Some good ones here, I also suggest Anatomy for Sculptors; it's just as good for 2D artists as it has great anatomy references and breaks down into simple shapes and block forms at various angles. It has become one of my favorite anatomy resources, that Bridgman but I had to learn from Erik Gist's tutorials on how to really understand and study Bridgman; but Anatomy for Sculptors anyone can learn and apply from the start. If you draw animals, the best books I've found are Animal Anatomy for Artists by Eliot Goldfinger and Ken Hultgren's Art of Animal drawing, and An Atlas of Animal Anatomy for Artists. These are obviously books you don't need, but can be tremendously helpful if you have a focus on animals.
I bought the first one one year and a half ago and I can say for sure that it is a great plus to any artists book library! Not only because it has great information in it, you can always go back to it when creating a new piece and want to refresh what you studied before. Great advices man!!
There's also a first book in the series by the same authors called, Sketching - drawing techniques for product designers and a 3rd book called, Sketching - Product Design Presentation. 3 books in total. The first book is similar to the second, I recommend all 3.
has a book on amazon that revealed the true shape of the world, book - o homem de gelo e a mulher terra a criação de deus o verdadeiro formato do mundo, ,. the book is incredible..
Really helpful, thank you! I've already read almost all Lumis books, love it :) so now need to use knowledge on practice 😅. The first book you've mentioned - exactly what i was looking for!
I don't know. I've learned the 'draw an oval for the head and go from there' method and it works! Some of these other guys will just start drawing, no rough sketch or nothing.
Calm the hell down dude. Jesus. They're books, not children. Plus, they're _his_ books, so take your 'scared of somehow damaging the back cover by dropping it on a table' pansy-ass opinion and sit on it, he can do what he wants with his stuff.
What gives you the right to say which books are best..'checks out his gallery'.... well played sir. Well played. Lol but seriously great video! I dont have that first one so I might check it out. I always find there aren't many good books that have good reference in which seems strange to me! Keep up the great work!
come from your self-portrait Vedio.i very like that stroke used ,strong feeling. Btw,as a beginer,i also recommend another book written by Steve Huston .His opinions about “what is art “,which real make me think a lot.
Thanks for this video. Andrew Loomis is great, the other books are new to me. I'll get them when they are in stock again in my country. The instagram link is not working for me. Maybe a corrupt link or so. Thanks again!
Anyone know of a book like the Loonis book on head and hands? I don't like the text of the Loomis book at all. It's dated and tedious. I watched David Finch do a video on the Loomis head that is way more helpful and explains it much better.
Im sorry but the first book really seems to lack any kind of technique at all or info, even the reviews says so. Im not saying it might not help other people but it really seems bad to suggest such book for "better drawing" when its just a lot of sketches with some light description about it. You can argue about positions, gestures, etc. But I can find the same in any website that tries to teach you something about drawing. The other two books seems interesting thanks for sharing.
"Drawing the Head and Hands" is a fantastic resource, but it's worth mentioning (and it has been mentioned many times before), that is is sorely lacking in diversity and representation. I'm curious to know if a book has been written in the last fifty years that is as useful, in terms of understanding fundamentals and simplifying complex concepts, while also giving more racially diverse examples of heads in the drawings. Anybody know?
Not that I know of, but also given the hyper-woke times we live in that feels like career suicide and a sure fire way to get cancelled. Any way someone tried to convey physical differences between races would be seen as a throw back to racist old cartoons(They did remove the Cream of Wheat logo recently).
He blurred the nude references but didn't the book open with female breast? If people aren't old enough to see images they probably wouldn't be old enough to learn art from these books or purchase them. So why censor it for us?
Want to get better at drawing ?....then get drawing and draw and draw and draw and draw and dr.....and should you find an easier lazy way then good luck. ...
Why has dropping stuff from a height now a thing? Books. Albums. Steak. Chicken. Anything. Let’s drop them from a height and further the social media video cliche.
This is a very important observation. If you know about the existence of such a book please let me know! And by the way, glad to see that maybe I am not the only one wondering why most contemporary artists only paint white people 😒

Fantastic 😊 My favorite book is Saturno Buttò by The Guide Artists. Amazing quality.

Have you got the pdf drive of the books?
Thank you so much Sir ❤️👍😁
What would you recommend for the absolute beginner?
Hands down the Artwod Beginner Road. Yes it’s our own, but we made it because there is nothing like it online. It’s the best!
is there another video for painting???
Thanks for books

I want to be a comic book artist, would your program work well for me?
Hello, it would be great if you could do a work through of these books. If you have the time that would be cool.
What are good books for drawing still life?
thank you!
Interesting👌
Can you suggest books on painting please??
Thank you 💕💯
The first book though, it had to be blurred too many explicit photos ..
Book no 1- Figure drawing.
Book no 2-Drawing head and hand.
Book no 3- Sketching the basic.
Is that Gandalf the Grey on the right wall behind you? 😊😊😊
That is Merlin from the Artstation King Arthur challenge :)
What Horia said :) I'll post the time-lapse of him someday!
Cool!
Blur was annoying, don't know if it was intentional or the camera lost focus.

It’s probably censored for youtube. Drawn figures aren’t censored, but photographed figures are.

People copy too much vs from the heart.
Tattoos are such an annoying visual distraction. Hope this fad ends sometime soon.
Tattoos have been around for thousands of years. Hopefully, your attitude may disappear as you mature.
What an odd comment

Loomis, Riley, Bridgeman are the only books you’ll ever need imo
