    Been watching your channel for a while now, on and off. As a 53 years old rider now living and riding in Asia 150s and 250cc bikes for the past 13 years, I watch your smaller bike stuff with much more interest. Most modern "western" bikes are nothing more than a perversion of a usable, reliable, fun, light and uncomplicated bike. The MT 07 is already a monster in real world performance terms. It's the joy, the interaction with the bike that matters, rest is just some sort of pines measuring contest. Here, right now, my favorite bike is an Indonesian market CB150X, little adv bike. I ride it lot more then my "big" 250 bikes. Have fun, be safe.

      I had an '18. Without a slipper clutch, there is pretty harsh wheel chatter coming into a tight turn in the twisties. Third gear is too high for good engine braking and 2nd is too low, hence the chatter. Going up one tooth on front made it much more livable. Negligible difference in torque and mellows out the chop

I am not in love with it but definitely not disappointed. currently also owning a 2003 HD low rider with 93K miles on it and a 2014 HD street glide special with 31K on it. 100K of those are mine in the last 8 years This is a different animal for me. the get up and go is impressive, the suspension I feel is much better than expected as everyone hates on it but my only gripe is in the butt, the seat sucks, hope it gets a little softer with more miles.

    Some people don't get it that a machine is much bigger than the sum of it's parts or it's spec sheet on paper. There exist machines that function beyond the scope of engineering design that blur the lines separating man from machine... where man and machine become one. The more a bike can transcend this separation the more it puts joy in the heart and a smile on the face. Haters won't understand.

    I bought one when they first came out and was blown away at how fun it was, I've had a bunch of motorcycles including 5 SV's (2 for racing and 3 street), the MT (FZ back then) is a fine motorcycle. Only thing about the MT is the shock upgrade, without a normal layout like the SV, adding a shock would be tricky, I'm sure the aftermarket has caught up but that was my only concern back then. CycleCruza *I need some advice*
    I’m 19. I have a Ninja 400 in California. I got a 100+mph ticket on the freeway from the CHP. This will end up being 2 points on my license. I’ve realized that the Ninja just entices me to go fast on the highway. I have it set up so I’m leaned over and everything for the twisties but I think I should get an MT07 for myself to discourage me from speeding so much. Bust some wheelies and do lower speed hooligan stuff. What do you think? I don’t want to lose my license on a fkn Ninja 400, man. I really like the look and how people describe the MT07. Now that you have one, I’d love your advice on this situation, please. Thank you bro!

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did a video on how to beat speeding tickets: th-cam.com/video/yzyr2yDep9M/w-d-xo.html
      If you get a MT-07 you still may speed, it can do 130 mph. You have to learn to know where to speed and not. Whatever you do make sure you are wear the full gear including an airbag vest. Wheelies can get you into trouble to if you get caught they can give you a wreckless driving ticket. Either way best of luck to you bro!

    • @pbofan
      @pbofan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not the bike…any bike will encourage speeding if one doesn’t have the self-control to keep the throttle tamed. At 19, you may just want to give riding a break for a few years if you can’t find that self-control yet.

    Definitely a great bike. And honestly it gets my vote for the best engine on the market today. But I couldn't bring myself to buy one. I'm a bit heavier than you and the suspension really bothered me. I think if I had one I would feel compelled to swap it out and that would bring the total price too close to the new mt09, which is also pretty great. However, don't like yamaha's fit and finish in general. Alot of people don't care and the reliability isn't an issue but they feel cheap. Anyway, I found a good deal on a BMW f900r which also has a torquey 270 degree parallel twin. It feels like a much more refined mt07 to me. Its considerably heavier, but the great suspension and brakes help with that. Plus it has an imu, navigation, heated grips, electronic preload, tpms, tilt sensor w/ alarm, the best tft, and adaptive headlights. It only cost me a few hundred bucks more than a base mt09 (normally 13k). I'm quite happy with it. Glad to see you are happy with yours

      Mt03 has shift light because it use the same dash as R3. R7 also have this feature but its dashboard is similar to mt03/r3.
      I dont think shift light is feature aimed specifically for beginners. Also you can disable it if you dont like it or change rpm when it lights up.
      To be honest, mt07 is also marketed as beginner bike :)
      It is not very important feature to have so no value lost without it.
      Nice bike btw. I am planning to change my mt03 for mt07 or tracer 700.

    I own a 2nd gen Vmax 1700 (with a remap cat delete) & a Yamaha R7 with a full exhaust and tune.
    Without a DOUBT the R7 is just funner. You can slam every gear on that bike and not have to worry about a 700+ pound front end trying to power wheelie on you off the line. Both bikes are horrendously fast off the line in traffic and will blow the ferrings off most supersports up until 60-80. There's nothing like ringing out that 700cc twin torque in traffic and commutes. Congrats on your purchase.

  • @vandall0160
    @vandall0160 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I bought the same bike, and I love it. I play on the Dragon, the Cherohala Skyway, the Devils Triangle, the Little River Gorge, the 441, and many of twistiest roads not listed on any moto touring map that are just local roads in my backyard, been riding sports and street bikes for over 40 years starting on a drag focused Ninja GPZ 900R , and I have to say I have never had so much fun as I have had on my 2022 MT-07. I will also say I m not out to set records with MaxWrist on the Dragon, or conquer anything other than the ride, and a bit of a life long hooliganism and the MT-07 fills my needs.
    I have owned over 30 bikes through the years and currently have two with the 2022 Rebel in the stable for laid back days, and I can honestly say that I agree with you on the MT-07. To each their own and young liter bike owners wont get it until they have owned 5-10 saddles, just due to the light weight, the ability to put saddle bags and hit the roads for a couple of days camping, and ripping out of the twisties on a ultra light monster with that ultra sweet parallel twin, there is nothing like it.
    I have added 20 weight fork oil to tighten up the front end a touch, but other than that even on the twistiest roads in the country, that bike makes you want to get out and ride every chance you get. I get it that many younger riders love their riding modes, their slipper clutches, their traction controls, clutch assists, but I am too old school to care about the luxury end of riding and love wrestling the beast as opposed to driving Mrs. Daisy.
    The Honda CB650R, the Trident, the Z650's all nice bikes, and have ridden each of them, but none have the raw torque, the throttle response, the flickability, and in my opinion the unique look of the new MT-07 and I cant say enough about it. Let the haters hate, and even though many don't like the looks, or the rawness of it I respect their opinions for themselves, yet out of all the bikes I could own I can see many years and miles on the MT07 just because it is the one bike that I sit in the office and think about where I am going next, such a blast!

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing your insight! Great to see an experienced rider that appreciates and loves the MT-07 after owning a lot of bikes. if you look at the torque curve on the dyno map for all the 650's to 700's, the MT-07 blows them all away through the rev range.

    Cruza, thanks for the review and endorsement! Bike looks great….but🤣🤣🤣
    A couple of videos back you threw some shade on the KTM 1290 Super Duke Evo which I’ve owned for a few months now. The weight you quoted for the MT07 inspired me to compare the two - 395 vs 437. I know you didn’t like the tank and the price, nonetheless, if you ever get a chance to ride one you’ll park the MT07 for life! No doubt! I’ve ridden my fair share of bikes as well, and also currently own a BMW 1250 GS that you should review. The BMW is the heavyweight Swiss Army bike that rides light!
    What you may be missing out on is a level of refinement and power that’s outer worldly, and once you’ve experienced it nothing else compares and you won’t go back. If you think the MT07 has torque…. comparatively speaking the KTM is like getting all the benefits of steroids without the bulk and no side effects. 🤣🤣🤣 Keep doing you, and keep the content coming! 💪🏽✌🏾

      First off, thanks for being a viewer and sharing your comment. I appreciate you. Everybody has their own preferences and that is good to find a bike you love. I've had a big bike, had a Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 factory that won the shootout every year for years. The big bikes are great if you like going past 100 mph but quite boring doing city speeds and the engine gets really hot. 0-60 around town is where we do most of our riding for the most part and this 22' MT-07 is so fun around town. Small lightweight torquey bikes are just so fun for the city, at least for me. I'm sure the SDR is probably fun to ride but the bike did not gel with me just sitting on it, same with the MT-09. I tried to like the MT-09 because I loved the triple cylinder engine but the chassis just didn't jive with me. The KTM SDR is also set up like a supermoto but it is no way like a supermoto.

      In the past I thought about but such a heavy bike. I love the small lightweight quick bikes to throw around.

      @@10RFuentes Yeah but my supermoto requires too much maintenance to ride a lot, this will be my main hooligan bike that low maintenance.

    My first bike was a Yamaha XS 650. One of the older bikers on my ship told me , “ that’s more than enough to kill you.” Ride with pride.

    I really wanted a 2021 MT07 but due to the covid situation, Yamaha said shipping one to my country would take about 6 to 8 months so I settled on a used 2018 MT09 with rotobox boost carbon fiber wheels, full akra exhaust with a dynojet pv3 tune and some other upgrades. No regrets. But I still hope to at least ride one and enjoy that CP2
