Hi Lisa, great tips and videos. Just found you today while searching for vids on how to use the Instant Pot Air Fryer LID. care to do a video on this product??
I am a LONG TIME 😉 pressure cooker user, beginning with the old stove top models to the Instant Pot. I believe your channel is a real bonus to new pressure cooker users. The advantage to using an electric pressure cooker like the Instant Pot, which minimizes the need to constantly monitor the pot and pressure, (as compared to the stovetop models) is significant. Often, directions that come with a new appliance are minimal and do not include tips and tricks, so watching your step-by-step instructions (from basic use to cleaning) can greatly minimize any intimidation about the use of the Instant Pot for a new user. As a "seasoned" user of pressure cookers, I too have enjoyed a few of your suggestions regarding such things as controlling the SAUTE button, turning off the sound if desired, etc. I have saved links to your channel to share with any new Instant Pot users in my large family.👍 Thank you.
@Cathy Larkin I come from a large family too. Grew up using an aluminum Mirro brand pressure cooker which finally died after 50 years & questions abt links between aluminum cookware & dementia. Looking fwd to begin using these tips to use my new pressure cooker.
@@marirose756 I still have a 50 year old Presto pressure cooker, so I can relate. The Instant Pot does reduce the babysitting included with the old stovetop models. Good luck with your new electric pressure cooker. I think you will love it.👋
This vid is PRICELESS. I have NEVER gotten a set of “instructions” more useless than the manual that came with my InstaPot. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video! I’m now a subscriber! I’m following…! ♥️
I love all these analogies and explanations! I'm watching this while simultaneously cooking with the instant pot for the first time 😂 my roommate and I have both been scared so today I decided to give it a whirl. So glad I found this video
I've had my instant pot for 2 years and have been scared to use it - I think this video has finally given me the confidence to do so! Thank you for being so thorough. Most of the intro videos I've seen are only a few minutes and don't cover everything. Can't wait to finally try it, I'll be coming back to your channel for tips on cooking with it 😁
i have just tried to cook with the instant pot for the first time since i have it for more than a year. I literally watching this video 3 times before i use the instant pot today for before my wife comes home for lunch. She said i was doing good. Thanks for creating this video for people like me. 😊
Just happened to come across this video and I’m so happy I did!! I have had my instant pot for 5 months and haven’t even opened it up bcos it’s a bit scary to use lol...now I think I’m totally ready! Thanks ever so much Lisa ❤️❤️❤️
my mom bought me an instant pot for me when I went to college and she made me a meal in it before she left and it's been over a year and I still hadn't used it as I was too intimidated, thank you for this video it was very informative and encouraging, I'm cooking some brown rice in it right now as I'm typing this. Thanks again! 💖
Just bought myself an Instant pot and I feel like a fish out of water learning to use it. This video has been so helpful for a first time user. I’m looking forward to watching your other videos.
I’ve been known to watch cooking shows on TH-cam for hours… sometimes aaaALLLL night… yes… I know, that’s a long time. What can I say…? I’m obsessed!! In watching all those shows I’ve seen a lot of people trying to demonstrate their cooking skills and she’s the one I enjoy the most. Her recipes and cooking knowledge is “up there”. And how to use the Instant Pot? The right way? OMG, she covers it all. I haven’t owned my Instant Pot for long and wasn’t using it very much when I first bought it home. But by watching and listening to Lisa… that's over. Today I’m comfortable in the kitchen with no fear of making serious mistakes when I use my Instant pot, thanks to Lisa. So, even if you already own a instant Pot or you’re thinking about getting one. (you should by the way, they're great!) Do yourself a favor, sit down and watch a few episodes of Tried Tested and True. If you're not sure which ones to watch… watch the ones for beginners. She explains EVERYTHING and DOESN’T MISS A BEAT. I’m sure that even those who consider themselves a Instant Pot Pros are going to learn something. And that’ll help to make you feel better about cooking dinner tonight. I know I will. And don’t forget to Like and Subscribe!!! Her presentations deserve it.
pretty informative and quite well done. just a couple things to harp on. if you preheat the pot before pressure cooking the times in recipes will be off. if a recipe does not say preheat then you shouldn't. a technical correction on how it works is that water can get to about 212 under normal conditions but, because it is under pressure, water boils at a much, much higher temperature and that is why food cooks faster. as i stated it was informative and i thank you.
I finally broke down and decided to buy one for myself. I watched a lot of videos and yours is the best, most comprehensive video on TH-cam. That is why I just subbed. 👍
Thank you thank you thank you & thank goodness for you! Many of us in the silver set are still bewildered by smart media & these social pots. I’ve been searching for simply HOURS about how to cook a wee ham in my 3 qt instant pot duo plus. No idea how many lovely recipe videos I’ve now viewed, but to my dismay none of them actually showed anyone pressing buttons, so no matter how nice the recipe I couldn’t start up my brand new I-pot which did NOT come with a manual. Then I found this wonderful tutorial explaining all the buttons and how they work. My ham is finally cooking …. I hope. Rest assured, you have a new follower! Thank you again.
I just want to say how much I appreciate this video you've made. I know it's old at this point and who knows if you'll even see this, (it being the end of 2021 now), but.... I've wanted to use an Instant Pot for years. I've heard from family how good it is, and my mom, who is one of the best home cooks I've ever met, swears by it to the point that soon after I was married, she gifted me one. The problem stems from the fact that growing up, I watched the older style (and frankly somewhat sketchy if I'm being honest) Pressure Cookers, and Pressure Canners, working, and they scared the crumb out of me. I joke about it being a scarring experience, but in all honesty...... Just the "pressure cooker" association with the Instant Pot has been enough to scare me away, much less the hissing and the worrisome noises it can make. I've watched family members use the pot, which has helped calm me down, but your video, and the happy and relaxed way you messed with it, explained it's different parts, and the clear and easy way you easily messed with the quick release knob did a huge amount to calm me down. So thank you so much for your help. I have been feeling awful for having the Instant Pot, (An expensive kitchen tool), and just keeping it locked in my cupboard because it scared me. So I made a goal this month to get more comfortable with my Instant Pot, and even purposefully found recipes, and bought ingredients for to complete that goal. Watching your video has made it that much less stressful for me to go ahead and get dinner made, so thank you!
I'd like to thank you very very much for your video. I just got a new one and had no instructions on how to do anything with it. You made everything extremely clear you did a very very good job unexplaining and kept it simple thank you very much.
I had been meaning to buy an instant pot and I am always used to a normal pressure cooker. Yet hate to wait and count the whistles. I loved how informative this was and your analogies helped me understand it a bit more!! Thanks so much ❤❤❤
I purchase one today and thoroughly enjoyed your instructions. You are a natural teacher. Thanks so much for taking the time to do these videos. Louisiana
I have had a Insta Pot for awhile now and have never used. Been terrified of it. But your video has given me some confidence. Your video is also the first video that I have seen that has gone into detail about what noises it makes. I will be trying the Insta Pot for the first time this week. Thank you for making such an amazing video.
I love you soooooo much, grateful I found you you are a godsend! I now have three Instant Pots, love love love them, I have been using two 6 qt's and recently bought the 10 qt because I cook for my critters in bulk. I have been using these for about a year now, started with a stove top pressure cooker and it exploded sending it in the air crashing down to my floor I still find chicken bits in my kitchen from this and it scared me to death. I was totally hesitant to purchase the Instant Pot from that experience, I am grateful I did and now after time I now totally trust these and only buy this brand! I have not been able to find add'l insert pots for the 10 qt even on Instant Pot's site, if someone can direct me where to buy another one, I like to have backups I would be grateful. Love to you and everyone!
So new to instant pot .. had 3 disasters already with cooking (not a fan of cooking 😑) I wish I came across your video earlier!!! Loved how u explained everything in detail.. x
Thanks for this video. I recently purchased my IP and have been anxious to use it but this video explains a lot and i am now confident to use it for the first time :).
OMGoodness I Just Brought An Instant Pot And I’m So Grateful For Your Support And Knowledge! I Love All Your TH-cam Videos So Much! Thank You So Much For Sharing ❤
Watched more recent video first where you mentioned that some didn’t like the background music so I had to watch. I wavered between mostly not even noticing it to actually liking it. It was pleasant.
THANK YOU! I've had mine for a couple years now but have not used it because I think I'll blow my kitchen up. You've taken the mystery out of it and given a thorough explanation to get me started.
Thank you so much for going step-by-step on how to get comfortable with an instant pot. I watched several videos that did not start at naming the parts and how to do a first test. You are a natural teacher and I appreciate your instruction!
I just received my IP Duo today as a belated Christmas gift from me to me and it was priced as $50 to boot. Now I have to get comfortable with and learn to use a new gadget more complicated than on/off or high/low buttons. I very much appreciate your detailed tutorial for newbies like me.
I just got my Instant Pot (Black Friday sale). I figured I’d see what TH-cam had for a “101” before I cracked open that instruction manual. So happy to find this channel! I really appreciate the thorough, detailed instruction (without being TOO detailed and confusing) It makes total sense. I feel ready to start my Instant Pot cooking adventure now. Subscribed!
Wow! What a great job you've done with this video! You were absolutely professional and knowledgeable. You spoke at a speed that makes it easy for listeners who are learning to follow. (some people speak too quickly when teaching - it makes it a bit harder to learn). You covered the functions and user tips. I have a different brand of electric pressure cooker, but I found tips that still apply. Thanks!
Thank you for you calm, concise video. I received my instant pot for Christmas & the first video I watched terrified me, I was going to return it. You’ve done a beautiful job throughly explaining everything. Excellent! I’m watching all your videos!🤗
Thanks for sharing! I had repacked my instant pot for returning when I happened upon your video. There's hope! Now I think I might get the hang of using it. It is so intimidating, but you've managed to lessen the fear and confusion.💞👍🏻😊
I'm watching from Germany. Your tips came just at the right time for me because I'm going to buy the 8L Version now. Thank you so much for your videos. They are so helpfull to me because I don't know anyone who owns the IP. You explain everything so well and clearly, it sounds really easy now. :) 👌👍🙏🤗
thats how i felt about my Chefman pot. i was so excited to get it as a present and then got worried about damaging smth or burning.. glad i found your channel!
Thank you. I am cooking with an instant pot for the first time now. It went on warm up and I wasn't sure if it was working. I found your video by typing in "how do I know my instant pot started". So far so good. Thank you for the tips.
So glad I found you! Thank you so much for walking me through it! I was so afraid to use it. The instructions that came with it were not helpful, at all! Now I feel at ease!❤
So happy I found your channel and held my hand through the water test. I just purchased the instapot duo 6 qt. I haven't used a pressure cooker for a long time. My tried and tested stove top pressure cooker has not seen the light of day for years. I am looking forward to watching more of your videos to get me comfortable with my new electric pressure cooker.
You are awesome! I’ve made your stew a few times! Great every time! Now I will try the pork shoulder! You give good directions, easy to follow. Who ever films it does a great job! I can actually see what you are doing. It helps! Thank you for making dinner fun and easy!
Hi Lisa, Thank you very much for creating the Instant Pot videos. Thanks to your great video presentations I am learning how to use my Instant Pot after it sat on the counter for months. I cannot wait to try some of your Instant Pot recipes. Again, great job...thank you! Ann M. Maine
Thank you! I am not an instant pot fan but need to try it as everyone loves cooking in it. As a food blogger, I must get with the times! LOL I am honestly a control freak in my kitchen and want to be able to see the cooking process. You were super helpful and informative in explaining how it works. I appreciate it. Gracias!
I started watching your videos and that gave me the courage to take my IP out of the box, and start using it- I was so worried about using a pressure cooker. I started with something simple, as you suggested and my hard boiled eggs were perfect the first time. I was hooked! Thank you!!😁
This is a great video! Santa brought me an Instant Pot on Christmas here in Gainesville, FL. I’m a newbie to the pressure cooking world. I resisted getting one for awhile because I am an avid crockpot cooker (I own 3 large ones and a small one for dips/sauces). After watching this video, I’m totally excited to try this new way of cooking!
Thank you for your video. I’ve had my instant pot for over a year and only used it once and messed up and haven’t touched it again. I’m ready to start now that I’ve watched your video!
You're video is super helpful, thank you! I'm following a recipe and have no clue what to do with this instant pot my husband just got me and had to watch this and really saved me from a disaster!
I finally got the lid- accidentally on right. I just put everything I could learn together & now I have to see if I can do it again on purpose. I couldn't understand how she was putting the lid on at all!!!
Thanks so much for this! I just got an Instant Pot and didn't have a clue how to use it. The manual that came with it was pretty much worthless. I now have a basic understanding of how to use this thing! I will be checking out your other videos shortly!
Awesome job on explaining everything. I have had the Instant Pot IP-LUX for over a year now. I took mine out of the box last week, and I just done the water test today. You make everything seem so easy. I love ribs, was wondering if you would do a video on baby back ribs. Again awesome job explaining everything. Tennessee here.
I just got my new Duo today, and this was very helpful and made me feel confident I wouldn't blow the place up doing my first turkey breast dinner! Thanks, Lisa.
Thank you for this video. When my daughter gifted me with an Instant Pot for the holidays and since it's a pressure cooker I was terrified. I made my first meal in it yesterday and love it already
Loved this. You are an angel sent. Your title is spot on. Scared. I was given one as a late Christmas gift by my sister who recognized how busy my life and routine are. And I have been scared to use. I read in bookstore some recipe books but you are so personable and explained so simply I will definitely try to use it over this weekend 💕thank you
I got this as a gift and wanted to know more about it other than the manual and your vedio is amazing I’m not scared to use it anymore. Thank you so much
I don’t know if you read comments on older videos, but I received mine as a Christmas gift and just used it for the first time in March! It was so much being intimidated by it as much as I HATE reading instruction manuals. I’m a visual learner and I love your videos. My only question is I was using the sauté feature and wanted to lower the heat. My model doesn’t have an adjust button.
I’ve had my instant pot for about 4 months and have been too scared to use it 😅 thank you so much for this video!!! Just made something by myself for the first time today 😊
Whew.... Bravo Lisa, you made the directions so simple! I've had my Instant Pot for 3 months now, boxed and neatly placed, waiting to be opened and used. Today's the day but I needed instructions and found You... can you hear the angels singing "Ahhhhhh!" Your thorough review covered Errrthang, and boy am I so thankful for your channel. Yup, you got a new subie, I'm gonna watch your "best things to make" next. Thank you for simplifying the process!
Hi Lisa, Watching from Orlando, fl. Just found you today and I'm glad I did! Your videos are very informative and you explain things so simply. I especially enjoyed your video on accessories. I have Subscribed.
Hi lisa .. from London, Uk . I’m glad I came across ur video for the beginners and tips on how to use . Earlier today, I’ve tried boiling potatoes 🥔 for the first time, and I got it all wrong , as there’s no boil function. But I guess ur videos are very helpful, and I’m determined to get it right .. I’ve also just subscribed . Thank you
Love your videos! I just got my pot for Christmas and have really enjoyed getting to “know” it! Your videos have by far been the easiest for me to learn from. Would love to see more recipe videos! Keep up the good work!
Hi Lisa! THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this video! I just received an IP for Christmas and was very intimidated by it and didn't take it out of the box for days 😅You made it so easy to follow and understand the concepts, so I thought I'd leave a comment here (which I never do, ever) because it was that good! I really appreciate it and will be watching your other videos. I just wanted to drop a thank you here!
@ Betsie Martin ME too! I asked for & got mine for Christmas. Then when I saw it& how intimidating it was, all I did was take it out of the box & let it sit on counter.. UNTIL I saw this great video & tried it this eve.
Thank you for this video. I have just got an IP for my birthday and I’m about to use it for the first time. How you use the sauté function and releasing pressure are so insightful. I really appreciate your video.
Thank you so much it was very helpful for me. I am a very good cook but was not thought to use pressure cooker. My mom is old school she always looked down at pressure cooker and encouraged and taught me very delicious foods but not in cooker. Now life is very busy and I bought instant pot but doesn't know how to use it. Now I can use it well.
Get the IP App for your smartphone or tablet. Check out hippressurecooking.com. It has the best pressure cooking information online! Good info: Beans, Meat, etc. Manuals, science behind pressure cooking, product comparisons, etc.
Hi everyone! Merry Christmas! Thanks for watching. Let me know where you're watching from and if you have any questions for me! - Lisa
NJ. Ultra 80. Still trying recipes! Made Pot Roast & vegs (yum), spaghetti, egg bites (supercharged), 555, rice/beans/diced tomatoes, etc.
Let's put a couple of paper plates or a dinner plate on top of the pot when we remove the inner pot! Problem solved-eh?
Watching from middle Georgia!
Taking notes! Thanks so much!
Watching from Mililani, Hawaii! Thanks for all the great tips! 👍🏼

Thank you for you calm, concise video. I received my instant pot for Christmas & the first video I watched terrified me, I was going to return it. You’ve done a beautiful job throughly explaining everything. Excellent! I’m watching all your videos!🤗
You answered a lot of my questions! You explain it all very well. I'm totally new to this. Thanks for the great info!
Glad it was helpful!
Yes, your video is helpful. I will watch and rewatch them.
Ohhhhhh....thank you so much; I have been looking at my new cooker for two days and now I feel confident to actually use it!!!
Thank you for teaching me how to use my Instant Pot.
I just got one for Christmas and had zero clue how to use this, until I found you. 😊
Success!! 🙌
I always use a wooden spoon to do a quick release lol. That steam scares me! 🙅🏼♀️
🤭🤣
X2
Hehhehehe me too 🤣
Thanks for sharing! I had repacked my instant pot for returning when I happened upon your video. There's hope! Now I think I might get the hang of using it. It is so intimidating, but you've managed to lessen the fear and confusion.💞👍🏻😊
I like the way you add analogies, makes things easier to understand!
Thanks for ur information
I bought my instant pot long time ago but I haven’t started using it bc i was scared
Now i am going to start using it🥰
I'm watching from Germany.
That is exactly why I'm here as well. 😆

Thank you! I am not an instant pot fan but need to try it as everyone loves cooking in it. As a food blogger, I must get with the times! LOL
I am honestly a control freak in my kitchen and want to be able to see the cooking process. You were super helpful and informative in explaining how it works. I appreciate it. Gracias!
Aw, thanks so much, friend!
Aww yay, Maryann! Thanks so much for watching. I promise you'll be converted soon!
So much more helpful than the manuals! Thank you!
Excellent explanation!! Thank you.
Thank you for your video. I’ve had my instant pot for over a year and only used it once and messed up and haven’t touched it again. I’m ready to start now that I’ve watched your video!
Best basics video on how to use! Looking forward to the next videos you mentioned!
You're video is super helpful, thank you! I'm following a recipe and have no clue what to do with this instant pot my husband just got me and had to watch this and really saved me from a disaster!
Good job! Sometimes I can get mine to cook perfect and sometimes not. So I decided to look for a how to video. You were great!
Just got my Instant Pot a day ago. Your video was clear, well explained and even answered some questions I didn't know I had. Thanks!
Your instructions and comparing stove, microwave of to the usage of the instant pot was awesome thank you. Excellent instructions
I appreciated that part too
Omggg you're such a lifesaver. Lol i have been trying to put the lid on for like 30 mins. I was sooo frustrated! Thanks so much, Lisa!!! 😚
I finally got the lid- accidentally on right. I just put everything I could learn together & now I have to see if I can do it again on purpose. I couldn't understand how she was putting the lid on at all!!!
She's super cute and her instructions are super easy to follow. Thank you very much.
Thanks so much for this! I just got an Instant Pot and didn't have a clue how to use it. The manual that came with it was pretty much worthless. I now have a basic understanding of how to use this thing! I will be checking out your other videos shortly!
Just bought my Instapot and so glad I found your channel. It helps alot. I can’t wait to try mine.
Now I m so ready to buy a instant pot, and cook with it. Thank you.
❤ great presentation and easy instructions on the insta pot use! 😊
Thankyou thankyou thankyou.....treated myself to an electric pressure cooker for Christmas and thankfully found you..x
Absolutely I will do a video this year! here's my. recipe! triedtestedandtrue.com/the-best-instant-pot-bbq-ribs/
@@Lisa.Childs Thank you for the recipe. I'm going to try these ribs. I think you do an awesome job. Thanks again for the recipe.
You are awesome. I would be so freakin lost without these videos!
Great job Lisa. That was a big help for me. You have a nice voice and explained very well. Thanks
EXCELLENT instructor!!!! Definitely subscribing! Brava!
What a great instructor!
I just got my instant pot and your videos are wonderful!! Thanks so much.
Thank you Lisa, you are a joy to watch.
You have helped my InstantPot phobia
tremendously!
Thanks for the sharing! I'm going to order my very first instant pot.
I just got my new Duo today, and this was very helpful and made me feel confident I wouldn't blow the place up doing my first turkey breast dinner! Thanks, Lisa.
Was it Hiroshima at your place or you survive your first Instant Pot dinner? I'm about to use mine for the first time tonight.
@@davidwhite206I'm guessing it was Hiroshima considering no response!
@@kevinwilson2746 Haha, quite possibly! I love using mine when I can. Makes most foods easily and quick as hell also.
Thank you for this video. When my daughter gifted me with an Instant Pot for the holidays and since it's a pressure cooker I was terrified. I made my first meal in it yesterday and love it already
Excellent vídeo! It’s very thorough and easy to understand! Thank you!
Thanks for the helpful video Lisa!
Couldn't help noticing your sparkling nail polish!! 💅
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I just purchased the 8 quart Instant Pot and watching this has really helped me. Thanks again.
I love the way you communicate it is what I understand. I’m a huge fan
You are so welcome! Oh my goodness this comment made my day! thank you!
@@Lisa.Childs THANK YOU n plz just continue to do your thing Grl! 🙏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾♥️
Thank you for the video! I just bought the wife and I one today. Im pumped to start using it!
Thank you
I want to thank you for your videos they helped me when I first used my instant pot
Glad it was helpful!
So glad I found your awasome tutorial! Just got mine today and there was no manual included! You made this easy to understand!!
Watching from Northern California! No questions yet, as I got got my pot this afternoon. Merry Christmas!
Ninethree O'Five thanks so much for watching!! Merry Christmas!!
Get the IP App for your smartphone or tablet. Check out hippressurecooking.com. It has the best pressure cooking information online! Good info: Beans, Meat, etc. Manuals, science behind pressure cooking, product comparisons, etc.
So good! Thanks for the virtual hand-holding. It got my unused IP out of the pantry and into work. Xoxo
Wow a job well done. I have this pot over 2 years and am now ready to use it, thanks.
