Best video on this platform for this method of zero on the Eotech. Just ordered my first XPS3 for my Zastava Zpap M70 and I can’t wait to give this a go!
Good tips...figured that out when mounting an EOTech on my sig mpx...couldn’t get the round up so started using the lower part of the sight like you just suggested and it was right on....further target use the center and it’s still good...wish I would’ve seen this before chasing those rounds lol
Thanks for this video. I just bought my first Eotech. I went with the EXPS3-0 with a G43 magnifier on my Daniel Defense V7 pistol ( also have a Surefire RC2 suppressor ). I had no idea how far to zero it and how that would impact close up shots. Now i understand what u are saying and i think i am going to go with the 50 yard zero and practice shooting that at close up distances also. I want to get accustomed at shooting these distances comfortably.
Man, this was helpful. I'm not sure why they don't have you instruct this on their videos. Haha, it totally makes sense of wanting to use the lower 6 o'clock hash as my "aiming point (POA)" if I'm up-close like you said if I'm zero'd at 50m. Thank you!
Thanks so much for this awesome video! Sighting in my first eotech tomorrow and was very confused as to the sighting aim point, and their websites diagram underneath the model I bought confused me even more. This is the one and only video that I’ve seen to actual explain it thoroughly, again very helpful thank you!
Eotechs also have range estimation capability. From bottom to top of circle, normal human size is 100 yards. 1moa dot to bottom of 65 moa circle 200. 2/3 between bottom of 65 moa circle and dot is 300. And bottom of circle half the distance to dot is 400.
But,it isnt. A 36 yard zero will have the same sight over bore point of impact at 7 yards. Thats because where the bittom hash and the line comes together is a 2 moa dot. Whether you zero at 25,36,or 50 at 7 yards your poa will be at the top of the bottom hash.
@@61zulu77 if your rifle is zeroed at 100 yards for the center dot, the lower hash will still be you poa at 7 yards. It has to do with sight over bore, trajectory, and distances. The adjustment for the center dot poa is at distance. Noone runs a 50 yards zero with the eotecs even though that's what the manual says to zero them at. My rifles are zeroed at 34.5, 36.3, and 38.2 yards that I have eotechs on. The lower hash where it intersects with the circle is the poa from point blank to 15 yards on all of them even though the distance zeros are different. And,as the manual states the same 7 yard poa is true for a 50 yards zero
@@Hoodlm13b it went great I took my HoneybadgerSD down to a six inch version and put a ThunderChicken instead of my HB can on it then took the T-2 off stuck the Eotech on and ugh it was glorious especially at night I always treated Eotech guys like they had the wrong tool but dude I’m a dummy I’m buying two more and gotta get 3 Unity mounts on it now I gotta try with a magnifier but don’t know if I should use my 3x Aimpoint mag or buy an Eotech 5X mag I think it’s called a g45?? I’m wide open for ideas or pointers?
Don't think at that range it would be much deviation. I'm getting a 16 inch 762x39 upper because 556 you need to sell your soul to the devil to get a box right now. It should at least get me in the ballpark I feel.
Hey brother I know this video is old but recently I went to the gun range and my rifle was shooting high at 26 yards .. I have FN 20” barrel with a 1;7 twist and I’m running an Eotec optic 1MOA. Any suggestions ?
At what range did you zero your optic? What is the distance between the center of your optic glass and center of barrel? If you zero at 50, using that same point of aim your impact holes will be lower as you move closer to the target. That's why your point of aim has to be higher as your distance closes. Opposite as you move away from.
I’ll say I’m 3 inches from the barrel. So this is what I did let me elaborate.. I used a laser bore site to adjust my Eotec in my house about 6-8 feet from the wall .. the next day I took it to the range to shoot at about 26 yards or so , I notice the holographic in the Eotec was crazy heigh which I believe was the cause for my shooting .. so now what I have done is line the Eotec with my front post sight for co-witness.
Co-witnessing is a quick and easy way to get you in the ball park. Since the reticle floats, it won't be exact unless your cheek weld is the exact same as shooting iron. Three inches is pretty high. I run my optics as close to the barrel as possible. No spacers/risers.
If I were you, I'd zero at 50m. 20" barrel isn't exactly and red dot set up for CQB. Like trying to clear a house with a musket. Ha! I'd put a scope on it with a 45° red dot micro offset on the side. Multi-purpose gun.

The exact info I needed. I just wanted verbal confirmation based on what I read in manual. Great Vid!

@@timmy101able you can pull up a ton of videos on this topic. Learn your holdover and range estimates
So basically zero my EOtech at 7 yards and my center dot will automatically be zeroed at 50 yards ?
You are right, lots of content on the Eotech, but the explanation here is great. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
This is what I was looking for. I heard about this a long time ago, but wasn’t sure.
Right on, man!
Thank you, thank you!!!!! Finally a vid that explains zeroing eotech and what to look for!!!! A+
Thank you! Glad to hear the video helped.
Great video! Thanks for the tips. Used this to zero my eotech last weekend!
Glad it was helpful!
this was really helpfull.. I don't have eotech but my sig romeo has a 2 moa dot with 65 moa circle.
Just found your channel and subscribed

I knew this was gunna be a good video when I saw the blackwater shirt, no mic, and the training dummy
Thank you brother, that was helpful.
I’ve always been an Aimpoint guy now I have my first Eotech exps3-0 I’m going to try this tomorrow

@@derekddurbin Aimpoint 3x is good. Much more than that and the 1 MOA dot will be huge.
What zeroing you think is best for Eotech with Unity reiser for eotech. Rifle: 11" HK,1:7 twist rate
Now the zero that i have is 50 yards
With our 416 we found 37m with 62gr SS109.
Thanks brother that was informative.
My eotech jumps around how in the heck do you zero it
The actual sight or the reticle? If it's the sight, tighten it. The reticle should not "jump". It'll float around as you tilt and rotate the platform.
how many yards is 25 meters lol jk I'll look it up
Would this method work for other calibers as well?
Not sure. We only tested it on 5.56 62gr SS109 16" guns first. Then 14.5 and lastly 10.5" guns.
Don't think at that range it would be much deviation. I'm getting a 16 inch 762x39 upper because 556 you need to sell your soul to the devil to get a box right now. It should at least get me in the ballpark I feel.
@@jessekaiman5182 yeah, go for it. I agree that the deviation shouldn't be much, if any.
Thanx brother great tip
7 yard or 7 steps?
Yep. If you wanna be precise or just step it out. My steps are about 32 inches vs 36. Don't over think it.👍
this is gold and exactly the info I was looking for👍
B Man glad it can help! Share this sucker with your friends! Thanks!

Awesome tip. What about 11.5"?
We worked it through 10.5in on our 416's. I'd just say to try it on 11.5. Twist rate will also factor. If you're really wanting to split hairs.

WHAT OPTIC DO YOU USE NOW
Honestly? I use the Bushnell TRS-25. I own a few of them.
