If I am not wrong, she said he abandoned the kids in an uncompleted building, later on we find out that there is a working lady with the kids at Night when he is not there, we don't know if he works in the night.

My 2 cents on this is :--
The guy is her teenage love, no jazz here
At that age, she couldn't see what her sister and parents were seeing -- poverty all over the boy.
The boy promised her heaven and earth in the courting phase - she bought into his vision.
Over the years the reality of life kicks in and she begins to wonder what did she see in him in the first place.
She recognizes that she married down and not up, she pours out her frustration on the boy and disrespects him at every turn, makes the home uncomfortable, now the love is now gone and the relationship becomes mechanical.
The boy now a man is still not doing well, but she realises that men are after her and are willing to give her the life she desires, the man insists she can't be having man friends or dressing in certain ways and the physical violence escalates, but then the man gets the upper hand.
She's finally had enough and decides she can still chase her dreams but it's going to be easier if the man has the kids, so she decides not to fight for the kids, but leave them with their father.
Now she is free to do her kurukere runs
I will eagerly wait for the episode when the man turns up
