  • The 2020 Volkswagen Polo GT TSI was introduced this year with a new 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, along with a new 6-speed automatic torque converter that replaces, the older DSG automatic transmission. Visually the car remains similar to the regular Polo hatchback with the honeycomb grille and dual beam headlamps, but it does come with some visual markings like the GT logo on the grille and the larger black spoiler at the back. The engine is the same units the powers the regular Polo, and the output too remains unchanged at 108 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque. In addition to a strong build, and excellent driving mannerisms, the new Polo GT TSI also comes with a decent number of features. The list includes - automatic climate control, a flat-bottom steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among more.

    With the same engine and the same performance numbers across the entire range, I wonder if it makes sense to pay more for the GT stickers esp if you happen to prefer manual transmission over automatic. Highline plus or even the Rapid should be preferred over the GT in my opinion.

    So does polo GT tsi, Vento n Rapid have the same engine ?
    If that is the case it's better to go for Rapid or Vento.

    The powerful hatch was Palio s10 gtx.....canary yellow ,limited edition.2002...raw power.....perfect Italian design way ahead of time...✌️✌️

    Earlier there was no other option except Polo in the hatchback segment for a powerful engine. But now Nios Turbo is avlbl with a significantly lesser price to polo. Agree Polo handling is better, but is it worth paying 2Lakh more for that? I don't think so...

    So what exactly is the difference to gt except the badge and the missing armrest? I am going to purchase one and can’t decide.

      GT has badging all around, black OVRM,s, black spoiler at back, scuff plates, GTI similar seat fabric. However GT misses out on Front arm rest and Rear AC vents. If you don’t care about cosmetic changes go for Polo Highline plus AT which is 50K less and has more goodies. Everything else remains same. GT version is just for show for.

      Highline AT will get you rear ac vents and hand rest , gt will get you spoiler, badges, black mirrors

      Fixing Dsg if issues costs 1.5 lk and many were not happy. I think it could have been the reason. Trok has dsg!

      performance wise, a slight downgrade in terms of shift speed but smoother(better) and reliability and running costs on the AT will be better so overall it's a better thing

      @@nirviikalpa it's your own preference really, you can't get the GT TSI with the manual, you can only get that with Highline Plus and obviously the manual is a lakh or so cheaper and pretty fun, but if you live in a city, the convenience of having an AT is unmatched and you can only get the GT TSI in AT.
      In the end both Manual and AT are good and it's personal preference really

      @@nirviikalpa Highline plus has armrest, rear ac and two flip keys whereas GT has GT badges and stickers, GTI like fabric seat design, black mirror caps, black interior panels, scuff plates and rear spoiler. GT comes with only one flip key like comfortline. Interestingly GT variant is around 55k more expensive than the Highline Plus variant making the GT variant buyers look like a fool. GT spoiler costs around 10.5k and badges and stickers costs less than 4k. For those who opt for GT will have to shed around 5k for armrest and they will still miss out on rear AC and an additional flip key. So get the Highline Plus AT without second thoughts!
      Edit- Highline plus Manual and AT comes with Brushed Aluminium finished headlight knob like on the Vento Highline and HL+ but Polo GT comes with regular black headlight knob like on the comfortline variant.

      @@anishskaria Hyundai is prompt in bringing it's latest international designs to India. While they're interesting and fresh, they really screw it with their horrible badging and chrome placement. The polo on the other hand is quite tasteful and very well proportioned car. I have no idea what you're on about.
