This was really helpful. Thanks for the clear and concise overview, particularly the family aspect, with little ones it is always hard to figure out what things will be like.
Brad, thanks so much for checking out the video and leaving a comment! It's much appreciated. I'm excited to hear that you found it helpful! I tried to share information that I thought people would want to know, so your comment means a lot. I think the Omni is great but also take a look at the Sonesta Hilton Head. We like both, the Sonesta is a little more modern in appearance but the Omni is probably more comfy. Best!
haha I couldn't find the heated pool, myself!!! Once I found A pool, I wasn't getting out to go wandering. THe DJ was incredible! It felt really good! PEOPLE were so nice. I dropped a boot coming back from the beach and the lady behind us picked it up, dusted the sand off of it and handed it to me! I asked one little boy a question and he went ONNNNNN talking, talking it was so cute!! I wanted to say I'd like about 10 of him!!! I told him he had a piece of sand on his nose. It looked more like 20 pieces all stuck together as one! I can NOT wait to go here again with my fiancée! He LOVES places like this.
The Omni Hilton Head is my favorite Hotel property on the Island. Sounds like you guys had an awesome experience. And I thought it was the main large pool with the ramp that was heated?🤔 Thanks so much for checking out the video and sharing your experience!
I didn't see the PLANT wall. Maybe they put that in AFTER you came? I was there last year!!! LOVED it!!! My dog LOVED it, we found a dead jellyfish. We didn't have the $60 brunch or whatever it was. We ate outside. I was SHOCKED to be eating FROZEN breaded shrimp while feet from the beach.
Yes they’ve renovated since the video. The room are also updated since we last visited. Can’t wait to go back! Thanks again for commenting on these videos!
Great reviews of the 3 HHI resorts. I think I agree with most of them although I have never stayed at the Westin, only visited. We really love the Omni, but prefer the location of the Sonesta and the easy ability to bike to Coligny. I'm not sure you can go wrong with either and your reviews proved that. Thanks for taking the time to create those.
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch! I just really hope that the reviews can be helpful. And agreed, can't beat the location of the Sonesta in close proximity to Coligny. And the Westin is cool, I probably underrated it. It probably has the best pools of the 3 and the restaurant selection is equal to the others. The Omni is my favorite too! But it's all relative depending on price.
Thank you for this great review! Heading to this resort for spring break with young kiddos, this was so helpful! I enjoyed all your Hilton Head videos, and was able to see what things would be like! Great!
@@awong654 Yes the Omni is still my favorite hotel in HHI. I like the extra space in the room, however the lobby isn’t great. The Sonesta has the best lobby and most impressive entrance. The Sonesta also has the best location because it’s close to Coligny plaza. Overall the Omni, Sonesta, and Westin are comparable. Price being the same, I choose the Omni. If there’s a significant difference in price, I’d choose the best price. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
@@fitnessnbeer9835 Thank you! I just saw your vacation club vs hotel and 2 videos on Marriott Grande Ocean. How does the Grand compare to the Omni in terms of pool, suite cleanliness, amenities? Overall what is the best place you would pick in Hilton Head? I am looking to stay in Hilton Head with my family for 5 nights in Dec.
@@awong654 the Grande Ocean is my favorite place for sure. Out of the 8 properties I’ve visited in HHI so far, it’s the best in my opinion and great for families. The size of the villa is fantastic, clean, and the location and amenities are great. Also, if your visiting in December, having the heated and indoor pools is huge. Its also a great location for bike riding. I have to mention that December is the off season. Some of the amenities and the grill may not be open but that will be consistent with most of the island at that time. So there will not be many dining option on property but it’s close to the main strip where there’s a bunch. The Hilton Grand Vacation Ocean Oak is pretty nice too. I like the Grande Ocean better but I think either property would serve you well. Good luck! Hope this helps! And let me know what you decide?!
Great job on your videos! Love the info and narration..Your daughters are so cute too. I’m going in feb to the Marriott vacation properties. Ever been to any of those? Been searching for a video like this at one of those places lol
Traveling with Jennifer Sparks Savoy Thanks so much for watching! And yes, that’s funny you should ask. Labor Day weekend we were at the Marriott Grande Ocean. That video will be coming out soon. I can definitely recommend the Grande Ocean, nice property, lots of pools, and good beach location. There’s a poolside bar and a poolside grill but not several options like in the hotels. Fair trade off for a condo type unit with full kitchen and multiple bedrooms. Just based on conversations and research I think the Grande Ocean or The Barony Beach Club would be the best Marriott options in HHI. Happy to answer any questions.
Thanks for the video review; wish there was one for 2021 - the aftermath of Covid Shutdown Review. What does the hotel look like now? How is the atmosphere?
Thanks a bunch for watching. Unfortunately I have not been back to the Omni since the pandemic began. However I’ve been to two hotels in HHI since, The Marriott Resort and Spa and the Westin. In both cases reasonable COVID protocols were in place, and it was still possible to have a good time. I would think the Omni would be a better option than both because of the villa style buildings and you could potentially avoid elevators and use the stairs. Also look at my review for the Marriott Grande Ocean. It’s a vacation club property but if your traveling with a family, it’s my fave!
I'm trying to decide between Omni and Sonesta. What I want is the best pool experience in Hilton Head, the price difference between these two is huge - is the pool worth it? You said the Sonesta pool was just ok, do you remember how it compared to this pool? Thanks for the videos!
I think the Omni and Sonesta are the best 2 hotels in Hilton Head. I like the Omni better but the lobby is small and not that fancy whereas the Sonesta lobby nicer and newer looking. I think the pools are slightly better at the Omni and the adults only option is nice. Also the studio suite at the Omni gives you a little more room. Id be willing to pay more for the Omni but prolly no more than $50-60 per nite. Also if you want the best pools I’d look at Marriott Grande Ocean (has lazy river) or Hilton Grand Vacation Ocean Oak. Both are timeshare properties with 2 bedroom villas. Still they have onsite dining. Both are beautiful, have a better location within HHI and great pools. Hope this helps!
