I love when you call Wolfman on the radio and show his picture on the side, usually a picture where he looks kinda angry or worked up about something, hahah love it
Great to be your Lake Dardanelle neighbor this week! Thanks for the chat/lakeside review on the kayak and re-kindling the need for me to get back on my bike.
Man, thank you for commenting and listening to my shenanigans lol. Hopefully you get back on that stallion and do yourself a favor, get that KAYAK!!! Later brother, have a great one.
I think the use-case for coil shocks is park, shuttle, and e-bikes. They are heavier than air-shocks, and not intended for uphill / XC type of riding. Also, the springs come in different strengths, this one may be too strong for you since you are a light weight guy. This would explain why the small bump sensitivity doesn't feel great for you.
You are the only guys who review products like this for guys like me who like to upgrade old bikes. Thanks! It seemed as if you were enjoying the coil shock on the down hill, no?
Look at you yakking it up. Over and out, 10-4 lil fella. Wolfman Dyno, everyone's favorite segment! Nice to see the X1, can't wait to start upgrading my X2 next year.
The real time reviews help a lot to see know how coil worked on the bike. Love the Wolf Dyno lol more of those and wolf and tick debate off at the end too was good lol
You know after I was a soldier I was a trucker for 2.9 million + miles, like others have said I get a kick outta that radio talking back and forth when y'all show it 😁 Great review, guys! I'm old school and remember when a good old coil & oil fork or shock was the way to go unless just trying to shave weight off a bike (air forks and shocks have came a long way over the years). I agree, I think that'd definitely be a noticeable upgrade over the stock coil only shocks that comes on those (especially for more xc/less big hit style of riding), and especially at that price point. Like you said, though, a sub $100 part has it's limitations. Haven't done anything with the Trouvaille yet (need to reroute the chain in the rear derailleur, but otherwise it's ready to go) because I've been taking advantage of the hot and dry weather and riding (the Aggressor Pro) more. Spent yesterday afternoon riding some single track that I hadn't ridden in 7 or 8 years (mostly intermediate, but 1 black diamond 2 mile loop as well). After 11 months keeping it stock just to see how it'd hold up (to about a 75/25 ratio of gravel/single track riding), I'm pretty tired of it's 80mm budget coil fork beating me to death in tge rocks and roots sections, I think the next over $100 bike purchase that I'll make will be a 100-120mm air fork for the GT, and the original tire's knobs are just about worn smooth, but they've been a great gravel tire, lol (plus I've got a big box of upgrades I've been buying and haven't opened yet)...
Man keep buying and upgrading lol, hope they go well and Def sounds like you need some tires!! LOL Also take a look at the epixons man, the fork with the lockout. I think they dropped about $20
I'd say just like everything else, coil or air is a personal preference based on rider and what they ride. I don't have issues setting up air shock but I only have 2 bikes with them so once set, leave alone.
I run x fusion 02 pro with a the bontrager drop lock remote. I’ve seen a bunch of bad reviews but after a year I’ve had no complaints or problems. Coils shocks are heavier then air . Plus I’m running the x fusion Enix 120 fork no complaints of it also .
My bike came with an o2 pro as well. Definitely not a bad shock by any means. I upgraded to a dvo topaz and it's pretty noticeable but that x fusion was decent for being a "cheap" shock.
Btw, when you have a dual air setup like that rear shock, ad 1-3 psi more in the negative chamber and you will have better small bump absorption. Positive pressure should be set for 25-30% sag for trail riding.
I replaced the air shock on my Polygon with a 750lb coil from DNM with rebound. Like it much better because I had a lot of trouble dialing in my air and I'm a bigger guy.
Great example of the rebound control , I have front & rear 2000lbs coil & oil shocks without the rebound adjustment on my Scooter & the front rebound just snaps back which usually happens mid air , kinda distracting & need to anticipate it every jump or can cause a bit of wobble on the landing. Thanks for the video , these look a game changer for me. 😀👍
Jeremiah , don't complicate yourself , just read the prospect and follow the instructions . I did that with my DNM and it has been working like a swiss watch for the last 5 years ; not a single hiccup . Once a year , I take it to the bike shop and it gets serviced ... that simple . BTW , the DNM coil shock is very good .
Chasertech makes a coil air and oil shock with lockout. I'd love to see you review that. I went with the EXA588RL but I still love the look of a coil on a full suspension.
Bought the same shock from JFoYH to replace a Rockshock with a blown seal on a friend's '02 Giant NFS. No lockout kept it pogoing but overall, I thought it worked well for a lighter rider, especially at the price. Need a bigger coil to handle us bigger Clydesdale
Great video, I have been looking at those wondering if they would be any better than my Rockshox Monarch, still not lol, but at $76 it might be worth a try. Nothing better than a little kayak fishing, need some rain to fill up those creeks, lots of good spots around Russellville. BTW - that background music sounds like it's from the movie Armed and Dangerous, love it!
Lol Armed and Dangerous?? Gotta ask Wolfman about that!! Now regarding the lake and kayak, best rest I've gotten in a long time lol. Loved every minute of it, caught 1 smallmouth and lost one too 😥😥😥
I just picked up a Ledge X2. I want to swap out the rear coil shock ideally for another coil shock. How do you think the DNM Damping 2 System coil shock compares to the Exa Form 291r coil shock you tested? I'm debating between both. I know you guys don't recommend products but I'd really be interested to hear your pros and cons for both of them comparing each other. I don't think you've tested this DNM Damping 2 but I'd still love your opinion. Also have you guys considered adding an X2 to your collection or even just doing an episode where you compare the X2 and other similar bikes like X1? Thanks for your awesome videos!
I just upgraded from a Fox DPX2 air shock to a Marzoochi Bomber CR coil. The difference is night and day. The coil rear shock has much better small bump sensitivity and feels much plusher with large hits. The key with coil shock is getting the correct springs for your body weight and bike. Unfortunately with cheaper coil shocks you are stuck with whatever coil springs it comes with. You should try a DNM RCP 2S it has compression and rebound adjustment plus a standard Fox steel spring will fit allowing you to change to a different weight springs.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS a DNM RCP-2S are usually around $120.00 . Unfortunately most of your higher end coil shocks are geared more towards downhill and Enduro bikes which tend to have longer eye to eye measurements of 190mm or more. The smallest the DNM RCP-2S comes in is 190mm. So you might not be able to try a better coil shock on the Mongoose Ledge X1 because of the eye to eye measurements of the rear shock.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS to answer your question about coil vs air shock . I definitely prefer coil because of virtually no striction and better small bump sensitivity on top of that performance not affected by weather.
I would love to see you guys review the Ascend Yungas. I was contemplating a new project bike with a Mongoose and came across the Yungas for $250 cheaper than a Salvo on BassPro and Cabela's. Anyway cheers, and thanks for doing what you guys do!
Another great video. My take on the whole debate of air vs. coil is that it all depends on what the rider feels is a better option. Personally, I like the adjustability of air shocks but think the look of a coil is way cooler. If it were an option to use one on one of my Jekyll's I'd try one. I've been searching for the rare as hens teeth clevis mount Fox Vanilla coil for my '94 Super V but haven't found one yet.
For kids bike air is better as you can adjust it easier as kid grows. No need to swap springs or tune the shock and fork. And it's much lighter. Cool for long and rough descents, air for light xc bike.
As a heavier rider the air shock is usually better for tuning to weight. Ordering a coil spring can take a while and add extra cost to the shock. I wonder if the cheap air shock sticktion can be fixed with opening up and lubing with some slickoleum. Once again, great video , keep them coming.
I cut my teeth from 2003 to 2006 , in Canary Islands riding an 26" United rigid steel frame so when I returned to USA , I told myself : No more hardtails , only full suspension bikes and I have been loyal to myself . same thing with manual transmission cars ( I've had 7 ) so enough for me already .
I know that you had the DNM AOY 36RC on the Ledge. You also tested out the Exform 588 air. Between the 2 shocks, which one would you prefer on your Ledge? As always great job...cheers. As
Hey brother, great question. You know I wanted the exaform to stay on that bike forever, then after the DNM I prefer the DNM LOL. It is a great smooth and easier shock to setup. I like it very much and it will be going back on the Ledge
Great video guys. Coil shocks are great but the spring rate isn't one size fits all. On the higher end coil shocks springs come in 25 pound increments so you can choose the spring rate that suits your body weight for sag and riding style. You will probably find with your shock there's only one spring rate which will only work with a few riders
The coil seems so be quite supple, which is nice, a song a sits not too soft, so spring rate is important. But being able to just turn the preload ring sors not seem like a smart idea, mine has a plastic screw to hold it in place. Having a damper is a must, which this has, rebound damping is needed to keep it on the ground. Preload should be set until you don't have any play, but you can do slight adjustments, but won't be a massive difference, but coils have fatigue so eventually they will rattle so need to tighten again, but not having a screw to secure the preload ring does not look like a good idea. The nice nice thing with coil is it doe snot heat up as much, as an air shock so will perform well, be more consistent on long brutal trails, but it does not have a piggyback, but that would improve it more, as the oil would not get as hot. But coil is heavier. Air will get hot faster especially on long and rough trails. But for regular trail riding it will be fine. But kms of rough downhill trails it will be awful. The air shock in this video has more adjustments.
Definitely would like so see a $120~$150 rear shock shootout between a coil and air. With most budget stuff I think its usually worth just saving up and spending a bit more to really get your moneys worth. Yes this shock is better than the stock one but I wonder what $50 more could get you.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS If you do want to stick with the budget shocks Dnm also makes the dv-22 (no rebound adjustment) for $39 on amazon. The dv-22ar (has rebound adjustment) is $59 on ebay, would be a good comparison to the Exa 291r
I do like coil shocks they are good for the less bottoming out on bigger hits but on the smaller stuff you tend to feel it more than on an air shock air shocks if you don’t want to bottom out you need to at air then it makes it too stiff at times …..
Hiii good day. Just one question. I bought this coil shock exa form 291r 165mm eye to eye. I had this issue when I ride my bike on the trail, its making big/loud knocking sound.. the bushing where all fresh and new. But when I put my DNM air shock... there is no knocking sound. Is it maybe of the spring that makes the frame the knocking sound? Like when the spring comes back to its original position. Any idea? Thank you sir. Hoping for your reply 👌
Hey brother, thanks for the question. The only thing I can say or think of is maybe the preload adjustment is too low and the coil/spring is jumping?? Hope this helps
Thanks for the reply love the videos I have a schwinn ascension 29 2019 got it for 40 dollars and repaired it you guys helped me out on finding some good picks off Facebook market place by reviewing the bikes you do. Wolftick Nation got back into biking again.
As always, so grateful for the content y’all are putting out there! By the way, Walmart had the Mongoose Ledge X1 on a “Do Not Return” sale for $110 last week…totally bought it! QUESTION: So E Amazon reviews say the damper dial isn’t legit. Can you speak to that? The reviews said it was just as good as the model without the dial. Love your content men!
I love my medium Axum and have really been wondering about the value of buying a second bike, the X1. I love the simplicity of a hard tail, but am feeling that maybe I am missing out on the experience of the X1 with modern geometry and full suspension. Thoughts?
Dude the Axum is plenty modern geo enough! You are not missing out. It is nice at first but the overall feel vs a hardtail....you cannot compete. The hardtails are so more controllable and more exciting.
16:58 I agree with Wolgman. But there is no better or wrong option. Both coil and air have their pros and cons. But also there are awful and great coil and air shocks. But you can't expect much from the really chepa stuff. Also that bike is not meant for gnarly or rough riding or heavy people. So insusp their might be some stiction issues. But you are right Tick about the cool having less stiction. That's just how coil shocks are.
Question for you guys, would you guys be willing to sell this X1, I've been trying to find one for my son but they don't sell them anymore and I've looked everywhere, it's a long shot but I thought I'd ask????
It seems to be if you ride hard then the coils for you, for more day to day use it'd be the air. Great review and nice review, trail looked amazing Stay safe guys 🍻👍😎
Yes Sir, I think you are right about the harder riding vs the day to day. You know if you have a computer full suspension this would be the coil for them. 👍
I think the rebound in the front and rear should match, or be very close. The sag on the front and rear should be 17/20 percent of the travel. A good setup will have the front and rear working together. If you can't get the sag set on the rear you will need a softer Spring. I did see that you did not have a lot of threads left on the shock body. Check your rebound speed Front and rear at the same time by standing on the peddles and do some small bounces Have the old man watch it for you, They should be about the same speed. I like a faster rebound.
I know this is an old video, but I hope you guys will see this and respond, because I'm thinking about purchasing one of the shocks you reviewed in this video. I had a DNM AO42AR shock, but it's leaking air bad (even worse in sub freezing temperatures), so I had to take it back. Did your DNM leak any air that was out of the normal 10-15 psi? Thanks in advance if you do read this.
Man it did not leak and does not leak. It is a solid performer and we are very happy with it. I think out of all 3 we have ordered thus far, the EXA form has the most tuning ability.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I wanna ask you one more question. It's a weird issue (to me anyway) I'm having with air shocks. They always tend to leak air. My first one, the ao42ar shock leaked air badly and now this 36rc is leaking air also, just not as bad as the 42ar. I rode my bike tonight for only about 20-25 minutes or so, and it was about 40 degrees and raining. After about 5 minutes or so I notice the shock felt a lot softer than how it felt when I was at home setting up my sag. I made sure I turned off the rebound and get any stiction out of the system. I get home from the bike ride, and I saw that the positive chamber lost about 10 psi, and the negative lost a whopping 40 or so psi. If the negative wasn't charged, I would expect the positive one to lose air, but it didn't lose much at all (if any in actuality because of my air pump connection). What could be causing these leaks? Thanks again guys.
Often it is the geometry of the rear end (the linkage and pivot locations/style) that messes with the shock. Higher-end bikes tend to have a shock that is tuned to that frame to make it work better.
Nice! I heard you breathing...You got MILKED! LOL!! did ya catch any fish? Dude the ledge X1has a funky rear suspension design I run a 550lb spring on mine and actually would love to try a 500lb one. These are only 59 bucks on e-bay, I suggest playing around with it maybe try less rebound and maybe if you can get a lower LB spring for it... coil shocks are known to keep the rear down on the ground much better than a air shock and also be more active to the terrain see my latest vid I have this shock on my gravity see the terrain I drive on that's ware a coil will outshine a air shock all day long. Play around with it more I think if you get it just right for your riding spot you will find it works really good. I have to say I did notice the shock movement was active unlike the air shocks that looked like it don't react fast hence why the rear wheel loses grip and floats over stuff much more. Nice ride! and they do make a better version with a lock out too.
I just found another copycat brake on aliexpress Zrace, Hope Tech caliper copy, and brake levers are a mix of Shimano or Tektro and alike, brake lever blade is Trickstuff copy. There is x2 and x4 brakes names refer to the pistons. So design wise they look great, clamp is a seperate part like Trickstuff. So broken clamp does not get the whole brake ready for the bin. But lever body does not have the machined out parts, but I don't know which material they are made off, but if they have good choice of material and tolerances are good they might be good. But I am not super how long the ymighy be on the market or when or if they will get or if they got sued.
Those department store brand ("Springs") have no internals whatsoever, if you've taken them apart or cut them in half as I did on a band saw, it is made to look like a legitimate MTB shock...but it's simply a spring with a compression ring.
Man I really want the X1 or X2 but they are nowhere to be found; if the Wolftick nation chiefs or any of the followers has one and they are willing to sell and not going into retirement with the proceeds of the sale let me know
I've got an x2 I might sell. It has less than 200 miles on it. Don't wanna ship it though. What's your general location? I'm Southwest Missouri / Northwest Arkansas
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS i recently smashed my knee, had a huge swelling barely could move, but now I have mos ymovement back and can pedal. I had Leatt FlexAir Pro kneepads on. I think I hit bar end plug, or a rock I am not sure it was a m rock roller went too far to the right went OTB. But today Pearl Izumi Elevate pads arrived, atleast twice as thick, many venting holes, also comfy sleeve, and the pad does not touch my leg when straight, but does when knee is bent, so very airy. I hope the twill take inoacts as good as Poc vpd2.0 DH Long, as those I could could get into gnarly crashes, hard impacts and barely feel it or not at all, apart from being jerked around and slight movement in pads, but I won't feel the impact on impacted area. 1 cm thick for the most part. So are my new Pearl Izumi pads, but they are mich softer. Poc was harder until they got warm, but still a lot harder. But I felt safe and was not afraid of crashing, I knew it would not hurt. I hope my new do that too. I fell off 1m high wall with the Poc pads and was fine, and I think I crashed a tthe same rock roller too. The Leatt FlexAir Pro are mot eof a xc and light trail pad, not for gnarly trails. I hope to fully recover.
Man that Ledge is looking good 🤩😍 Great riding 💪🏾 🤙🏾 I'm glad you kept the budget in mind when reviewing this coil shock. When you do ride a full suspension for your style I would think coil would be beneficial to you maybe the next step up in price 🤷🏾♂️. #wolfticknation loved the video hope everyone is having a fantastic Sunday 🤙🏾❤️💯
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS not really. I live in a very flat part of southern Ontario Canada. I have an old norco shore for free ride and a norco Ryde ONE25 for Dirtjump. I would like to move to Squamish one day in the near fiture
Takes me less then 2 min to set up the rear unless i dismantle the hole shit! And if u don't get a shock pump with the bike when u bye it ur in the wrong store
I think you guys(wolf tick) haven't really used any high end shocks before, and while these shocks are leagues better then what comes on the ledge stock, these shocks are both pretty basic. Neither shocks have high speed rebound or compression. Nor do they have great options for volume spacers or progressive springs. I just think you can't compare air vs coil without having a comprehensive experience with both spring types.
Not sure if you watched until the end, but I pretty much said something very similar. We can make some comparisons, but we still need more experiences with coil shocks ranging from this $76.00 dollar one to about $140ish to be fair. We don't have much interest in the higher end stuff, that's left for our boy Evans MTB Saga😉😆
Could make a how to setup the shock's vid just 4 u!! But don't have the time or patients to do it! And there's at least 10.000 vids on how to!! guess 8500 of them ain't shit. But 30% sag not that hard to adjust if you have the air chart on the fork/rear shock or online! Bla bla bla bla bla yatta yatta bla bla bla or set it to your likings

Well now I want a coil shock. My air shock was bottoming out and felt too soft for shredding a bike park this past week.

Also have you guys considered adding an X2 to your collection or even just doing an episode where you compare the X2 and other similar bikes like X1? Thanks for your awesome videos!
Which do you ended up getting? I'm also stuck choosing between KS and DNM shock😢
Beautiful place to go camping your Dad made another great video 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🦊🚴
It was a blast!!! WOLFMAN says thank you
Wolf man , wolfman u got ur ears on , come back , lov ticks CB talk , just outta curiosity wat type of radios u use , keep up the awesome videos ,
New record tempratures here in the uk over 40c, man that looks nice out on the lake
Dude it's gorgeous, I heard that about the UK, stay cool and that day it was 103 i believe that's about 40c??
Did they have spring options? U seemed to like it on full soft on the spring adjustment maybe 550lbs spring?
Man we did not see a 550 option, just 650 and up...
Been waiting for this one!
🤘🤘🤘
I just upgraded from a Fox DPX2 air shock to a Marzoochi Bomber CR coil. The difference is night and day. The coil rear shock has much better small bump sensitivity and feels much plusher with large hits. The key with coil shock is getting the correct springs for your body weight and bike. Unfortunately with cheaper coil shocks you are stuck with whatever coil springs it comes with. You should try a DNM RCP 2S it has compression and rebound adjustment plus a standard Fox steel spring will fit allowing you to change to a different weight springs.
Now John, what price range are we talking???
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS check aliexpress if you don't mind slow shipping, under $100! I've also heard get things about that shock!
Got the same shock. Love the Marzo CR
I would love to see you guys review the Ascend Yungas. I was contemplating a new project bike with a Mongoose and came across the Yungas for $250 cheaper than a Salvo on BassPro and Cabela's. Anyway cheers, and thanks for doing what you guys do!
Man thanks for being here and we have tk look that bike up ASAP!
Very good comment man, and its funny I completely agree! Coil looks better but air acts better!! Well so far anyway
Great videos WOLFTICK guys! What are your thoughts on the EXA 388RL pls?
For kids bike air is better as you can adjust it easier as kid grows. No need to swap springs or tune the shock and fork. And it's much lighter.
Cool for long and rough descents, air for light xc bike.
Good info as well, I can see that
As a heavier rider the air shock is usually better for tuning to weight. Ordering a coil spring can take a while and add extra cost to the shock. I wonder if the cheap air shock sticktion can be fixed with opening up and lubing with some slickoleum. Once again, great video , keep them coming.
Yes sir, thanks for the comment and the views all this time man. Gotta go film now 🤘🤘🤘
I cut my teeth from 2003 to 2006 , in Canary Islands riding an 26" United rigid steel frame so when I returned to USA , I told myself : No more hardtails , only full suspension bikes and I have been loyal to myself . same thing with manual transmission cars ( I've had 7 ) so enough for me already .
🤣🤣🤣🤣😎
Thanks for the comment man, thay makes complete sense.
Maybe lockout would be good but it doesn’t seem like it bottomed out that I can tell looks like it’s not too bad of a shock
Def did not bottom lol.
Isn't the red button supposed to be on the top?
Coil for me if weight don't matter. I run a 800lbs spring and set my sag at around 28%. It pedals better, more stable and cheaper then air.
me too air feels like it just skips and bounces over stuff much more and coil moves to any imperfections in the terrain.
Nice to know, I really wanna find a couple more to try out. I love the style of coil 👍
Thanks for the info Johannes. I do like the coil look and feel, I just might be an air guy.
The DNM burner coil shock would make a great video
Definitely would like so see a $120~$150 rear shock shootout between a coil and air. With most budget stuff I think its usually worth just saving up and spending a bit more to really get your moneys worth. Yes this shock is better than the stock one but I wonder what $50 more could get you.
Good point man, I am curious as well, the company did offer anything but we felt it was only write if we got the cheapest possible 👍
I agree man, you are right. Air seems more plush throughout but the coil felt a little opposite.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS the preload is not too low. It perpectly adjusted to not moving or jumping...
How is it if you set the rebound all the way down and have less bounce
Not rebound, the preload.
Thanks for the reply love the videos I have a schwinn ascension 29 2019 got it for 40 dollars and repaired it you guys helped me out on finding some good picks off Facebook market place by reviewing the bikes you do. Wolftick Nation got back into biking again.
Is it possible to mount the coil shock udside down? Thank you!
Absolutely, we installed one upside down... people say lack of oil circulation but we did not have any problems at all.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Thank you!
As always, so grateful for the content y’all are putting out there! By the way, Walmart had the Mongoose Ledge X1 on a “Do Not Return” sale for $110 last week…totally bought it! QUESTION: So
E Amazon reviews say the damper dial isn’t legit.
You kept talking about "lockout". I don't know what that is. Please explain.
Lock the suspension
16:58 I agree with Wolgman. But there is no better or wrong option. Both coil and air have their pros and cons. But also there are awful and great coil and air shocks. But you can't expect much from the really chepa stuff. Also that bike is not meant for gnarly or rough riding or heavy people. So insusp their might be some stiction issues. But you are right Tick about the cool having less stiction. That's just how coil shocks are.
🙏
do you plan to tru a rockshox shock on this one ? i agree with wolfman, 2 is a small sample. and with coil, finding the correct one is a headache !
Man we plan on another down the road, maybe $50 more or so?? Gonna be fun trying to find the right one lol.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS haha good luck !
It looks to be moving really good.
Coil and oil.hmmmmm
I'm interested
Lol, man it was a fun ride and you know I don't think it ever bottomed out!?!?!?
Tick, the rating on that spring is too heavy for your weight. You need something in the 550 range.
Thanks brother, I'll keep that in mind when we get another. I thought that might play a role...
Nice ride I like the coil shocks they is SMOOOOTH Like BUTTER! This is fishing with ph I have RC's also!
AWESOME!!! Hope you are enjoying the channel man.
2:47 that Wolfman pose, lmfao
SPREAD EM!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS hahahaha
I don't ride enough full suspension bikes to have a preference between coil or air. 90% of the time I'm on my Marin El Roy
Nothing wrong with that man 👍
It would be awesome if you guys could do a review on the NanLio air fork. It has really good reviews on Aliexpress for such a cheap fork.
Thanks for the idea brother.
Great review and nice review, trail looked amazing
Stay safe guys 🍻👍😎
Yes Sir, I think you are right about the harder riding vs the day to day. You know if you have a computer full suspension this would be the coil for them. 👍
Woodman DYNO awesome 👍
Lol Glad you get a lockout of it man lol
I think the rebound in the front and rear should match, or be very close. The sag on the front and rear should be 17/20 percent of the travel. A good setup will have the front and rear working together. If you can't get the sag set on the rear you will need a softer Spring. I did see that you did not have a lot of threads left on the shock body. Check your rebound speed Front and rear at the same time by standing on the peddles and do some small bounces Have the old man watch it for you, They should be about the same speed. I like a faster rebound.
Thanks for the heads up man, I think the shock is only Vailable 650 and up. I would live to ride a lighter one now. The coil shock was a lot of fun.
Really enjoying those shades 😎 👌
LETS RIIIIDE!!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Thanks! I bought one and it is installed. So far it looks good for me as well.
Gotcha man, oneday we will take some time to really spec a shock for the bike, then review.
🤣🤣 I told you!! LOL Thanks for letting me borrow the Milk man 😅
Also caught 1 fish, then one got off the hook 😥😥😥
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Anytime!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Well ones better than nothing I always say!!👍
Woah! Wrong bike to be trying that shock on! Where's the XR Pro???
Lol, man I cannot shred on the XR pro yet lol
Oooh, thay sounds like a very interesting brake!!
Is your rear shock mounted upside-down?
No, but the exa form we had on there before was mounted upside down.

@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS ✌️❤️👍😎😁I made a processing uploading a new video and update on my leg
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS My new videos uploaded
Does look smooth though.
Very, surprisingly lol....
You probably had a spring rate that was too high. Coil suspension can be supple but you have to match the spring to the rider weight.
Those department store brand ("Springs") have no internals whatsoever, if you've taken them apart or cut them in half as I did on a band saw, it is made to look like a legitimate MTB shock...but it's simply a spring with a compression ring.
Man I really want the X1 or X2 but they are nowhere to be found; if the Wolftick nation chiefs or any of the followers has one and they are willing to sell and not going into retirement with the proceeds of the sale let me know
🤘🤘🤘
I've got an x2 I might sell. It has less than 200 miles on it. Don't wanna ship it though. What's your general location? I'm Southwest Missouri / Northwest Arkansas
You should do an vid on those kneepads.
They are amazing man, and they do not slip!
Man i think that is a great point you brought up, maybe about a $50 jump up??? 🤔
I prefer coil over air in the rear

@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS not really. I live in a very flat part of southern Ontario Canada. I have an old norco shore for free ride and a norco Ryde ONE25 for Dirtjump. I would like to move to Squamish one day in the near fiture

Yo Tick, i think Wolfman just likes contradicting everything you say! I always felt a coil spring shock would work better but never tryed one
😉😉😉 Man I love the look of a coil, just wish it would of been a tad bit better. Also Wolfman just likes to pry and get answers out of me!! LOL 👊👊👊
Spring rate too firm for you. 450 would suit you better. Coil is far better then air all day long.get the proper spring and your set
Man I would love to try some other options like a lighter coil.
650 seems like too much for a smaller rider. You prob need 450.
yep I am like the same as tick and I have a 550lb spring on my ledge x1 and I think a 500lb would be great...I have videos of mine.
Thanks brother, we have been looking at some different options 🤘
