If you really enjoy portrait art I definitely would recommend Alex Grey's art book. The in depth he goes into his art is beautiful and amazing. The art book for any Don Bluth film I enjoy, particularly Secret of N.I.M.H or Land Before Time. The art book for Avatar the Last Airbender and Tarzan was also amazing to flip through. One of my college professors worked on Tarzan and a few other features and she inspired me a lot as an illustrator and writer. My favourite studio Ghibli film is a tie of three; Kiki's Delivery Service, Castle in the Sky, and Princess Monoke. I also loved the artwork in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Willow, and the Princess Bride.
I'm going to look for the book for Kiki's Delivery Service. That's my favorite Ghibli film. I love French Impressionism and I recognized several scenes in the film based on specific Monet paintings. I inherited a huge art library from my Mom. The most unexpected was a kit for watercolor pencils. Packaged to look like a book and hiding out on the bookcase.
The Lauricella's anatomy book that you have shown is kind of my bible, gorgeous style to copy and study again and again. He published a lot of similar books for different types of bodies, if you are interested!
Due to your beautiful influence I found so many art books. Thank goodness I found a lot half priced. 8:42 I took a screenshot to share, but can’t load it. I bought several with illustrated journals, letters, with autobiography on women in art. As well as Van Gogh and his brother Theo. Ty for your videos.
I love that first book...I've checked it out from my local library countless times since I got my library card when I was 11. I was lucky enough to find a copy on Thrift Books!
I just scored a used copy of An Introduction to Art Techniques for $9 including shipping! 🤩 This is the second time I have seen you recommended this book... I cannot wait to get it! Thanks so much for another kick ass video! 🙏🏻💚🎨
Art books are the stuff of dreams. Oceans, deserts, angels, forests, still life, plants and people -- the images stay with you long after you have finished the book. Sci Fi art books are even better. These are my 2 favorite art books on Amazon: - Aviation Art by Lou Drendel - Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson
These kinds of videos are often disappointing to me. But yours has it all: each book is visually amazing ànd offers a ton of information, you discussed a wide variety of books, and I loved hearing your thoughts on them. I will add several of these books to my wish list. And should you make more of these art book videos, I'd totally watch them. I can tell you have plenty to show and tell on that subject.
I agree the design work for the prequels is amazing, sort of let down in the movies, but its still a lot of great design work by a lot of talented people
For fans of comic books I recommend Mythology and Marvelocity, its an art book by alex ross which show cases a lot of his painted artwork for companies dc and marvel, there are many great illustrations in the book as well as a step back to show his pencil sketches compared to the finished product.
I love the Spectrum and Sketching from the Imagination series of books. I definitely found some books to go on my wish list in this video. I whole heartedly agree, one can never have too many art books!
I love the Star Wars art books! Rogue One was actually one of my first art books ever and it’s probably still one of my favourites (granted, I don’t have many to choose from). It was really interesting to hear you say that the prequels had the designs that interested you the most, seeing as my favourite Star Wars aesthetic (I can’t believe I’m saying that lol) is very rebellion era. What I loved about the Rogue One book was how it talks about tying into the pre-existing design conventions of that era while still introducing new elements. I was also able to snag art of the Mandalorian which has a similar sort of vibe
It’s still pretty hard for me to choose, haha! I absolutely love Rebellion era designs as well, I’ve just noticed that I tend to gravitate towards a lot of the prequel era stuff. Plus I REALLY love those Episode 2 Ventress concept sketches lol
I just found your channel I love it! I think my favourite book would be Anthony Ryder's The Artist's Complete Guide to Figure Drawing. This book was so influential when I began to explore Realism when I first went to school. Even though my style has changed a lot, I still go back to that book to recall my fundamental knowledge.
Your recomendations look awesome. I just recently ordered The artbook of Spirited away and am [im]patiently waiting for it to arrive. They say 2 months. It will take lots of patience :D
Do you know how you're supposed to practice Anatomy I mean there's no exercises for an artist to do I wish they came with a workbook. Are you just copy the images and hopefully sticking your brain?
Nothing wrong with the Star Wars prequels they actually become loved by fans over time I still think the revenge of the sith was awesome and I’ve watched it just as many times as the old ones
My favorite art book right now is James Gurney's Imaginative Realism. You probably have it, but I just wanted to give him/it a shout-out. :)

I have a colour palette book called "palette perfect" and I love it
Ooo sounds interesting! I’ll have to check it out!
Thanks for this quick video but so comprehensive!
Is it too early to ask for a part two of this?
I mean... there were so many incredible books that I left out that definitely need to be talked about.
The Lauricella's anatomy book that you have shown is kind of my bible, gorgeous style to copy and study again and again. He published a lot of similar books for different types of bodies, if you are interested!

Great video I didn't realise all the films have art books so thanks will look for some favourites.
I hope you enjoy hearing about my favourite art books! I would love to know what your favourites are so leave your art book recommendations below 👇
I love your videos. Your serene, enlightened style. I picked up a few of your suggestions. Excited to get a first hand look. Thank you.
Thanks for the great video. FYI - You might be interested in a great looking inspirational art book, it's called “The STOP LOOKING START SEEING book”.
I love that first book...I've checked it out from my local library countless times since I got my library card when I was 11. I was lucky enough to find a copy on Thrift Books!
I would add the following:
- Drawing on the right side of the brain by Betty Edwards
- The Artists handbook. By Ralph Meyer
Thanks
Same for graphic designers
"Ways of Seeing" has been the most important to me.
I just scored a used copy of An Introduction to Art Techniques for $9 including shipping! 🤩 This is the second time I have seen you recommended this book... I cannot wait to get it! Thanks so much for another kick ass video! 🙏🏻💚🎨
Your voice touched my music notes 😁 really I came here to know books about arts but I found one more thing is your impressive voice 😻

What is the Chinese artist shown at 3:19? The Fold patterns are very interesting.
I loved your picks, I also have Zelda, Breath of the Wild. I would also recommend "Hiroshige, One Hundred Famous Views of Edo"😊
Looks like you have an awesome artbook library.

The Art Museum seems amazing!
I love the Spectrum and Sketching from the Imagination series of books.

Yes! The Sketching from the Imagination series is fantastic!
I'm really excited to get the Art of the Mandalorian season 1 book. I LOVED those end of episode art pieces!
I love Botw too!!
Love the video. One of my fav art book is evangelion illustration for the first session, showing the original drawing.

I feel this will help me a lot
I'm learning drawing and painting
Great video. Love the variety covered!
Amazing set of books! Can you show us ALL your art books ? 😁😉 you have a full shelf of them 😁
This is a few years old so it’s not quite up to date but it includes the vast majority of my collection: th-cam.com/video/2KJ8RZcK3PA/w-d-xo.html

did it arrive? lol
@@KirbyMArt it actually did 👍
Do you know any good books about portraits or art nouveau?
I didn't know video game's artbooks were a thing. Thanks
Do you know how you're supposed to practice Anatomy I mean there's no exercises for an artist to do I wish they came with a workbook. Are you just copy the images and hopefully sticking your brain?
I have the same book
fun.. thanks
the first book available in internet archives
Cool 😍😍😍
You would love my Amazon book,’The History of Art Materials’ by me A.W.J. Pilgrim.
So funny how the prices of some of these books are so different. From Amazon verses thrift books..
I didn't have one, but i love reading book, but my parents were not like to see me stick with any kind of book, poor me 0w0
You focused on painting 🤔
