Hey Kenn, I'm so humbled to hear Tankhead was your favorite artbook of 2024! And you're completely right about me having my tongue in my cheek the entire time while I was working on the project ;) A lot of the "fun" aspect of the world was inspired by games like Advance Wars and Metal Slug.
wow I didnt think you would actually be here in the comments! LOVE your Tank Heads, especially how you can tell what tanks they are! the German knight Tiger tanks are some of my favs. how did you dome up with all the little details?
@@MALICEM12 thank you so much! Most of the details really come from the source material themselves, looking at a lot of photos and models of real life tanks, and looking at a lot of other mechs and vehicles.
Ok, I may see why you said this week. It shows Dec 3 as release day. I’ve had preordered since August when it was announced. If you track the order it says it’s not coming until Jan 8 it’s been delayed.
Anime Architecture was my starter into artbooks, I've been collecting them now because of it. What a perfect topic for an artbook. I would kill for more artbooks detailing architecture in animation or fiction. High Fantasy architecture in anime would be another great one.
never thought i'd see Elements of Design featured here! my first 2 yrs of design school we made dozens of models based off of Rowena Reed Kostellow's teachings and actually made them from foam insulation boards (really easy to cut and combine with toothpicks). at the time you kind of make them just cause you're told to but looking back it's so helpful in understanding spatial relationships-changing the proportion of one element alone can make/break a design and something I'm always trying to get right-very cool that it carries over to your concept art.
Never heard of these books until now. Surprisingly affordable as art books go, they all go to my wish list and will buy 1 or 2 of these. Thanks for the recommendations
Thank you for this video. I'm collecting artbooks but have not heard about Aftrmrkt before. Seeing your flip through I have to say this now looks like my top #1 to buy art book. Amazing work and thank you again for showing it!
I bought a fair stack of art books this year. A couple of the favourites: - Wanella // Decade - John Harris // The Art of John Harris Volume II, Into The Blue Some other artist books I enjoyed: - Sparth // Structura 1, 2, and 3 (some older books) - Ruan Jia // Black Dragon Crown - Simon Stalenhag // The Labyrinth Books about film/shows: - The Art of The Creator - The Art of Love Death and Robots - The Art of the Movie // Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse And a couple of multi-artist books that caught my attention: - Art of Atari - Science Fiction Illustration There are still more on the way I think. It's been a good year. :)
Wow, Elements of Design! I don’t think I’ve seen that mentioned outside of the courses I took from two of her coworkers (she had already passed away by then and now they unfortunately have too).
wow. algo suggested me this video, no idea why. I never heard about art books as a concept, and I had no idea there are books with mech designs 😮 Anyhow, which art books would you recommend to check overall? I just enjoy looking at nice art. These mechs are awesome
I find it baffling that people like smaller art books. I prefer art books to be as big as possible. The way I see it, small art books is really no different than just viewing digital art on a mobile device (i.e., it's ok for just glancing at a piece). To me, why even buy the book at all in a small size when you can just view it online? While with large art books, you can see all the minor details that you won't see in a lower rez or smaller format. If I buy an art book, I want to be blown away, similar to seeing an actual physical piece of art live. I want to see the minor nuances up close, so I can get a look into the artist's mind much better.
I think you should check out the work of plastiboo, he’s an amazing artist. He has three books out now vermis, vermis 2 mist and mirrors, and his newest book godhusk. Great video by the way👍
Sadly not my type of art books, the only themes in art I really dislike are scifi or dystopian subject matter aswell as medival fantasy I have a pretty large art book collection of artbooks but im just waiting for the day when my favourite artists will release international shipping for their books😊
You sound incredibly misinformed. You seem like the type of person who heard negative things about a few NFTs projects from the media and you believed it without doing actual research into the technology itself. The reality is NFTs actually help artists make a living from their art and furthermore, it helps and pays the community of said NFTS. You are bias from a negative narrative instead of looking at it objectively. NFTs are NOT going anywhere. Artist deserve to get paid period
it’s wild how no one talks about Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki even though it completely shifts how you see things, but I guess not everyone is ready
It’s not that people aren’t ready, it’s that people can’t find it. I saw three comments mentioning this art book so I looked it up only to find an affirmation book and a weird “increase how attractive you are” scam book. Where did you guys get this book? PLS, I literally cannot find it.
In case you aren't also a bot I am pretty sure this are all bots trying to promote a scam I've seen this format before, never in niche art channels though @@Dude-hs7zm

The man himself! That's awesome! I love those games too, I can definitely see that influence coming through.
Bold of you to make this vídeo before the Arcane Artbook drops this week.
why have an opinion if you are going to be wrong?
this is Arcane slander and I will not tolerate it
Arcane artbook comes out in January 😞
Ok, I may see why you said this week.

I would totally read that!
I have not look at Canabis works since I was in college. Uh, the memories. I want to revisit his art now. Thanks for pointing these out!
international shipping will be the death of me 😭💀
TH-cam: Hey you want to see someone you never saw talk about art book he finds great for 20 minute straight?
Me: Do I ?!
The cycle repeats 🥲
I got the Anime Architecture book a while back, definitely one of my favorites! Glad to see mention it.
Mine too!

Time for my wishlist to get even longer
Finally, time to expand my library and finally someone actually shows off artbooks properly and not hauls
OMG, this list is insane! I wish I could buy all of them, but i had to choose only one: Anime Architecture

I really don't need more art books 😆😆

Still waiting for the kickstarter to end. Death burger's Future is now artbook.
You’re missing Sainer’s book
That’s not a book mark in the post card box?
I thought those were art boxes 😅
This must be pre Arcane book drop 😭
Hello chroma:)
Yet not a single spicy doujin. Very upset.
That's Patreon material

Disappointed to find out that both Aftrmrkt and Tankhead artists both participate in NFTs. Can't support either personally.

if this resonates with you, you owe it to yourself to read Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, but maybe it’s not for everyone
