As the world's Number 1 Dratini fan and someone absolutely terrified of 3D modeling, this video was awesome! Your tutorials and tips are all really nice for easing people into how 3D modeling works.
i rarely write comments. But this was very helpful! Ecspecially the info concerning the use in a game engine. Maybe this is too much to ask for but i would really like to see how you attempt to make this game ready for unity or UE
Howdy, love the tutorial. Exactly the kind of help I’m looking for. I’m wondering though how you are taking the different elements (ears etc..) and disconnecting them from the model to use as other body parts??
hey dude I love your vids and have been massively helpful with learning how to create Pokemon, do you have any tutorials anywhere for modelling tips or guides I want to try character/ creature modelling but down know where to start.
I do want to make a video on Retopology at some point but the main thing is to start as low poly as possible, use 4, 6 or 8 vertices around all of your major landmarks, so eyes, mouth, nose, ears, horns etc. then it's just a matter of connecting those areas
That's really cool, I've been wondering though, is there a reason people don't make their own pokemon animations. Like if you made the models more stylized and directed your own pokemon episode or battles in 3D?
You could certainly do that but it would be a lot of work! You would have to obviously plan it, model the Pokemon, model the environment, animate the battle, make any FX, then do sound design and music, but if those are things you're comfortable with, then go for it! It could definitely be a niche market to gain a following
@VertexArcade Oh yeah. There would be a lot of additional things to consider, which could take an enormous amount of time and not to mention computing power haha. I assumed people didn't do it for copyright reasons, being afraid that Nintendo would strike it down or something like that. Could this happen too? Also thank you so much for answering. I really appreciate it 🙏
@VIAmotionpictures if you made your own pokemon designs they definitely couldn't come after you. You could also just make them as a showcase of your animations skills, or to learn animation, and as long as you're not making money from it, it would be fine to use actual Pokemon designs
In Edit Mode, I placed the 3D cursor near the middle of the model where I want to rotate around (Shift + Right Click to move the cursor). Then I select the tip of the tail, and at the top of screen change the Pivot point to 3D Cursor, now when I rotate the tail, instead of rotating the tip of the tail, it will rotate around the 3D Cursor, and we can use proportional editing (O) to control how much of the model will move when we rotate!
Hello, your video is very inspirational. I also want to make a channel dedicated to fan-art Pokemon, similar to yours. But I just wonder, can I monetize the channel? Am I having a problem with copyright?

Absolutely insanely well explained steps and descriptions, instant subscrition!
Also a lovely Laguna model at the end
Thank you! Appreciate it!
I also believe in the supremacy of cell shading!!! Nice model it turned out awesome🤩
I love your used techniques. Your explanations were also clear and informative!
Incredibly underrated video.
Teaching skill level over 9000...really well done
Would definitely buy courses if any, to support your channel
5:02 is the process of NPR material node set up, thank me later
in blender 3.5.1 the mixRBG node is replaced by the mix color node and is currently unsearchable you have to go to the color tab to find it.
Amazing video! I wish you could do a more in-depth tutorial on how to actually start doing retopology..
underrated youtuber
Im hooked to your channel
Very cool video.
Lovely video. I just wish you had talked about how you add colors to the model.

cell shading is life

2:13 NSFL warning required!
May I ask how do you do the orb? Is that part of the textures or the a different shader?
Awesome!
I need 0 to pro how use blender make for you or how make fakemon but very slow
Anyone know of a good tutorial to go from the block out to remesh/retopology phase? (For game characters/assets).
I do want to make a video on Retopology at some point but the main thing is to start as low poly as possible, use 4, 6 or 8 vertices around all of your major landmarks, so eyes, mouth, nose, ears, horns etc. then it's just a matter of connecting those areas
Thank you very much. Gorgeous art, by the way.

wait can't you use grease pencil for outline ?
Yeah you could! But Grease Pencil wouldn't transfer over to a game engine where the Solidify method would
do you ever plan on making like a few simple tutorials for people who would like to get into the blender and just 3d modeling in general?
0:37 how did u rotate the dragonair?

@@VertexArcade ah thanks
YES! I can make a very bad fake pokemon.
how do you put it IN the game
how to see the menu at 5:00
Shift+A will bring up the Add menu while you're in the shader editor!
@@VertexArcade thank you

you said "x and y" but showed "sun and moon"😭
He Said sun and Moon or x and y
Its the Same Generation
With the Same Style
They're talking about the cut at @3:00 , but agreed the style is quite similar between the two
@marcogarripoli9405 sun and moon is gen 7 and x&y are gen 6
