Bay is great
Agreed, Norm! 👏☺️
Jekyll island. So how cold was it while you were filming?
Glad you liked the Jekyll Island one the best! We especially loved that one since it was the start of the series. It was Definitely chilly at night on Hilton Head. Got down into the upper 30s one night but during the day it was mild.
It’s not a great place for young people. There’s not much of a nightlife with bars or clubs. But if you’re just looking for relaxation it’s a great place to visit. We’ve owned two units in Hilton Head since the 90s and still go every summer. However i’m 23 and there’s not too much for me to do besides eat and go to the beach or pool
I live here and I grew up here
My hometown
That was awesome! Loved it and can't wait to visit Hilton Head.
That was some incredible food y'all had to enjoy. Wow. It all looked incredible.
Yes to Old Bay for sure! 🙌
And what a great place to finally get back in an RV park. 😄
We ate SO much in two days 😆 it was some of the best food we've ever had, they aren't messing around there! And yesss, another old bay lover! 👏 That RV park was such a nice little treat ☺️
Who doesn't know what Old Bay is?!?
Haha right?!? The first time I encountered someone who didn't know what it was, that rocked my world 😆
You should visit daufuskie island
Great idea, Leticia! Added it to the list, we didn't realize how close it was to HHI. Thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard
@@NewstateNomads yes is close .if you ever get to daufuskie ask abouth me i will love to take a picture with y'all.
I live here
Great place to live! Any favorite spots on the island? Thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard
-Howard
@@NewstateNomads Thanks for acknowledging, hope you guys come back and enjoy the island!
How can a person become a full time traveler? Do you get paid?
Hi Draco! We work remotely for our day jobs and just take our "office" along with us. You can also work to get brand deals and partnerships through content creation. Hope that helps!
All of them are my favorites as you 2 take me along. Hilton Head looks right up my alley being so much in nature. You two have given me a very special Christmas present as I am stuck in 3 ft of snow and not being able to travel anywhere as so many places in Canada have been in lockdown. Thank you and Happy HEALTHY 2021 and will wait to hear what you have planned.
