Props to JW for personally, and probably at his own expense, getting this pro-shot with several cameras for Radio X, instead of letting them just record the zoom feed like everyone else.
There’s a lot of musicians I would want to say this about but JACK WHITE is probably actually underrated. He’s done more for music than anyone else in the last twenty years. He does it authentically and he’s a cool eccentric who isn’t just obsessed with money and stardom.
Perfectly stated. As a pre-teen and early 20s, I was a huge John Mayer fan; but was always intrigued by Jack White. Towards the end of my 20s, and, now, in my early 30s, Jack White's music is definitely meeting me where I'm at; both, as a guitarist and just life in general. He is the REAL deal.
What can you say about Jack White that hasn't been said. He's a boundary pushing musician and creative visionary, and just an open minded and fascinating dude. He could rest on his laurels, yet he chooses to evolve in many facets, and we are all the better for it.
It's funny, I watched It Might Get Loud the other day. Jack is still trying to play the cool guy but at the end of the In My Time of Dying jam they all hug and you start to see the real Jack White. Seen a few recent interviews and love how engaged he is, open to new angles, funny and genuinely charming. There was a Prince interview in Guitar Player once where he showed the real Prince. He just wanted to talk guitar, his heroes, etc rather than any personal things. Interesting that Jack offers a more personal story about his daughter without prompting which he would probably not have done if anyone had asked. A true renaissance man.
Great interview. Props to John Kennedy. Thought I could not respect Jack even more, but wow. Thanks to both of you for this insightful interview. And what a beautiful piece of furniture Jack is sitting on.
Saw Jack play this past weekend and most of the "new" songs were adapted for a live performance. Very rock forward and not too many bells and whistles. It sounded fantastic. Jack and his band are great musicians and that really came through in the performance. Not to mention what a great showman he is.
That first track really took me back. And fondled some triggers. At the time reflection needed. As a way to convey it, and feel it to heal it. really feel and drop the gun or at least put the safety on for a moment. let my beast out to play then put him away. Cathartic. Then to see you in Pitts gave me a release as well. Feel the music, physically, and excitedly spiritually.. DANCE it out for a few hours.. I can't stay in the dark too long. The set was amazing in Pitts. Music is my therapy. Thanks to JW for being the creator you've been the artist the more human than human. And cheers to the weirdos
Is it really possible for someone like Jack White not to 'play it safe'? He has effectively built an empire around him. It is admirable that he attempts to emulate the kind of restrictions that struggling artists contend with but he ultimately has total control.
Insightful. Very interesting great interview thanks for giving us Glimpse of how it all came together enjoying the music Thanks for. Sharing 💯 be safe take care keep Rocking ill be listening♣️♦️♠️♥️😎🙏💯💙🥳🍻🌵
Hey Jude still had lyrics in that melody, so I wouldn’t definitely agree 7 nation army takes the cake for most multi cultural song made within the last 100 years. Hard to believe it became so big to the point I could even make conspiracies about it.
Jack. Listen to me. You are STILL fighting against something. Let go. It’s all for you, my friend. That’s where you wanna go. I love you brother. - Brando
I feel like he’s on coke here. I know he’s said he’s never done drugs but I’ve been noticing in interviews the past few years hes constantly sniffing haha
Why? We have that all over the radio today. 3 chord songs and a hook. This album reminds me a lot of Zappa, Beefheart, etc all flared in a way that Jack is true to himself with. It's nice imo to hear something different after the same rinse & repeat has been pushed for 60 years.
Really? I think this is the most interesting thing he’s made in years. Nobody in mainstream rock or garage rock is making music this weird and inventive, I think what he’s doing here is really exciting
@@ByeByeDeadName while you’re entitled to your opinion, you’re wrong. Jack’s understanding of music is rudimentary. His harmonic palette is so, so basic. Can’t make inventive music using I-V-I over & over.

Yo! JW works hard to makes it looks it. I appreciate his methods

Jack’s a genius💙
Really cool to have Jack on the Radio talkin about the new Album. Jack is the best.
Hands down my favorite rock album of the year
You’re joking, right?
I actually agree

Amazing album!! Jack is such a sweet person!
A lot of art in the struggle ✌️
here in the TWILIGHT
Love Jack. Wished I could have seen hm in May at Toyota pavilion
Get tickets and go!

Thanks for sharing this with the world for free.
Great album! Loving his new hairstyle. 😊
I was at Yung Lean concert where people started singing Seven Nation Army in order to get him out on stage. Such a headscratcher.

FOTD ALBUM OF THE YEAR!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏽
I feel like there’s so many little messages that are screaming he’s a vampire… all jokes ofcourse….
I seen him in the sunlight he must be a day Walker like blade
Such a kind man
Thanks for sharing Jack. -- Angie in Grafton
Great interview
I understand why Jack chose to layer the tracks in reverse: the percussion is the strongest and deepest of the sounds
14:48 did Jack just accidentally enter another universe?

James Bond track is soooooo underrated!
Pat McAfee’s theme music for his wrestling entrance is seven nation army!
Hey Jude still had lyrics in that melody, so I wouldn’t definitely agree 7 nation army takes the cake for most multi cultural song made within the last 100 years. Hard to believe it became so big to the point I could even make conspiracies about it.
Best musician in history.
Yep, way better than Ludwig van.
Win win win win win win
Come to Indonesia!
He did something very rare. Made an album without any skips.
What was your skip on BHR?
@@dirtmcgirt24 some of the talky songs like ezmeralda
@@dirtmcgirt24 still a great album though.
No skips for me on Lazaretto but I see your point
They’re all skips.

Yo who was drumming on this? Was it just Jack? Because they are channeling Meg White
Daru Jones
I don't hear a influence of Meg's drumming at all on the album, but no it's not Meg nor Jack. Though they are both great drummers in their own right.
Jack and Daru depends on the track
Jack White should do what Taylor Swift did and rerecord his earlier records with his knowledge and skills of today.
He writes without profanity! He is very intelligent and does need to. Any project he is involved with. Correct me if I am wrong
Whats with the Oompa Loompa look
You are something I would see in a nightmare.
jack white needs to eat lunch and take a nap
How did he get so pale though?
In think hes always been pale af but the blue hair really brings out the coolness. But hes so hot tough even now
I feel like he’s on coke here. I know he’s said he’s never done drugs but I’ve been noticing in interviews the past few years hes constantly sniffing haha
Maybe he has a little cold?
Noticed that too
Yawn. Where are the melodies? The interesting and meaningful songs? Attitude is not music.
Have you not listened to the white stripes?
