Well, it's not very day that you bump into the King! But that's exactly what happened on this bike ride.
We were riding on Balmoral estate, and there were plenty of Range Rovers and guards with guns, but we didn't actually expect to see or speak to the King in the way that we did.
I'm not a big fan of the Royal family, in fact, I suppose I could be described as anti-establishment. That doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy meeting King Charles, and it doesn't stop him from being a very nice man to talk to either.

    PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING!!
While there were no guards within sight of the camera, please know that the King very much had plenty of security nearby and numerous vehicles had scouted the route the King was walking before and after him. He had his own space, but still very much protected, as you would expect for a King.

I don't consider crimes against humanity and the freedom of citizen's to be a "political opinion".
FYI, one of the most public things is the strange evidence surrounding Diana's death. A lot of coincidences such as Diana revealing Charles's affair and growing animosity. Not to mention growing immense wealth while the country sees extreme poverty get worse every year for decades under his watch (however, usual for the royal family). Just the fact that a constitutional monarchy still exists for a superpower country with fission weapons in the modern time is insane. These people should all be put on a rope by the public and elect representatives that are fit for power and executive decisions, with wealth removed from the equation.

They didn't recognise the Queen, but they mentioned that they heard the Royals go walking here and how fantastic it would be to meet one. The Queen pointed to the person she was with and said, "he knows the Royals, in fact he's good friends with the Queen", so the tourists wanted to have a photo with the friend, after they took it, the Queens friend suggested a photo with everyone in it.

Just strolling through his Kingdom alone with his thoughts and having a nice chat with the younger generation. This reminds me of the story of his mum when she was out for a walk on one of her estates, along with her bodyguard. They bumped into some American tourists and got to chatting. The tourists, obviously not recognizing QE2 but knowing they were on a royal estate, asked whether she'd ever met the Queen. QE2, having quite the sense of humour, said that she'd never met the Queen (can you meet yourself?) but that the man with her was a police officer and he'd met the Queen multiple times. The tourists immediately ignored HRH and bombarded the bodyguard with all manner of questions.

The Royals are there to serve the UK. Wherever they go, they bring a huge spotlight that shines on ordinary citizens doing great things. Yes, it could be as simple as making a great whisky. Or as big as promoting a movie made in the UK. James Bond, Mission Impossible...Also, the Royals shine the light on things that need a little oomph to improve the UK. Royals are not celebrities. Celebrities shine the spotlight on themselves, Royals use their notoriety to serve the UK and its subjects, just like firemen, nurses, road builders, teachers, farmers, bus drivers and many others serve the UK. Princess Kate mostly dresses in clothes designed and made in the UK.

At the end of the day, that's indeed what the RF are, public servants in spite of their titles and their personal wealth, and they work hard for their country and its people, serving with dignity, grace, and genuine concern for the land and the state and that the UK endures.

This reinforces my view of Charles. I think he mellowed greatly from the 80s until now and Camilla probably helped with that process. She is naturally warm, funny and open. The year the Duke of Edinburgh died, I felt compelled to send the Queen a card and received a beautiful card in response. That year I sent a Christmas card as well, which ended up being her final Christmas and received a very warm, handwritten card from one of her ladies in waiting. So happy, I made the effort.
