- To clear up confusion: the video is not by me! It is by Farionelle. After seeing it I was inspired to try and write lyrics based around MLP. I did not have any part of the video in mind as I was writing though, so that's why it doesn't really match up. The lyrics are based around the Discord arc, from Twilight's perspective.
Please also remember that we are beginners here, we're not trying to be professional or compete with the original. Just having a little fun!

I like both Touhou and MLP. How exactly does making a pony version of something ruin it? This is just something they made for fun, it's not meant to replace the original. Relax guys.

I agree with you also. Touhou fans should stop doing this. they're the ones that keep making everyone stick to Touhou instead of something else. I'm a Touhou fan, but i'm NOT one of those Touhou fans that complain about the work being ponyified

So many fandom wars but tbh bronies and touhou fans are pretty similar when you think about it - touhou and mlp both feature a nearly all female cast, both have attracted attention from older males, both have quite ahem 'unsavoury' sides of the fandom and both have spawned lots of astonishingly well-made fan music/art.

There's so many haters because apparently, instead of spreading love and joy, some people just want to spread hate because they can't handle happiness in their lives. This video is very well made. I'd like to see one of you animate a full length video, record the lines, sync it, and render it. It's friggin hard. Plus, no one's getting anywhere complaining, "oh not touhou doubt poniefy everything ahhh ponies ruined everything"

I like both Touhou and MLP. The Bad Apple PV is an epic piece of net history, which I have watched and marveled at countless times. This pony version, well, I wouldn't care enough to watch it to the end. But I can't overlook all those "stupid haters" comments. It's like having a post "My ponified Mona Lisa", neither funny nor of high quality, and then complaining about bad critique. A pointless exercise with predictable results.

People who like manga, anime, or games from Japan should know what it feels like to have people shame their interests just because it's "weird" or "unusual". It's not a very good feeling. So why are Touhou fans shaming ponies? Hypocritical, so sooo hypocritical. That's what we humans are, really.
I'm a part of both fandoms, at least partially, and while I think the original Bad Apple is unbeatable, this is still really legit. I'm impressed.
I'm a Touhou fan, but I used to be a brony (until the Hub became Discovery Family). I do like those things from Japan, but, I think the Touhou fans are more like drama queens who only care about the old games Touhou made.

Oh my god... Bad Apple is what is the most emotional thing about Touhou for me... I can't watch it without bursting into great emotions, because of the music, the art, the characters, the fanbase, and such. So when I saw this... I knew I was gonna like it, but what you did... was awaken those emotions all over again, now assimilated with MLP... That felt so awesome... This song of yours is AMAZING. And that's not even 1% of how much I'd want to praise you for composing the lyrics and singing it (with such a beautiful voice, too!) From the bottom of my soul, THANK YOU ever so much for this song. It's true the video could have matched better, but as you said you were not trying to compete with the original. This song... "Bad Harmony"... will remain one of the most emotional fanmade songs for me.
I've already had emotional experiences, but this time with MLP is truly the first time I can interact with the creators, as they are not Japanese, and express my gratefulness like I always wanted to. So, once again, Thank You for making this song, even if it's only the lyrics and the voice. The lyrics are SO well-thought, and especially when you remember the two episodes of The Return Of Harmony, it becomes very emotional. That's the power of Passion... and it wouldn't be possible without artists like you. You don't know how much gratefulness I feel, really.

For people who love this but have against bronies, get already tired from the ponified content, you see. Some people do not want to include ponies on their favorite content. Even me I can draw a line limit from "ponified content". For my case, why the fuck I would want to see a pony version of one of my favorite characters: Link? And no, it's not cute for me, and it's awful to see my favorite character in a pony format. Even if I go away from deviantArt, I still see it in anywhere. Before going to point me that I'm a hypocrite. I admit I am a brony and I liked this video. And I'm not going to complain this video, I can see the effort put in it. But I am going to tell you about WHY we get tired of this. It's not because of the overwhelming content in internet (For me at least), but the way they do the things. However, this "Hater logic" you mentioned earlier does not fit quite well. A better one is:

But what if the person is really curious about it? Because you see, this is not a pony only video, but a ponified version of that specific video. If there wasn't any ponification but just MLP on it. Then yeah, there wouldn't be any reason to it. Or in a better way to say this...

Then you got interested in that video because you could have known that you might like it or not. Depending the contrast of the source material. Let's think on this way. What if that AMV wasn't fanmade? Then the situation gets worse and that could have diminished the fanbase. So as MLP. But of course, fan projects are fan projects. But that doesn't change alot. Because this PMV is clearly a fan crossover where the fans that are not bronies didn't expected that to find this on their recommendations and they think Bronies have the fault for doing this.So my answer to this is... Yes and no.
I'm going to mention this again... I'm not against on this video. Well... Who has the fault to this? The haters, the bronies, and youtube.
The fandom is expanding bigger and bigger, and its "face" is being shown even more frecuently. The more we see it, the more we get tired of it. This video is casuing negative feedback because of the choice of the autor. However, despite the negative feedback, you can see how many likes it has than dislikes. This is because bronies have liked this video. But where's this negative feedback appearing if we can clearly see there are few dislikes? The like/dislike bar is not the true rating of this. Look how many views there are compared how many likes it has.It would be more logical that the hater was ranting in the comments and jumped on other video.
And here's what "haters" are doing wrong:
First, they rant unconsiously by just one fact that it has "pony" on it, no question at all. But they must have the knowlegde that this is a fan project and not an official thing. This is one critical point to be explained. If they knew this was a MLP crossover and became really curious, then why the fuck they had to harass the creator for making this? Couldn't they have jumped on another video by leaving a dislike instead of saying pure bullshit on the comments? They consider it as if it was official or something. And that's bullshit.
And last one we have is TH-cam.
TH-cam is responsible to deliver users to watch what they want. The recommended strategy is not nearly good and almost broken, giving them something that they don't want to see. Their algorithm is the reason why there are haters.
And that's all I have to talk about.

funny that this is my first exposure to bad apple-- or anything touhou related in general,,, from a pony music video. this is awesome :-)
I know a lot of people dislike this, but I actually find it fairly well done. No, I do not like it just because it is MLP, but rather for the fact that it is a good cover of a song that I love a lot. And to be honest I like it better than the original due to her voice within the song and the new lyrics.
And yes, I am aware that just for saying this people will probably try to start a comment war, but I will not change my personal opinion just because someone hates it. You have your opinion, which I will respect if you respect my opinion!
I've discovered that if I'm listening to a non-vocal version of Bad Apple, and I start singing along with it, I automatically think of these lyrics before any other versions.
That's how much I enjoy this.

I have nothing against bronies, but it annoys me how they see one MLP:FiM 'remix' of a Touhou song/animation and they always say that the MLP:FiM was the original, I'm not saying every brony does this. There aren't as many out there doing this anymore, but it gets on my nerves. >

They'd see that Bad Apple (as an example) wad the original, then call it bullshit and that Bad Apple copied Bad Harmony, a remix of a remix. (Not all bronies are like how I said in this comment. Some are, I'm pretty sure.)

I watched Bad Apple before and loved the song. Also, I always read the About section of the video to see if it's a parody or not. I don't like to take credit away from the original people who made it. I think that this was a great PARODY of Bad Apple, but can't compare to the original. This is awesome. The lyrics are very original and tell the Discord arc perfectly. You can almost feel Twilight's despair as her friends are lost to chaos.

It does my heart good to see that this animation has not been updated further to go with the flow of Season 3 and onward. Almost like this video and the song serves as a glimpse back at when the show was at its best and showing that it did not needed to be altered further. This video is perfect as it is now and probably cannot be improved further. It's just right and I love it for that.
