About Blake's Broadcast:
Blake's Broadcast is a channel that reviews fountain pens, paper, and ink.
Rollbahn means runway in German. The rest are aviation/travel related, too. The logo is also VERY reminiscent of the Lufthansa logo. I am a bit surprised they're not in trouble for this. 😆
You are absolutely right! Same Helvetica font and everything.
Thanks for the review! I’m always looking for new notebooks!
You are welcome!
this 'brand'/label kind of puzzles me because it seems to be so popular among Japanese FP users, but after I have nearly tried the most of the popular Japanese-looking Japanese papers available, there are just more than plenty of even better cost performance papers that are way easier, and less guilty feel thanks to price and format, to use up till they're finished. I've never used it, but like your puzzled comment about the words on the cover, I think its mostly to appeal in a 'Non Japanese' look sort of way, despite being made in Japan and sold mostly in Japan
Thanks for the comment. I agree the Delfonics company which makes Rollbahn is strange.
What other more cost effective notebooks do you recommend? I am always looking for new notebooks.
@@BlakesBroadcast I've not been a fan of full on 200p notebooks, but Maruman or Kokuyo loose leafs are solid choices for cheap, I don't know how much it is in Japan, but for $2-3 for 100 sheets, it beats everything; I prefer the loose leaf format because I can write or draw at random and rearrange specific note/sketches to specific binders without feeling ashamed of wasteful traces of random scribbles or torn papers on wirebound/stitch/gluebound books.
@@Shiruvan I used to use Maruman's "Smooth to Write" all the time. It's great with fountain pens and quite affordable.
"It sounds German ... Of course it sounds German!" I got a smile out of that. I don't really get the Japanese fondness for putting foreign words on products like that, but then I don't get the American fondness for tattooing foreign words on their bodies, either. Especially when they get them wrong.
Hi James, I had a couple of revelations with this notebook. Firstly it's got German text on it and secondly, (as pointed out by another viewer) it is basically a copy of Lufthansa graphic design. So the German text makes a bit more sense in that context.
As for Americans with foreign word tattoos, I don't get it either, but they are surprisingly popular.
$10 makes a case for the notebook. The cover looks water resistant which might be useful.
Thanks for your candor.
You are welcome David!
