After replacing the linkage and using loctite on the threads and anti seize on the shank it survived a hard session of riding without backing out or crumpling.
@@jc84com We were asked not to share too many details of the linkage because of Chinese (and other) copycats 🙂 I can respect that request. Eventually I'm sure you'll find someone that bought the wheel that can help you.
Thank you Marty, as you said the linkages were from prototype on this sample unit(only 6 to retailers), we air expressed the hardened linkages as soon as they were completed. We were aware of this but and unfortunately manufacturing takes time, and it didnt meet our prototype delivery deadline to be able to install it. - All units shipped APEX units all have the hardened linkages. Putting a nice high end coil shock, possibly with a progressive spring, would probably make it amazing. Also surprised there's no endstops at the end of the tubes for bottom outs so that the force doesn't end up on the linkage, or are there? An endstop can rest on the much stronger tube support, would absorb impacts better than the linkage...
You learned on the Lynx? Good for you! Dang that's a heavy wheel to learn on. Now try a Falcon! Super fun and it is much easier to learn how to go backwards and do other things that require a lighter wheel.
re high path vs low path, nice excuse Marty, but we think you were just afraid that Roger was stealing your wheel... 🤪 Nice video. Love you guys. Kudos.
When this happens and if this happens on future builds with the hardened aluminum (they should really switch to a high grade steel) I wonder what kind of impact it has on the stanchion tubes, guides and bearings. Assuming you came down hard and bent the linkage that the angular pressure would be transferred to the stanchions and potentially damage them as well?
@@AKEUC-w9l Perhaps all is not lost. I don't understand why they sent an untested product. People may suffer because they don't want to finish and test their wheel.
@@Gear-ChannelI agree with you... This is exactly what the community is also wondering. No amount of hardening will save those teeth from inevitable deterioration? I think that all these ideas with linkage suspensions, especially as complex as on video are just not good enough for hard riding. Adding more pieces, weight, price with minimal profit. Our wheel is pretty much the same as bicycle/motorcycle front wheel. Do they invented smth overall better than regular fork? No. Even though it has bunch of cons, it's still the best solution. Relatively cheap, light, easy to maintain, robust, nice working... So I think Veteran made a right decision to not invent the bicycle and just use polished solution. I mean, the experiments are good, but I don't feel like suspension is the main bottleneck in a wheels now...
It says the range is 50miles... if you are only going like 20-25mph, I bet it would be much longer. I am very curious on the mileage of these new wheels at lower speeds like this. This is what I like to ride at but it's always great having that power reserve if ever needed.
Thank you marty for being truthful in your video highlighting this failure and showing the truth about this failed 1st attempt... Luckily and thankfully never injured anyone... Sounds like a kingsong derived convoluted failed s22 suspension manufacture process... Can they recover from this? What will fail next?😢
@ElectricUnicycles yes maybe youre right and you're honestly being maybe too kind😅 but it is the hard truth and not a good start, nor a good approach. New euc company using the community as Test guinea pigs with not even an apology to you for a potential injury🤕. Can you imagine the frustration of a customer with no voice that purchases this and having the grief of them having to fix the issue. luckily you have helpful retailers but no one wants to pay excessively and then have to deal with immediate warranty failures... I appreciate you lot tested the linkage rigourously. However, this is a hard lesson to be learnt that should've been tackled on quality checking prior to being released. Also embarrassing to leaperkim using their name. Unfortunately nice idea but failed and my fear is what next😕? Apologies to nosfet for the necessary rant hopefully they learn from this and strive for better.
Permatex Orange - rated 3x the vibration resistance of blue but I don't think Loctite has an Orange, they're teh same price anyhow and so far Orange has been working like a champ for me on camera mount threads as well as threads on my micromobility devices.
Well, it is obvious that people lost the initial purpose of EUC... I really feel sorry for that. The EUC is not a dirt bike, or race motorcycle, it wasn't created to beat the mountain bicycle in off-road performance... EUC is originally built to be lightweight, compact form of transportation in the city, to replace electric scooter and ordinary city bicycle, so people could easily go to grocery store, or office in the neighborhood, for relaxing evening, or morning ride in the park, while eating ice cream, or holding hands with your loved ones. But today it is all gone wrong thanks to our American friends, who paid the most money to China and asked for speeeed and poweeer... Like it is not EUC we're talking about, but typical American pickup truck, or SUV... Yeah, put the HEMI V8 in that thing, we need more torque and horse power to compensate something small... Now the entire industry produces only monsters that are basically useless toys for the weekend rides for "fun". I honestly don't get it - if you want suspension, seat, fast speed - why wouldn't you jyst get yourself a motorcycle?! If you want to feel the real off-road on your body - than why you buy suspension wheel, get non suspension version and you'll feel every dent and rock you get on... If you want comfort - stay on the asphalt. I miss those years of REASON that we used to have before, riding really good wheels like KS18XL and so on... Not the "half motorcycle" that people use today, while riding seated.🙈
I would say that the market has spoken. If most people felt as you do then the big powerful EUC's would not be made because people would not be buying them. Supply and demand. Fortunately for people such as yourself, you can still buy the smaller wheels such as the V12, etc. Seems to me that everyone can be happy. I'm happy for you that there are still small wheel options and you should be happy for me that I can buy my monster wheels. Thanks for the comment 👍

Personally I think an apology is also necessary together with your thank you, to Mr Marty and Mr roger for this failure.

There are large o-rings at the ends of the stanchions
I think this wheel might have too many moving parts that can break. It looks amazing but I'll definitely stick to my Lynx.
The beginning and end of nosfet😂😂😂

Looks fantastic. The Apex, Sherman L and F22pro look like wheels designed for many years of production.
You think F-22 will sell any at all? Its a 10kg heavier lynx, with probably bad electric components
There goes Roger breaking shit again.... LOL!
Very nice camera angle at the desk, it has a very 90s home video flair with the lighting. Film it in 4:3 for added effect haha
