When you have thick wavy hair, you need to do everything to decrease volume, not increase it. I've given up on hairdressers not cutting my hair right, and have been cutting my own hair at home. I've learned a lot from your videos. I wish I could get my haircut by you, but I can't afford you.
Literally. I cut my own hair now, too. I’ve never hated my own hair cut but I’ve definitely been livid after spending time and money in a salon. Whether I spend $20 at super cuts or $100+ at a “high end” salon, it’s trash 🗑️
ONE time my best friend brought me to a Dominican salon and they effing KILLED it. Best haircut I’ve ever had, it’s like someone finally understood me and my peculiar hair but that was 20 years ago.
Random bonus points: is it a neurodivergent thing that makes me almost physically recoil at the mere thought of sitting through a hair or nail appointment OR am I just weird?

When your cutting the sides, where did you get the guide? Did you cut a new one?
Love your videos 😍 question: where did you get the guide from when you started the front side ? I see the hair dropped out but you didn’t cut the perimeter first so where do I find guide ? Sorry I’m very new and would like to do this haircut on someone but I was confused 🤷🏽♀️ please help
Hey, he took the guide from the side and then cut the front taking the front part all at once(condensed cutting) and then point cutting it for some soft layers. Yeah, a small strand did fall out, but if you notice carefully, the guide didn't fall out.Maybe it'll help if you rewind it and play it a couple of times, that will give a bit more clarity. Hope this helps :)

Tell them NOT to take weight out and NOT to texturize. Taking out "weight" is their way of thinning out the hair. There is a conspiracy against thick hair, they all want to make it look flat and thin, and then spray in volumizing spray to give it volume. It is a bunch of BS people....
mercurial5810 agreed! The best cuts I’ve had were done by people who took their time to creat a shave. Literally carving with the art and science of layering a haircut that looks great out of the shower. But it’s hard to find artists. Most want the use thinning shears and leave NO weight line. Just shatter it so it looks ok for the first week then falls apart structurally

What hair sray dud you use at he start?
Nice tutorial, but was that thick hair? I feel like the persons hair i want to cut is just extraordinary thick. If you put curls and volume in it it will explode. It isn't even natrual curly, just slightly wavy

Hmm that's interesting how everyone is making thick hair look thin. I'm not particularly into that.
This just makes thick hair looks thin and scraggly. Why would anyone want that? All hairdressers must be envious of people with thick hair, as they all want to ruin it and thin it out.
