4:14 I had dry scalp before I loc’ed my hair and it’s not as bad now because I can wash weekly without all the loose hair maintenance. I find that drinking water helps too.
Yes that’s a good point too!
Yep, I combined my perimeter. The stylist that started mine made them super small. I haven’t had any more breakage along my hair line.
So happy its all worked out for you 🎶
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with your micro locs. I am considering having micro locs installed in my hair in the next couple of months. Right now I am gathering information - watching tons of videos, speaking with friends and strangers (lol) with beautiful locs. Your hair is GORGEOUS and I appreciate your willingness to share.
Be Blessed ❤️
Great video! It has helped me a lot. I’m almost 6 months into my loc journey and I’m trying to be patient while trusting the process.
Thanks for sharing these tips, your hair is so beautiful!❤❤
Thank you so much!! ❤
I’m three months in, two reties so far. I spritz my scalp with a water/eucaplytus and tea tree oil solution for itchy scalp. It doesn’t build up. Locsanity has a daily moisturizing spray as well that’s really good. My scalp gets really dry and itchy.
Great information! I am in my third month with my loc journey! So far all is well, except, for frizz. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I’m glad you found it useful! I think frizz is a good thing for locs!
I’m 15 days in micro locs, it was quite different the 1st week now I’ve gotten use to the process , I spritz with alkaline water to help
With itching & dryness . Thanks for your Video it’s very informative. I’ve subscribed 😊
Bunching is one of the reasons why you have to braid and band. Bunching is a natural thing with Locs, but when you have tiny locs you braid and band to avoid them to swell
Thank you! This is so helpful 🥰
Ive had the same flaky residue for years but it was recently diagnosed as Seborrheic dermatitis.nizoral shampoo helps, less sugar and drinking more water.
I had traditional locs for 5 years but i cut and took them out (palm rolled).I cannot commit to wash days, buying products etc so….i had microlocs installed today. The lord knows i tried 😂
I had almost the same journey as you almost! Traditional locs for 2 years and combed out due to scalp issues. For microlocs and now I can wash more. I use Nizoral too and my scalp is much happier!
Here watching , I am 18 months Locd and had my first hair wash without braiding and banding and it felt GREAT! I have been having bunching too.
Oh no how did you tackle the bunching?
I started washing mine without braiding at 7 months lol I'm a rulebreaker
Your hair is gorgeous!
Thank you lovely 🥰
I totally agree with you in this area, the area where the hair are looser, the solution is to Retie often especially for your hair type. I have that experience with the small locs around my forehead and nape area. I just retie earlier but not too tight for that could make it pop😂
Thanks for sharing!!
Hello ! Thank you so much for this video
You’re welcome lovely 💕
Hi Ifeyinwa, Kudos! Your videos are quite enlightening. pls did u apply methylated spirit for scalp cleaning at the early phase of your journey? I started my microlocs and about 5weeks gone and due for a retie but my lotician said i should not wash my hair yet and should cleanse with methylated spirit but i cant bring myself to do it cus of the drying effect of alcohol. Kindly advise!
Slippage has me on chokehold😢. Thank you so much for the tips
You’re so welcome, I hope my tips help you 🫶🏾
Me too! Thank you!!!!❤
Slippage is a nightmare
I'm really contemplating locs and i love yours! These videos are really helpful in my decision journey 🤗
Where is your cardigan from?
So glad you found it useful! It’s from Massimo Dutti but it’s not on their website anymore
@@Ifeyinwa it looks great quality so good to know where I can look 🤗
Hey. I am almost tree years locked and i am now having problem with slipage at the ends of my locs. Do you have any comments about it? Thanks.
I’m experiencing a lot of frizz with my sister Locs. Is this normal? Or is there a way to solve it?
Hi,can you please share contact of hair in Lagos please?
When does the slippage stop! I’m 11 months in and the back of my head slips like it’s on ice 😭. Great video as always!
Oh nooo!! Hang in there there’s no fixed time to be honest but try my tips, it really helped me 😊
Okay I was worried! I am 10 months in and still experiencing slippage and was thinking it wasnt normal. 🫣
How often do you wash and Re twist?
I have videos on this :)
The hair around my perimeter/nape slipped too. I’m four years in now so I go 6-8 weeks.
Awww nice can you remember how long it took for your locs to settle/stop slipping?
2 years fully. Most of it settled by a year my perimeter was just stubborn.
I’ve simply made peace with my frizz 🤣 I just can’t. My only issue is that my locs don’t seem to be growing as fast as they did the first time I had them. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong this time around.
I feel the same way, I am 6 months in.
Did you cut your hair? I remember your hair used to have curly ends ~ now they seem more straight
Nope I don’t cut my hair. That’s what happens when your locs mature ☺️
Apple cider vinegar helped my dry scalp
Oooh! How do you use it?

I’m experiencing a lot of frizz with my sister Locs. Is this normal? Or is there a way to solve it?
Yes normal. Be careful how you wash them and oil them. Wear a bonnet that is not as loose or tie on a hair scarf, like she said above. Are you interlocked or palm rolled?
