I'm like "oh, well that showcase went well!" 😂 Also from my experience I feel like A Moment of Glory takes way too long to heal you. Even if you manage to separate yourself from the Killer you can still get downed and being broken definitely hinders you (which I know is the whole point and obvious downside to the perk but still) I feel like it'll get buffed to 45 or even 50 seconds or at least it should be in my honest opinion. Heck, even 40, although that may be too OP... 😅 That's just my ideas on how I'd personally change it / how I'd like to see it be changed though! 😌 What do you all think? 😊

@@TheO-ye2ud i love when new characters have 3 perks that work well together! It's just so nice. You basically can run adept with a 4th perk and it's fun. Seem like behaviour stopped doing that and now they just put in a character whatever they think should be in the game all bundled up together, and no perk complements the other.

The thing about moment of glory is my goodness when it goes off does it feel fantastic, but you never really know how long a minute is in dbd until you're mid chase trying so hard to stay alive to just die with a couple seconds left on the clock. Haha
While it's not advisable to say "start doing chests now!" because they're still pretty bad, the Moment of Glory and Appraisal combo can lessen the sacrifice when you're doing archives to open chests. A lot of players will 100% throw games to do archives and a chest archive is a common archive. At least this way, you aren't *completely* wasting your time.
Based on this video, I'll probably pair those with Specialist and Plunderer as well. The first build showcased so much value. He was drowning in good items, and he wouldn't have popped the last gen in time if he didn't have Specialist.
60 seconds of being broken kinda sucks I will not lie, there is a lot of room to be downed in that 60 seconds. It is a waste of a perk slot when you have things like syringe or a teammate to heal you.
Absolutely. Also, even if bloodwarden takes effect, you usually can just hide and wait it out. I totally don't get this irrational fear of getting bloodwardened. Its usually super obvious.

Just dont open the gate when someone is ABOUT to get hooked. otherwise, once that person is hooked, OPEN the gate and plan out your strategy. if you can't get a singular person off the hook and escape before the bar is at at least 40% just call it GG's and go next.
Hate to break it to you, but as long as other things exist that are stronger or more useful for more common scenarios they won't make a difference at all

The problem is when you use builds like this, you repeatedly go against killers with ebony mori and the best possible meta perks. You're then essentially throwing the game.

I have PTSD from that shit. I’ve also won a game as the killer because some dummy didn’t open the gate so I just stood in front of it which gave me the few extra seconds. I need.
appraisal was a good perk on release when it made you search chests fasters, but they nerfed it instantly because having fun in this game is not allowed
@@camilecazot9825 I think a nerf they did with it being able to be used once a chest didn’t even have to do with the perk, rather the chest rummaging feature would keep spawning keys, so their solution was to just nerf kt

Either way, this combo really isn't worth it, so you're not missing out. Nothing against Otz, as he has to make content and these recent perks were quite meh; but this is essentially adding 0.5 of a perk (appraisal) and MAYBE 0.75 of a perk (moment of glory) to make a total of 1.25 perks for two slots. Running this is quite literally just nerfing yourself. If Imma waste two perk slots, I'll at least run the perk that helps get more fun stuff with add-ons so I can be a PROPER loot goblin 😂
I've been running this build too but, in my experience, the trick is to avoid using the charges instantly and instead either 1.) Put them on a Gen you save to be o e of the last in the game , creating an un-defendable situation for the killer even if it's a 3-grn situation (although this is more dependent on playing with friends), or 2.) Put like 6 charges into a Gen at a time when it will make a bigger difference but create a lasting benefit if you're chased away TL;DR: The Gen reduce charges are better used strategically late as one of the few ways you can do long-term planning/strategy in this game.
Thanks for making a point about 99ing the gates. The amount of times I’ve died cos a teammate has 99’d it rather than just opened it, so I couldn’t get out in time. It’s some weird ingrained thing where when learning about 99ing the gates a lot of survivors think they should do that every game.
Its not a weird thing engraved. Its a viable thing. Did you die? I have too by this but have you gone 8 hours straight with EVERYONE dying due to bloodwarden cause people like otz and you(most likely) just open them automatically so you can just leave only for you to escape and everyone else die cause bloodwarden procs or the no ed blood warden combo. Or no way out,bloodwarden,no ed combo. Seems you never went through that horrible end game meta or you are too low of MMR or you are a killer main who only plays surv sometimes and never had to witness this. So yes, keep 99'ing the gates please. Most survs would rather that then no one live.
If people are smart one would stand by gate so you don't die like you have by 99'd gates. Now solo q is trash so I don't blame you in saying that they probably don't do that but still, my stance still stands. Dont just open the gate whenever. To me thats such stupid advice. Especially from probably the most experienced person in this game.

If there’s 3 survivors left, ones on hook and 2 have to do the save…congrats, now you’ve killed your teammate as have to stop to open the gate.
Hens had a really nice video on specialist, he litteraly broke the game with a swf squad by reducing the # of charges by over 90 seconds. I feel like it can definately be a strong perk if you build around it (not meta but decently strong)
If you ever get the chance try Belmont's other perk "Exultation" with "Power Struggle" and "Parental Guidance" It works really well. 4th perk can be whatever you want!
The build I have been running recently is Appraisal, Stakeout, Specialist, and Moment of Glory. Been having a blast! Free BNP on 3 gens, if I get taken off hook and no one can heal me, moment of glory kicks in and I can work on a gen while I wait with a bnp. The 60 seconds is brutal, but I feel like it would be op if they lowered it all
I've been running Appraisal, Moment of Glory, Specialist and then hybriding between Plunderer's to find chests or Resilience to make good of my injured time. Things I've learned while running it, its better to use it off the hook since if you get hurt with it active you need to last 60 seconds in chase before the heal happens. Otherwise it gets wasted. At least with Specialist you still retain the value of Brand New Parting a gen later in the game.
Sometimes I wish BHVR would implement some system that would just block a survivor from leaving for a few seconds if they crouched enough times in the exit gate area
I really love this build idea, Otz! I was theory-crafting a side quest build myself using Hardened, Boon: Illumination, Moment of Glory, and either Sprint Burst or Overcome, but I didn't think to run Appraisal given that Hardened requires you to unlock a chest. Still, this video was amazing!
With Trevor Belmonts perks, ive been seeing a variety of new builds, especially one I have been using with his “Eyes of Belmont” perk. Having a survivor version of Lethal Pursuer makes perks like Babysitter, Alert and scene partner in my current build get extra value and info in a very intense chase. it has helped me win so many chases that ended up saving a game or two from a complete 4k for the killer.
Really glad that I decided to watch this video. I ALWAYS 99% gates when I play solo queue because it makes me feel uncomfortable to start the end game timer when I'm not sure what everyone else is doing. I especially like to do it to play around Blood Warden. But now I'll start to be more mindful of when to start it vs not.
I wouldnt. This is just his opinion about 99'ing gates which I personally really disagree with. Ive died countless times because teammates just immediately open gates when we are not yet ready to get out.
okay so. Appraisal, Moment of Glory, Overcome, Lucky break. i think it can be a nice build for escaping + searching chest to have items to help your team
I feel like first build utilizaded the perk best, but it increased the chances of getting the worst items without add ons. Maybe running it with guaranteed add ons instead of plunderer would be better
14:40 yeah, I felt it recently when playing on Midwich against Dredge recently. The map is already dark on it's own, but since Dredge took addon that causes Nightfall at the beginning of the game, I spend the whole minute walking around the 2nd floor trying to find the gens, only to find out that I spawned 5 meters away from one. And unluckily, it was one of those rare cases of the map rng where there was no gens at the music classroom, so while the idea was good, it brought no fruits
after years of appraisal being a bad perk often used in conjunction with plunderers instinct to effectively waste two perk slots, we finally have synergy that makes it even worse because its still bad but now will take extra perk slots
Trust me, Appraisal and MoG isn't meta but it's still really decent and could be a very viable choice if other healing perks or items aren't available or become nerfed directly or indirectly!

How badly do you think they need to nerf self-care+botany or strength from shadow+botany before this perk is remotely ever even considered? I don't think i'd even use it over resurgence+botany with med-kits.

Appraisal, moment of glory and specialist actually run quite nicely together! I've been slowly building myself a nice little build with those three (I usually pair them with plunderer's cuz I like shiny items and it helps me find chests faster)
It looks like DBD is in a interesting time to jump back in! "Cause for a while BHVR was just releasing Survivor perks that made you speed-walk slightly faster, made your character not cry'n moan like a 'lil bitch when they're down out on the ground, or being able to hear the Killer sneeze better when they sneeze. It's cool we got perks that actually synergy with other perks now!
Man the interior of the Borgo castle is so dark, they need to light it up a bit like they did the main house in Withered Isle. You can barely see shit in there.
I've got more ideas for Jeepers Creepers. He should have a flight mode where he hovers in the air at around sadakos height, he should not be able to fly over anything. and his power should reflect his second movie, so his power or should be the scarecrow. His mechanic should work exactly like the trapper with the being crosses with his resemblance on them at random places in the map and he should be able to carry them and place them wherever. I believe he should be able to teleport to one of his scarecrows like the dredge except the camera should pan to the ground then we see him jump and hear his wings flap as he appears at one of the stationed scarecrows. I believe survivors should have two interactions with the scarecrows. Tying them up to slow the creeper from just teleporting and getting a free hit, and survivors should be able to carry the crosses and place them wherever😅😊. The creeper shouldn't be able to teleport to moving crosses but should be able to get carried by survivors if he's on a cross afk and should be susceptible to getting blinded on his crosses. I didn't really put much thought into this as there's a whole movie that displays everything i said. Now after reading that try to tell me that we don't need a killer whos strung up on a cross and who can fly😮 the kinks can be worked out anyhow
C'mon, wouldn't it be fun to be sitting on a gen but there's a pitch black cross behind you and you don't know if it's actually him so you get up to tie it up and he just hops off the cross in PITCH BLACK. Hollywood would love a killer abusing the cross
I tried the same build on the Huntress game when I got Yui. It was insane how well it worked out, but got bored of not having chases, so I dropped Lucky Break for now.
Happy to finally see this perk receive some at least common sense, and finally have synergy with other perks. Also happy to have caught this so early on keep it up!
i remember i had a chest build and i got left on hook with an easy unhook for the 4 out but 2 people left and said "cause you werent doing gens", even the killer was saying it was messed up.
I have tried this same build recently but instead of Trevor's new perk, I used Stakeout, since it makes every skill check a great one. I got rid of half a gen in just a few seconds. However, I don't know that it's worth it still as the amount of work required to get the Specialist tokens by finding chests, opening them, searching them once, then rummaging them - I may as well sit on a gen with Deja Vu or Prove Thyself and be more useful to my team.
The Meg at the end game also could’ve waited to open the gate after blood warden and ran to get you out of the hook after she gets hit and get you out, then maybe take a hit for her😭
Otz i was thinking and i would like to hear your thoughts on a future video: Hear me out, unorthodox as hell, but what if they added a feature like proximity chat, and also the killer could hear it too. Like a 12 meter proximity chat or something like that. That would be insane if you truly think about it (It would be balance cuz the killer could hear if near enough so it balnces it out)
I love these builds! Great idea! I don't own Trevor but I'm glad Appraisal became more useful. Did like running it with Plunderer's and Ace in the hole but each perk on their own never seemed that worth it and thanks to you I see why. I don't need a 2. brown toolbox. Also t bagging at the gate is just rude. Dracula tried his best with a not super sweaty build. Cut him some slack
They need MoG to only take one chest at a slower opening speed or take 10-15 seconds off how long it needs to activate, maybe have the timer start at the end of the weapon wipe to balance it out
I'm sorry, but Vecna's map is ridiculously dark inside the tower. A couple candles wouldn't kill them. I played on it earlier today, and some of the rooms were pitch black. Anyways, lovely video as always Otz! I'm going to give Appraisal another shot.
I use appraisal. When im low on purple flashlights. I use plunder instincts. Ace in the hole and appraisal. Then next game, i just put on my normal perks.
The only change I wish they'd make DIRECTLY to Appraisal is that you're guaranteed a higher tier item on your rummage. Meaning if you pull a brown medkit from opening the chest, the rummage will guarantee a yellow tier item (if you pull a purple, rummage is guaranteed purple, can't pull iri keys or maps). Then, at the VERY least, the PURPOSE of Appraisal would be relevant to a degree.
To be clear I love side adjectives so I see any perk that buffs totems or chests a 100% win. And now that autodidact is too good I need some other objective. 5 stacks just isn’t the same now that it’s too hard to accidentally kill a teammate.
I run the first build but instead of the Lara croft perk I run Pharmacy.Main effect gives you a green medkit when you open a chest when your injured.But the side effect lets you open chests 80 percent faster.

These builds are fun for a few games, then you realize every killer brings the MOST meta perks possible with ebony mori and back to sweat survivor build it goes.
Had a game where someone was running MoG, it didn't go well because two people were hooked and the killer was proxy camping with ebony mori and the MoG user did nothing for the 65 seconds they were broken since it was Tier 2 not 3.
First heal in chase against Dracula bought you an extra 32 seconds--that's an equivalent of 96 seconds survivor time for your teammates (3 survivors unimpeded at 32 seconds each). That is an entire gen's worth of time saved--absolutely absurd. Definitely well-earned! But absurd

i've died more to a 99ed gate than i have to blood warden and EGC combined by a factor of like 50. just open the gates

I think 99d gates are probably better when you run open comms with the other survs. Then the farther away survs can give their input.
It'd be nice to see more perks encouraging chest use and having chests play a much larger role in games
Or they could just rework items/chests to not make them entirely useless used together with perks

Running this is quite literally just nerfing yourself. If Imma waste two perk slots, I'll at least run the perk that helps get more fun stuff with add-ons so I can be a PROPER loot goblin 😂

I've been running this build too but, in my experience, the trick is to avoid using the charges instantly and instead either 1.) Put them on a Gen you save to be o e of the last in the game , creating an un-defendable situation for the killer even if it's a 3-grn situation (although this is more dependent on playing with friends), or 2.) Put like 6 charges into a Gen at a time when it will make a bigger difference but create a lasting benefit if you're chased away
TL;DR: The Gen reduce charges are better used strategically late as one of the few ways you can do long-term planning/strategy in this game.

Thanks for making a point about 99ing the gates. The amount of times I’ve died cos a teammate has 99’d it rather than just opened it, so I couldn’t get out in time. It’s some weird ingrained thing where when learning about 99ing the gates a lot of survivors think they should do that every game.
Its not a weird thing engraved. Its a viable thing. Did you die? I have too by this but have you gone 8 hours straight with EVERYONE dying due to bloodwarden cause people like otz and you(most likely) just open them automatically so you can just leave only for you to escape and everyone else die cause bloodwarden procs or the no ed blood warden combo. Or no way out,bloodwarden,no ed combo. Seems you never went through that horrible end game meta or you are too low of MMR or you are a killer main who only plays surv sometimes and never had to witness this. So yes, keep 99'ing the gates please. Most survs would rather that then no one live.
If people are smart one would stand by gate so you don't die like you have by 99'd gates. Now solo q is trash so I don't blame you in saying that they probably don't do that but still, my stance still stands. Dont just open the gate whenever. To me thats such stupid advice. Especially from probably the most experienced person in this game.

If there’s 3 survivors left, ones on hook and 2 have to do the save…congrats, now you’ve killed your teammate as have to stop to open the gate.

Hens had a really nice video on specialist, he litteraly broke the game with a swf squad by reducing the # of charges by over 90 seconds. I feel like it can definately be a strong perk if you build around it (not meta but decently strong)
If you ever get the chance try Belmont's other perk "Exultation" with "Power Struggle" and "Parental Guidance" It works really well. 4th perk can be whatever you want!

The build I have been running recently is Appraisal, Stakeout, Specialist, and Moment of Glory. Been having a blast! Free BNP on 3 gens, if I get taken off hook and no one can heal me, moment of glory kicks in and I can work on a gen while I wait with a bnp. The 60 seconds is brutal, but I feel like it would be op if they lowered it all
Seems like an excellent combo with Finesse and/or Resilience
Funny to watch because I still main the Pinhead build with Franklin's Demise and Hoarder to abuse the cube and item picks. Love you Otz!

I've been running Appraisal, Moment of Glory, Specialist and then hybriding between Plunderer's to find chests or Resilience to make good of my injured time.
Things I've learned while running it, its better to use it off the hook since if you get hurt with it active you need to last 60 seconds in chase before the heal happens. Otherwise it gets wasted. At least with Specialist you still retain the value of Brand New Parting a gen later in the game.
Sometimes I wish BHVR would implement some system that would just block a survivor from leaving for a few seconds if they crouched enough times in the exit gate area
Moment of glory also activates off of chests closed by the killer with that one Dracula perk
I really love this build idea, Otz! I was theory-crafting a side quest build myself using Hardened, Boon: Illumination, Moment of Glory, and either Sprint Burst or Overcome, but I didn't think to run Appraisal given that Hardened requires you to unlock a chest. Still, this video was amazing!
The fact Appraisal has gotten solid in a world where Franklin's Demise/Weave Attunement exists is awesome.

With Trevor Belmonts perks, ive been seeing a variety of new builds, especially one I have been using with his “Eyes of Belmont” perk.
Having a survivor version of Lethal Pursuer makes perks like Babysitter, Alert and scene partner in my current build get extra value and info in a very intense chase.
it has helped me win so many chases that ended up saving a game or two from a complete 4k for the killer.

Really glad that I decided to watch this video. I ALWAYS 99% gates when I play solo queue because it makes me feel uncomfortable to start the end game timer when I'm not sure what everyone else is doing. I especially like to do it to play around Blood Warden. But now I'll start to be more mindful of when to start it vs not.
I wouldnt. This is just his opinion about 99'ing gates which I personally really disagree with. Ive died countless times because teammates just immediately open gates when we are not yet ready to get out.

I feel like first build utilizaded the perk best, but it increased the chances of getting the worst items without add ons. Maybe running it with guaranteed add ons instead of plunderer would be better
14:40 yeah, I felt it recently when playing on Midwich against Dredge recently. The map is already dark on it's own, but since Dredge took addon that causes Nightfall at the beginning of the game, I spend the whole minute walking around the 2nd floor trying to find the gens, only to find out that I spawned 5 meters away from one.
And unluckily, it was one of those rare cases of the map rng where there was no gens at the music classroom, so while the idea was good, it brought no fruits
after years of appraisal being a bad perk often used in conjunction with plunderers instinct to effectively waste two perk slots, we finally have synergy that makes it even worse because its still bad but now will take extra perk slots
Trust me, Appraisal and MoG isn't meta but it's still really decent and could be a very viable choice if other healing perks or items aren't available or become nerfed directly or indirectly!
however will you play without Hope, Resilience, Deliverance and Sprint Burst and whatever else everyone is running :(

How badly do you think they need to nerf self-care+botany or strength from shadow+botany before this perk is remotely ever even considered? I don't think i'd even use it over resurgence+botany with med-kits.

Appraisal, moment of glory and specialist actually run quite nicely together! I've been slowly building myself a nice little build with those three (I usually pair them with plunderer's cuz I like shiny items and it helps me find chests faster)
It looks like DBD is in a interesting time to jump back in! "Cause for a while BHVR was just releasing Survivor perks that made you speed-walk slightly faster, made your character not cry'n moan like a 'lil bitch when they're down out on the ground, or being able to hear the Killer sneeze better when they sneeze. It's cool we got perks that actually synergy with other perks now!
Man the interior of the Borgo castle is so dark, they need to light it up a bit like they did the main house in Withered Isle. You can barely see shit in there.
I've got more ideas for Jeepers Creepers. He should have a flight mode where he hovers in the air at around sadakos height, he should not be able to fly over anything. and his power should reflect his second movie, so his power or should be the scarecrow. His mechanic should work exactly like the trapper with the being crosses with his resemblance on them at random places in the map and he should be able to carry them and place them wherever. I believe he should be able to teleport to one of his scarecrows like the dredge except the camera should pan to the ground then we see him jump and hear his wings flap as he appears at one of the stationed scarecrows. I believe survivors should have two interactions with the scarecrows. Tying them up to slow the creeper from just teleporting and getting a free hit, and survivors should be able to carry the crosses and place them wherever😅😊. The creeper shouldn't be able to teleport to moving crosses but should be able to get carried by survivors if he's on a cross afk and should be susceptible to getting blinded on his crosses. I didn't really put much thought into this as there's a whole movie that displays everything i said. Now after reading that try to tell me that we don't need a killer whos strung up on a cross and who can fly😮 the kinks can be worked out anyhow
C'mon, wouldn't it be fun to be sitting on a gen but there's a pitch black cross behind you and you don't know if it's actually him so you get up to tie it up and he just hops off the cross in PITCH BLACK. Hollywood would love a killer abusing the cross
I tried the same build on the Huntress game when I got Yui. It was insane how well it worked out, but got bored of not having chases, so I dropped Lucky Break for now.

i remember i had a chest build and i got left on hook with an easy unhook for the 4 out but 2 people left and said "cause you werent doing gens", even the killer was saying it was messed up.
I have tried this same build recently but instead of Trevor's new perk, I used Stakeout, since it makes every skill check a great one. I got rid of half a gen in just a few seconds. However, I don't know that it's worth it still as the amount of work required to get the Specialist tokens by finding chests, opening them, searching them once, then rummaging them - I may as well sit on a gen with Deja Vu or Prove Thyself and be more useful to my team.

Hear me out, unorthodox as hell, but what if they added a feature like proximity chat, and also the killer could hear it too. Like a 12 meter proximity chat or something like that. That would be insane if you truly think about it (It would be balance cuz the killer could hear if near enough so it balnces it out)

I don't own Trevor but I'm glad Appraisal became more useful. Did like running it with Plunderer's and Ace in the hole but each perk on their own never seemed that worth it and thanks to you I see why. I don't need a 2. brown toolbox.
Also t bagging at the gate is just rude. Dracula tried his best with a not super sweaty build. Cut him some slack
They need MoG to only take one chest at a slower opening speed or take 10-15 seconds off how long it needs to activate, maybe have the timer start at the end of the weapon wipe to balance it out
I'm sorry, but Vecna's map is ridiculously dark inside the tower. A couple candles wouldn't kill them. I played on it earlier today, and some of the rooms were pitch black.

I use appraisal. When im low on purple flashlights. I use plunder instincts. Ace in the hole and appraisal. Then next game, i just put on my normal perks.
The one from Haddie to search for a flashlight is also good.
The word good is a bit of a stretch. I would have chosen the phrase: "Not completely detrimental anymore"
The only change I wish they'd make DIRECTLY to Appraisal is that you're guaranteed a higher tier item on your rummage. Meaning if you pull a brown medkit from opening the chest, the rummage will guarantee a yellow tier item (if you pull a purple, rummage is guaranteed purple, can't pull iri keys or maps). Then, at the VERY least, the PURPOSE of Appraisal would be relevant to a degree.
To be clear I love side adjectives so I see any perk that buffs totems or chests a 100% win. And now that autodidact is too good I need some other objective. 5 stacks just isn’t the same now that it’s too hard to accidentally kill a teammate.
The first build is what I have been running before Moment of Glory I was using Harden and I somewhat like it better.
I run the first build but instead of the Lara croft perk I run Pharmacy.Main effect gives you a green medkit when you open a chest when your injured.But the side effect lets you open chests 80 percent faster.
i'm from madagascar myself and it felt magical to know that there's a game out there made a character based on my people. boy was it a disappointment when i found out élodie's perk weren't that great :/
I run a loot goblin build just for sheer funzies, and this will make it so much more fun >:D

These builds are fun for a few games, then you realize every killer brings the MOST meta perks possible with ebony mori and back to sweat survivor build it goes.
Had a game where someone was running MoG, it didn't go well because two people were hooked and the killer was proxy camping with ebony mori and the MoG user did nothing for the 65 seconds they were broken since it was Tier 2 not 3.
First heal in chase against Dracula bought you an extra 32 seconds--that's an equivalent of 96 seconds survivor time for your teammates (3 survivors unimpeded at 32 seconds each).
That is an entire gen's worth of time saved--absolutely absurd. Definitely well-earned! But absurd
