I really wish the Tata and VW venture was successful. Imagine a Altroz with this TSI engine. Still, I really love the Polo as well, but the rear space is the only concern in this car.
I feel VW will lose it’s charm as the DSG was the only strong selling point over the others in terms of automatic cars. And still pricing the Polo GT at the premium side after ditching the dsg and having a smaller engine should have helped the polo’s cost go down but It didn’t. But I hope VW doesn't compromise way too much and lose their German car appeal with such measures, so as to boost sales. The other two misses are fine, but a rear view camera is just basic these days. Used to get it even on mid-spec i20 six years ago. These days you get it on cars a segment or two lower.

The best review of the polo I have watched till now.
The older Polo TSI had a Turbocharged 1.2litre 4cyc engine mated to a 7-speed DSG which drives it's front wheels, which was a legend, so what if VW instead of this turbocharged 1litre 3cyc engine matted with a 6-speed AMT torque converter gearbox driving it's front wheels decides to give a 1.2litre Turbocharged 3cyc engine matted with an 8-speed DCT torque converter gearbox with a paddle shifter, driving all it's wheels. People will consider it as a real hot hatch, they'll love the Polo more than anything else, it will be crazier and it will definitely sell like hot cakes.
Just took a test drive. This engine is not as refined as the old TSI. You can feel some vibrations and clutter during idle. Definite cost cutting done for long term reliability and lower servicing costs in an extremely price sensitive market. This is the reason why we don't have good performance hatches and have to make do such tradeoffs for the sake of mass sales.

The torque is not a point here, we are talking about the Polo here, it's just 175 nm. A drag race would be a close call, but I still feel the dsg would win. Also, daily driving would not actual differ, but if you wanted a daily driver, why buy a polo to be stuck in traffic, draining petrol? When it would come to highways, the TC would suck, especially on inclines.

VW was never and can never be a brand for masses.. They must not compromise for the sake of competition with Japanese or Koreans. You buy a VW because you want a German. There is no point in buying a VW if they give you what Koreans and Japanese can also.
1.0 tsi engine gets torque convertor
1.5 tsi gets dsg.
Vw is getting ready for launch of mqb ao in platform next year.
All this polo and vento are being for namesake now. Next year they are gonna come
@@myt3734 how about as below
Polo 1.0 TSI Manual
Polo 1.0 AT
Polo 1.0 DSG.. And than..
Polo 1.0 Manual/DSG Sports pack with low profile fat wheels and some really hot colours like matt Orange, Blue and Black just a niche product particularly for those who want their polo to look race ready..
@@Rishi.N.Mathur vw has already announed their india 2.0 plans and engine stratgy , 1.0 tsi is manual and torque convertor only and 1.5 tsi is only dsg no manual

@@myt3734 I don't think so.
Polo is a sub 4 mtr car and can't have an engine more than 1.2 ltre.
They would be going with 1.0 in my opinion.
No thank you. I'm happy with the 6 speed manual 😁
I had to wait a while to figure out what you meant by "6 spd auto better than DSG" - aren't they both automatic?
There is manual and there is automatic, right?
6 speed auto = Torque converter automatic gearbox.
DSG = 7 speed dual clutch transmission automatic gear box.
What is the on road price of this car
