Would I do it again? No. Does it look cool? Oh hell yes! Is it still easily readable in the dim light? Not at all... And the light is way dimmer now, hardly usable. It looks very good in the sunlight, but if there is not enough light it always looks kinda dim and it takes you an extra second to read the time which could get annoying. Massive respect to watch makes though.. It is very difficult to keep those hands steady and be accurate. It takes a special kind of a person.. You have to always appreciate who fixes and services your watches with sincere respect. It can look easy, until you try..
Brilliant result. I just wish Casio gave us the option of buying this watch in a stainless steel case with sapphire crystal. I do not want a more expensive brand of watch but I would happily pay extra to get a higher quality version.
Just bought this watch. The one with the gold around the module face. Yours looks great. This is the first time that I have seen one like yours. Good review, thanks.
Wow! Very interesting video. And I loved how you didn't remove the "mistaken" part of the video. Amazing result BTW! I think I will try it with my Casio even if I am a bit scared 🙂
Great video! I really like how it turned out! I once tried to do the negative display mod on my SKMEI 1456, well it didn't turn out as good and I ended up throwing the whole watch out..
In Indonesia there are no black version like that. We only had the blue red silver bracelet a158 casio.. Can you share the link for buy this blagk bersion watch?
I ilfind that my enjoymentbof negative disolays are dependant on hiw good it really looks with the negative display and if there is a good, easy to reach backlight. I bought the original casio calc watch with standard display ala back to the future. Then i saw the green model with the negative display at wlmart and thought it looked awesome so I bought it. Turns out that while the green case is really cool, I can barely ever read the watchboutside direct lighting. And.... no back light. I hate it and it will go back to walmart. I however also have a w800 negative display that I love. The numbers are larger which makebitbeasier to read in awkward lighting, but mainly IT HAS A VERY GOOD BACKLIGHT. So alot of the negatives are negated with that model. And with that model the negative display version just looks WAY better than the positive. So yeah, kinda depends for me.
@@OERL Worked with filter from 3d glasses for me, also just flipping the original filter on the watch if its still nice enough would work as well. Not sure if this is helpful for you anymore, but if anyone else is wondering.

Very honest man ! Most content makers won't show that failure. Thanks man. So cool

Tomas! Thank you for the review. Do you have a link for the polarising light film sheet you got? I plan to try this too…
So that's how you change the screen to negative. Looks good.

oh, yes, please!!
not a fan of rubber straps but i gotta say, damn that watch looks hella good!

Remove the lcd from the module and it'll much easier to change the polarizer, also less chance to crack it.
THANK U SO MUCH FOR LEAVING THE SCREEN BREAK IN..! THATS HOW WE LEARN.😎
It looks so cool. There is that retropunk feeling to it now. I am thinking now of buying this watch to do the same
I think you should use shiny black metal strap instead of resin strap.
I find it easier to do polarizer swaps by totally removing lcd from the module, and using small amounts of IPA on the spudger.
Love the black strap better the silver always pulls my hairs on my wrists
Do you know if I can put this strap on my databank watch ?
2:50 she looks great!
looks awesome!! i'm gonna buy one of these tomorrow and make this screen customization

live and learn :D
@@TomasWatchReviews Exactly 😀
Looks great 👍
amazing MOD ...you are the man !
thanks
Beautiful
it looks nice.
It's much easier to buy a complete negative LCD for about $10. Replacing the LCD took me about 5 minutes.
That way you also eliminate the chance of getting any bubbles or cracking the screen.
Where did you purchase the LCD?
Where did you but it?
This was very satisfying to watch 🙂
IMO, it's way better with neg. display.
Amazing

I am planning on buying a new a158wa and change it's strap, can anyone tell me what is the lug width of the a158 is?
Looks fantastic
Hi where to buy polarising filter you are using ,people are selling modified Casio on Etsy for huge price ,
Aliexpress. For how much are they selling? Is anyone buying?
@@TomasWatchReviewsNah it doesn't sell well. People mostly do it themselves on cheaper casios
Where did you get the “black stealth face” from?
amazon
This video is a perfect demonstration of how NOT TO DO polariser film change. 🤦🏻♂️
Great Job. I want one
Well done ❤
Reference # on that Casio with black face?
V E R Y F A N T A S T I C 💯👍😀
Thank for your video. P.S.: are you latvian?
Lithuanian, but basically the same.
Great job!, wondering how would look with a black case.
So that's how you can get a legible negative display!

had that calculator with negative LCD as well. Hated it too.
nice video bro...
keep make great video again
I like it and you did well
My negative display watch has gone all black ! How to repair it
you have to find the right angle of the polarizing film on the lcd before sticking it on :)
Where did you buy the pol filter? Can you recommend something? I don't mind if good quality is a bit more expensive than necessary. Cheers
hi, I bought the cheapest one on ebay. Its the size of the phone, price was around 2usd.
@@TomasWatchReviews cool thanks. I have 3d cinema glasses with pol filter here. Should do the job. What do you think?
@@OERL Worked with filter from 3d glasses for me, also just flipping the original filter on the watch if its still nice enough would work as well.
Not sure if this is helpful for you anymore, but if anyone else is wondering.
Did you use 1,5mm thick spring bars for the F91w strap? The A158 spring bars are too thick :(
I don't even know, but I had very thin ones
Where do you get this polarizing film?
Did you break a watch to make another or just buy another LCD? If you bought can you tell me where I can buy please?
I just used f91w as it has the same module. So yes, I broke f91w for this.
Do you have a link on where to buy the black screen version without the blue line?
hi, amazon.de
from witch watch is this rubber strap ?
f91w
Coool
Nice...
Is this possible with the A700?
yes, almost same LCD
DARK MODE is better !
