This is just beautiful I had to follow step by step and rewind ,yes the last 3 rows were confusing until I realized I had to cut the thread and do each one separate. I gave 6 away as Christmas gifts.
Good Morning Joanna I finally finished the doily. The size ended being a Center piece. I’m so excited because now I can ship it off to my friend in Fernley, Nevada. Well just to share that with you. Out here in Crestview, Florida it’s 85 and Sunny. Thank You once again for all your time with your creativity. God bless
i made a white doily using this pattern and my mom loved it so much she asked for two to put on her coffee tables , thx for the beautiful video and your clear instructions ... love you
Hi you have been a breath of fresh air for me. I have always wanted to make this pineapple doillie since i was a young girl. After my grandmother past i had no one to show me or teach me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. God bless you ❤❤
I’m sorry to hear about the passing of your grandmother. It’s wonderful to hear you have picked up your crochet hook and my tutorial was helpful. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Joanna I just figured it out by watching the last 3 steps. Of this beautiful Doily. Thank You for sharing your time once again. Raining off and on here in Crestview, Florida
Made a couple of these doiley in different sizes and would like to thank you! You are an excellent teacher, l have crocheted for years and still depend on tutorials, please do some more doileys,so l can also follow them. Thanks, and happy crocheting!😉
I have several patterns I want to do a video on. I’m very happy you like my videos. Have you seen my other doilies? Your complements are so great to hear, thank you. And thank you for watching and commenting. 💖🌸🌸🌸
I am working on my second doily in this pattern. Gotta say I'm a little addicted. It flows very nicely. I am using super saver ombre yarn and they come out gorgeous. Perfect for back of couch
I’m very happy to hear this Tamara! Thank you for watching and commenting. If you’re on Facebook or IG be sure to tag me so I can see your work. @JonnaMartinezCrochet
I just finished this doily.. made in 3ply acrylic and 3mm hook.and also added pearls over periphery at the tips of pineapples and shells..turned out to b lovely..I wished I cud show u..u wud b proud🙂 thankyou for a good tutorial.love from india..
Your doily is so beautiful, I tried to get it smaller but it didn’t work, can you please please do some smaller doilies please even pine apples are great luv you jonna
Thanks for the pattern and walk through tutorials. This was super easy to follow along. I’ve used the pattern to create a table cover that I’m really proud of. Thanks so much
I just finished. This is incredible pattern . Thank you very much for your wonderful video. I learned a lot. It's very clear video. God bless you. Thank you very much again.
Thank you so much. I am using this as a skirt to a baby dress I am making and was able to figure out most of the written pattern but got stuck on round 29. I looked everywhere for corrections to the pattern and finally came across this tutorial. Now I can finnish my dress. THANK YOU!
Love this series. Thank you for a well made video. I completed the cloth using aunt Lydia size 3 (4 balls) 620 yds. Hook size 3.75mm f/5. Next time I would use a smaller hook size 2 maybe for a tighter stitch. Would love to see a pattern with just ending in pineapples at row 26. Leaving out the fill in 26 to 30. You are an excellent instructor. Thank you 🇨🇦
It's really beautiful work. I made a doily follow your pattern and I am so excited and feel happy . Thanks for sharing . Next I also made another pattern follow your videos. Lots of blessing 💖💖💖
Thank so much for sharing this video as I was looking for this kind. It easy to follow and learn. I loved it so much. I have been following the instructions from part1 and part2 and half way done this.
Thank you very much for your wonderful video, it is very clear and this is the first time I've seen a tutorial video. Be l learned it step by step. Thanks again.
Row 33is very confusing, cos how can v jump to the next pineapple to make da crown/pico stitch? Should v cut the yarn n join it again to move to the next pineapple to complete ?
FYI : I️ used Aunt Lydia crochet cotton thread SIZE 10 and used 1.4 mm steel crochet hook and it's 21 1/2 inches This is absolutely beautiful pattern ! This is my second one
I did not understand finishing last stitch of this pattern can you please explain little better how can I go around and finish very last row, thank you in advance.
Nadia Melek Miller I don't understand that part either. did you mean when she did one set of picots and turn, how did she continue to do the others, I'm confused too
I see what you are talking about. It seems that each pineapple top has to be finished individually, tying off and restarting at next pineapple point. So 1 shell in shell would be one round & after turn your work & do shell in shell (it's the same 1 shell) and turn your work & do finishing stitch.
Love your videos, you are so easy to follow. Would you have any tutorials for oval doilies? All the pretty ones are not in English and would like to make one for my sister❤️
Hi Jonna , i have a request.... I absolutely love this pattern , i have made 4 of these using #3 thread and #10 thread ... And it is gorgeous. I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on the "Petite Pineapple Doily " the pattern is free on ravelry by Priscilla Hewitt ..it is a smaller doily with the pineapple pattern . Someone else did a tutorial on it and it's terrible , it's not a complete tutorial and it is unclear and I've been crocheting for a long time . The doily is so pretty ... Your tutorials are so clear and so enjoyable , i would really love it .. Dawn
Good morning Jonna, I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart, for saving my sanity......I had tried and failed, more times than I dare to remember, to do round 29 from the written pattern I had, I then found and watched your wonderful, step by step. idiot proof instructions and hay presto....I might add that the written pattern I have (no names mentioned) was completely and utterly wrong...many, many thanks. yours very grateful. Sandra Potts
That is so great!! I’m happy you liked the tutorial. If you would like to share photos you can post them to my Facebook page Siena’s Maine Design. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Hi, thanks for the great video, it got me past a few tricky points in the pattern! I have made it in 13 thread and it’s pretty big, I was just wondering how big it is in the DK yarn you used? Thanks Lisa. :)
Edit: I found my mistake 6 rows back I somehow reversed it. I don’t know how I manage that. A weeks worth of work. At least it’s easier to rip out and fix then lace knitting. Thanks for the video. I do wish the rows were stamped and easier to find in video…. I love how easy you explain the pattern. Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇨🇦 Hi thanks for the great tutorial on this pineapple doily. I tried a similar one when I was about 9 years old. I am in my 50s now. I only made it half way. Then got lost in the pattern. You made it so easy! I do however have a question for rows 20 and onwards mine just keeps going in a circle. I used to slip stitch and chain up. But somewhere along the way it doesn’t do that anymore. I am on the Cain 7 loop in the second pineapple round. I don’t know where I went wrong. It still works out. I want to do another in ombré colour. I think that would be cool.. will you be doing any more larger pineapple doilies?
hello I love your tutorial but I don't understand the row that you did the picot, you fastened it off but you didn't explain how to get to the next set for the picot. am I suppose to rejoin the yarn for each picot or do I continue to go around. plz reply back because I am stuck
I’m really happy you liked this tutorial! Yes. Compleat row 31,32&33. Then fasten off. From there finish each pineapple point using those rows again. You will have to re-fasten the yarn for the remaining points. Thank you for watching and commenting. I hope this gives more clarity. 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Hi Joanna, firstly I'd like to thank you for providing a very clear, high quality tutorial. I am making this pattern into a rug using t-shirt yarn; when I reach approximately row 18 (closing off the first pinapples) the doily begins to curl up from the edges and will no longer lay flat. I have undid my work twice after reaching half way and resorted to doing a practice version using worsted weight yarn and a 4.5mm hook, however the same thing is happening. I was just wondering if this is normal and if it would flatten out as i continued or if there is a problem what it possibly could be. Also please note i have made the pattern smaller by starting with 12 D.C's in the intial ring instead of 24, I'm not sure if this could be the cause. Thank you so much in advance
Making it smaller at the beginning would be my guess for the curling issues. Why are you going with 12 I instead of 24? I would LOVE to see your work if you care to share. I’ve been wanting to try t shirt yarn and this pattern but keep running out of time. Haha. If you’d like to share photos you can message me or post to my Facebook page Siena’s Maine Design. Or my Etsy shop. Thank you for watching and commenting. Lots of luck. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Jonna Martinez thank you so much i originally began with 24 but by the time i reached row 12 the rug was already 1m in diameter hence my decision to make it smaller
Oh wow that is big. Maybe try 18? Or use a bulky 5 yarn instead of that extremely thick T shirt yarn? You know this yarn I used was a light worsted in my opinion. (3) like DK. Not really worsted. (4) so using a truly 10ply (4) worsted and an I or J hook and 24 stitches you might get what you’re looking for.... I hope this works out!
Love this so much, I download the pattern on raverly. I noticed in your notes you had row 29. Is that a correction for just that row? Some said row 30. Is the pattern on raverly a corrected and updated one. My daughter would love this.
I do not own the pattern to update it, so the pattern on Ravelry is the pattern I have. Once you get to that round just follow the tutorial. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I'm definitely going to do this with size 3 thread and a 2.5mm hook. How large did yours come out to? Beautiful and excellent instructions as always!💖👏👏👏🌷🖒
I did mine in purple and white. I used a 5.0 needle and it got really big so put it on my couch😊. 🪡 size makes a huge difference. Thanks for the tutorial.
Hi, wonderful video this is my first time on ur channel and I am so happy that I got it. I want to try this pattern it looks that I am going to have a great time.i was just wondering if you could tell me how much yarn or thread I have to buy in all for a complete the dolly
I used about five 200 yard balls of yarn. I hope you get to make one! Make sure to check out my blog for more photos of my doily. Jonnamartinez.com Thank you for watching and commenting.
+Donna Pilant I'm sorry but I don't know if it would work with out trying for myself, and I am very booked. Maybe there is another pattern that goes bigger? Try searching for a pineapple table cloth. Thank you for watching and commenting.
+Donna Pilant well, you know for the second set of pineapples on this doily there is 9 loops instead of 7? Well you could try increasing the next set to 11...... or you need to somehow open up more spaces for more pineapples. It's defiantly a challenge.
This is just beautiful I had to follow step by step and rewind ,yes the last 3 rows were confusing until I realized I had to cut the thread and do each one separate. I gave 6 away as Christmas gifts.
May I ask how do I add the yarn in for the other separate points?
Need your help too
Good Morning Joanna I finally finished the doily. The size ended being a Center piece. I’m so excited because now I can ship it off to my friend in Fernley, Nevada. Well just to share that with you. You are excellent teacher.
Hi jonna, i have finished this pattern, thank you for your video, i love so much this pattern
Hi! I’m very happy to hear this! This is a big project to finish. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I did not understand finishing last stitch of this pattern can you please explain little better how can I go around and finish very last row, thank you in advance.
Nadia Melek Miller I don't understand that part either. did you mean when she did one set of picots and turn, how did she continue to do the others, I'm confused too
Shelia johnson, me too and how did she do, but last row, im made my own, and its complete for me..
I see what you are talking about. It seems that each pineapple top has to be finished individually, tying off and restarting at next pineapple point. So 1 shell in shell would be one round & after turn your work & do shell in shell (it's the same 1 shell) and turn your work & do finishing stitch.

Thank You for Sharing you’re pattern I love it and enjoyed doing tutorial with you
This is a beautiful doily. And your direction on how to do it was great. Do you have a smaller version for end tables or coffee table. Thank you
I do not. But you can make this smaller by using lace weight yarn instead of worsted weight like I used. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Hi Joanna. How big did it turn out with the weight yarn? This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Have a Yarntastic beautiful day 🧶 ❤

Hi Jonna M I have completed the Dolly which you showed on TH-cam with 3parts the Dolly has come out very well.
This is wonderful! Thank you so much for watching and stopping back to leave a comment.

Yes. Compleat row 31,32&33. Then fasten off.
From there finish each pineapple point using those rows again.
You will have to re-fasten the yarn for the remaining points.

I hope this gives more clarity.

Great tutorial but how do you continue the pattern to make it into a tablecloth?
I nee to do 2 more rows of pineapples. At minimum 1. Can you sho us how to expand this pattern please?
+Donna Pilant I'm sorry but I don't know if it would work with out trying for myself, and I am very booked.
Maybe there is another pattern that goes bigger?
Try searching for a pineapple table cloth.

Jonna Martinez can you give me some ideas so I can try it. Cause what I have here is too dhort.
+Donna Pilant well, you know for the second set of pineapples on this doily there is 9 loops instead of 7?
Well you could try increasing the next set to 11......
or you need to somehow open up more spaces for more pineapples.
It's defiantly a challenge.
I loved this pattern until row 33. I'm making another one but I'm changing rows 30-33.
That’s wonderful! I would love to see your work on my Facebook page if you like.
