    How are you venting the crankcase? Vacuum from pre turbo intake piping?

      Nvm just found out in a newer video that is exactly how you run it😅

    This is pretty much the setup I had in mind for my build. Clocked center section a bit with as much angle on the fitting as you can get.

    I'm doing my oil drain today on my m54 ...decided to drain to timing cover though as I drive hard as a mf and don't want oil backing up the feed on long hard turns
    What do you do for water drain from turbo? I've got the feed run off block drain via banjos but I'm extremely hesitant to compromise the cooling system by fitting a tee to lower rad hose is there any otherway?

    Hey man I’m pretty sure I have the same car as you but 240k miles would you suggest I rebuild the motor or get a good m54b30

    All of this would be the same for a top mount right? Just a longer hose connecting to the top?

    What about using the drain plug, to drain back the oil from the turbo? With a custom T or Y connector, which bolted in to the factory drain hole, one side hose plug for the turbo oil drain hose, and the second side is for the oem drain plug bolt.
    Sorry for my bad english. :)

    • @hellrotgarage
      @hellrotgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would be too low and wouldn’t allow oil to drain

      @@hellrotgarage Thanks for reply! :)
      I dont understand why. The oil level in the engine as same as in the hose. Or not? Do you tried it?
      I seen some builds with using the oil pan drain hole. (sorry for the long picture link)
      I realy dont want to drill and weld the oil pan. An external intermediate tank or design a custom connector is easier for me.

    is the a b25 or b30? I was looking at doing a turbo rally build for my 325i but I didn't want to have to buy a b30 if I could use the stock engine.

    Do you have a link for the Y piece, for the single to original double exhaust ? I saw it in the box hahah. Would be much appreciated

    I use a siphon sprayer (not a siphon spray paint gun) connected to my air compressor and the siphon hose in a can of gasoline to clean oily parts that I can’t put in my parts washer. Yes, it’s a dangerous way to clean parts because it atomizes the gasoline, but it sure does cut through grease like no other!

    The best place to do the drain is the timing cover. It will smoke if you do the oil pan for a top mount turbo

    • @hellrotgarage
      @hellrotgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can’t do timing cover for a bottom mount obviously. I actually run an oil pan drain for my top mount on my red car with zero issues. In the same spot.
