@@darpe.d5603 it's specifically when you break a frozen enemy with a heavy attack like a claymore or Candace's shield (explosion and plunge attack as well I think?) and iirc it scales off of Elemental mastery to some extent. It's not a particularly strong reaction and it's extremely niche because only characters like Chongyun and Candace can do anything with shatter, so Freminet is the first character specifically designed to do shatter damage.
Best Freminet guide I've seen by far. The other content creators seens to be in a speedrun to say if the character is bad or not, instead of focus of what it gives among the flexible kit and unique playstayle. Thank you Sevy, keep up the good work!

@@UOHCUNY His playstyle with multiple layers of elemental skill is similar to Diluc's (one thing i like about Diluc). Combined with the fresh focus on Shatter. The interaction with his burst regarding damage amplification also seems really engaging in combat.

Yeah, we typically only get one new 4* on field DPS per year, Yanfei during 2.x, Kaveh during 3.x, and Freminet now. It's also just neat that we're getting characters leaning towards underused niches, like mono element and shatter

As a Eula main i know a baby 4 star Eula when i see one. Looks like SoBP will probably be his BiS weapon for Phys build along with Yelan or Xingqui for the hydro application to take advantage of the shatter ascension passive. Even the burst resetting your E CD followed by a short NA string and then your E again is exactly like Eula's. Looks fun to play hope i get him after burning all my wishes on Yelan and Lynette.

I'm so excited for Freminet as a Chongyun main; the second I heard he would be a cryo claymore I knew I needed him. Then with his penguin motif (my siblings' favorite animal) made me want him even more. And now hearing his kit and constellations, I absolutely 100% need him cuz I feel like he'll synergize so frikken well with the other characters I have built, Chongyun especially. This could be game-changing for me if I get him to C6 as it'd give me an actual reason to utilize Shatter damage 😭💙
I've seen a few guides on him and yours is the best I've seen. Clear, concise and explained well while providing the details on screen and not just verbally. Definitely worth coming back to for guides!!
I just picked him up and leveled him up to 60. 4 piece pale flame and level 80 Serpent's spine. He is stupidly easy to use. His rotation is a lot of fun. Kind of refreshing after some of the overly-complicated Sumeru characters. I am actually looking forward to what he can do when I level him all the way up.

You could say the same thing for pretty much almost every other Claymore Character in the Game, lol. The only ones who tend to struggle a little are Razor (Who’s doing his best to keep his balance, but almost loses it and his feet go flying on his last hit.) and Sayu (Who has some trouble lifting hers despite her training, as she mentions that her Vision helps her a lot.), but regardless, they are still as strong in the strength they have as they are strong in their hearts.
Yay! Finally a claymore making use of shattering! Hahaha. I like how versatile he is. It's kinda sad the three of them doesn't synergy too well together besides being brothers

I got c0 Zhongli (guaranted) and c1 Freminet. Currently building them both in a team and i had fun playing with them. Moreover, I'm farming tenicity for Zhongli so i'm building Freminet as physical unit at the moment. LOVE YOUR GUIDE❤
I fell in love with his design and fell even more when knowing his playstyle, hoyo is finally fiddling with more unique and versitile characters instead of rigid one-playstyle characters. hes not meta currently, but playing him feels so fun unlike most on-field dps, which is why i hate that most creators chuck him into the "bad characters" box just because hes not very viable for abyss. i do hope hoyo is exploring more stuff in the future, and that they could prioritize more fun kits like freminet more in future updates. overall fun character, also he's just a cutie! 10/10 for fremi

I totally forgot Rosaria shreds physical! Her, Mika, Freminet and an electro unit... probably Fischl or Beidou, I'll have to see who synergizes better. Or Dori, actually.
Curious how running him with the thundering fury set would work with full E spam superconduct reactions during his burst. Dunno how good it might be but it sounds fun. Throw in shenhe, fischl and a hydro character that sounds like a good time at least to mess around with.

I've loved playing shatterbloom with Kaveh before (want him to be full bloom in the future when I get Nilou) so having a unit who seems purposefully made to take advantage of the shatter reaction will be a nice replacement :) He might not be meta but the game gets so boring if you only focus on that and don't have at least a few teams using fun and unique synergies.
I would definitely pull for him because his kit looks interesting if it wasn’t that I’m at 70 wished and really want Neuvillette and Furina 😭. Hope he comes back soon.

I haven’t been a big user of claymore characters because of how impatient I am with the time is takes to swing the weapon but Freminet’s play style feels less slow and looks very cool so I’m excited to be building my first claymore :3
Seems too complicated to play compared to most characters. But I love that aswell for players who like this combo attack style it seems really fun and new

Freminet is not what I call a "bad" character, he can be decent, I just don't think he lives off the hype for most people comparing those of Lyney and Lynette, thus I like him, such a shy boy and I like his voice in ENG and JP (If you play Project Sekai you'll know what I mean in JP) he is unique but not technically as favorable, I like how he uses the helmet as a Elemental Skill, what really surprises me is that Hoyoverse are really giving these recent characters some animal companions, the penguin is just adorable far alone.
@@potatopcgamer739he is the first dedicated mono pyro unit, he definitely appeals to certain audience because of his visual and personality, and he performs great within his niche and usable even in vape. He is definitely wanted by a lot of people. Other mono pyro teams exist just because they cant vape properly (dehya klee) its nice to have a dedicated character in a niche comp.
For Freminet, my go-to artifact set is 2pc bloodstained and 2pc pale flame with a physical goblet. I don't have a good enough pale flame set to utilize the 4pc bonus (still farming for a good circlet and sands). Weapon of choice is either serpent spine (with crit damage circlet) or UOMMS (with crit rate circlet). Fav GS is a notable option if I'm not running a suitable battery. As far as team comps go, I use Fremmy with Layla, EMC, and Shinobu unless I'm feeling experimental. Layla protects him, Shinobu heals and provides constant electro apps for SC reactions, and EMC provides plenty of energy when I don't feel like using UOMMS or Fav GS since SS is clearly the better dps option. Either Layla or Shinobu can be replaced with a hydro user, such as XQ. Now, obviously, EMC can be replaced with Raiden, and Layla with Zhongli, both of which I have and properly built, but I personally don't because of a self-imposed rule I made for myself: all teams must have the Traveler in it, and no 5 star characters allowed (except Traveler, though it's arguable whether s/he is a 5 star character).

I already have Eula, so I won't be pulling for him. But he does seem super fun to play, and I do like him in the story so far. If I didn't have Eula, think I'd run him with Mika, Yelan and Raiden (which is my Eula team).
It would be a niche but its going to be funny if building him in a literal split scaling like an artifact of 2ps blizzard 2ps physical dmg bonus + physical bonus claymore with cryo goblet

Thanks for the review! I just got a copy of him, and currently loving his playstyle unexpectedly. Also, I'd like to share that the Inazuma claymore works really well with Freminet. And at high refinement, gaining energy is hardly an issue. I currently run him in a team with attackspeed buffs, and it's pretty fun.
Oh i'll try to get that claymore! (Katsuragikiri Nagamasa right?) It looks so pretty. Do you think it is better than the Prototype Archaic? It seems it has less ATK but more ER and Skill DMG (I'm a bit new to the game)
@@arian_motta I think the Archaic is okay if you have no troubles with his energy charging, and you value more his physical dmg. And yeah, the Nagamasa claymore looks pretty too with Freminet.
When first reading the skills, “converted to shattering pressure” really made me think he would be able to turn his normals into his skill attack, but alas this isn’t a 5 star, and even then might be too much
He's a fun character to use, when Cryo combo it made me think similar to Razor Burst (buff active and skill cooldown) and Cryo Diluc+Chongyun double E skill combo and repeat double E till run out of buffs. I follow the trial gear buffs on Freminet with 4pcs Blizzard Strayer + Royal Greatsword to improve both of his Cryo Skill, Burst and AA. A Crit ratio 1/2 has to do with the Royal Greatsword if you want to built full Crit dmg with a Circlet and other Crit dmg substats, plus a 2 Cryo unit resonance, or even a unit with crit passive buffs(like Rosaria).
When I saw him in the livestream I knew he was going to be better than his brother and sister his gameplay is far more engaging and that's swimming talent thank the heavens for it
I saw someone commenting that is using him solely for exploring underwater, so giving him HP% artifacts, the bell and you're set. I've tried it and it's pretty good for exploring: you can swim faster for a longer time due to his passive + have underwater shield due to The bell passive.

I'm actually so excited for Frem, its been awhile since Genshins had a character with such a unique kit, that can be viable with 2 play-styles.

I fell in love with his design and fell even more when knowing his playstyle, hoyo is finally fiddling with more unique and versitile characters instead of rigid one-playstyle characters. hes not meta currently, but playing him feels so fun unlike most on-field dps, which is why i hate that most creators chuck him into the "bad characters" box just because hes not very viable for abyss.
i do hope hoyo is exploring more stuff in the future, and that they could prioritize more fun kits like freminet more in future updates. overall fun character, also he's just a cutie! 10/10 for fremi
This is why I DO NOT listen to Theory crafters and wait for practical results from you. They Said Freminet looked really bad..but this video definitly prooves otherwise. For a 4star he doesn't look to bad at all.

Curious how running him with the thundering fury set would work with full E spam superconduct reactions during his burst. Dunno how good it might be but it sounds fun. Throw in shenhe, fischl and a hydro character that sounds like a good time at least to mess around with.

Thank you so much for making this video, my friend recommended it to me after I got Freminet and three of his constellations so it was a bit hard to understand his play style and what would be good him kit wise and what kind of artifacts that can be tossed to him. I've loved playing shatterbloom with Kaveh before (want him to be full bloom in the future when I get Nilou) so having a unit who seems purposefully made to take advantage of the shatter reaction will be a nice replacement :) He might not be meta but the game gets so boring if you only focus on that and don't have at least a few teams using fun and unique synergies.
I would definitely pull for him because his kit looks interesting if it wasn’t that I’m at 70 wished and really want Neuvillette and Furina 😭. Hope he comes back soon.

Cool thing about Freminet is now my Layla has absolute shooting star uptime with her shield getting double the stars with every skill use.

I haven’t been a big user of claymore characters because of how impatient I am with the time is takes to swing the weapon but Freminet’s play style feels less slow and looks very cool so I’m excited to be building my first claymore :3
Seems too complicated to play compared to most characters. But I love that aswell for players who like this combo attack style it seems really fun and new

Freminet is not what I call a "bad" character, he can be decent, I just don't think he lives off the hype for most people comparing those of Lyney and Lynette, thus I like him, such a shy boy and I like his voice in ENG and JP (If you play Project Sekai you'll know what I mean in JP) he is unique but not technically as favorable, I like how he uses the helmet as a Elemental Skill, what really surprises me is that Hoyoverse are really giving these recent characters some animal companions, the penguin is just adorable far alone.

@@potatopcgamer739he is the first dedicated mono pyro unit, he definitely appeals to certain audience because of his visual and personality, and he performs great within his niche and usable even in vape. He is definitely wanted by a lot of people. Other mono pyro teams exist just because they cant vape properly (dehya klee) its nice to have a dedicated character in a niche comp.
I'm planning to build him focusing on Cryo DMG with Layla, Xingqiu and Maybe Fischl/ Kokomi. Not quite sure it will work.

For Freminet, my go-to artifact set is 2pc bloodstained and 2pc pale flame with a physical goblet. I don't have a good enough pale flame set to utilize the 4pc bonus (still farming for a good circlet and sands). Weapon of choice is either serpent spine (with crit damage circlet) or UOMMS (with crit rate circlet). Fav GS is a notable option if I'm not running a suitable battery.
As far as team comps go, I use Fremmy with Layla, EMC, and Shinobu unless I'm feeling experimental. Layla protects him, Shinobu heals and provides constant electro apps for SC reactions, and EMC provides plenty of energy when I don't feel like using UOMMS or Fav GS since SS is clearly the better dps option. Either Layla or Shinobu can be replaced with a hydro user, such as XQ.
Now, obviously, EMC can be replaced with Raiden, and Layla with Zhongli, both of which I have and properly built, but I personally don't because of a self-imposed rule I made for myself: all teams must have the Traveler in it, and no 5 star characters allowed (except Traveler, though it's arguable whether s/he is a 5 star character).

Also, I'd like to share that the Inazuma claymore works really well with Freminet. And at high refinement, gaining energy is hardly an issue. I currently run him in a team with attackspeed buffs, and it's pretty fun.
Oh i'll try to get that claymore! (Katsuragikiri Nagamasa right?) It looks so pretty. Do you think it is better than the Prototype Archaic? It seems it has less ATK but more ER and Skill DMG (I'm a bit new to the game)
@@arian_motta I think the Archaic is okay if you have no troubles with his energy charging, and you value more his physical dmg. And yeah, the Nagamasa claymore looks pretty too with Freminet.

When first reading the skills, “converted to shattering pressure” really made me think he would be able to turn his normals into his skill attack, but alas this isn’t a 5 star, and even then might be too much
He's a fun character to use, when Cryo combo it made me think similar to Razor Burst (buff active and skill cooldown) and Cryo Diluc+Chongyun double E skill combo and repeat double E till run out of buffs. I follow the trial gear buffs on Freminet with 4pcs Blizzard Strayer + Royal Greatsword to improve both of his Cryo Skill, Burst and AA. A Crit ratio 1/2 has to do with the Royal Greatsword if you want to built full Crit dmg with a Circlet and other Crit dmg substats, plus a 2 Cryo unit resonance, or even a unit with crit passive buffs(like Rosaria).

I saw someone commenting that is using him solely for exploring underwater, so giving him HP% artifacts, the bell and you're set. I've tried it and it's pretty good for exploring: you can swim faster for a longer time due to his passive + have underwater shield due to The bell passive.
