  • Optiplex 7010 booting solved.
    Procedure:
    1) Shut down Desktop, Remove RAM & power it on.
    2) If 6 beeps as in the video, put only 1 RAM back & restart the Desktop
    3) press F2 and check date & time, If the date & time are wrong. Change the battery!
    4) If multiple RAMS, put all back when PC is off.
    Hope solved the issue.

Put the RAM in the same colour coding either white-white or black-black slots for dual channel, otherwise it will run in slower single channel mode

The likehood of this occuring again is very low, so your current desktop should suffice. If at it occurs, you now know how to resolve it.
For me it occurred after almost 9 Y of use, dint occur again for the last 2 Y. It has been very realiable.

    • @AmateurPetrolHead

Does pressing the power button result in anything?
Like if you were to short press it, does it go to sleep/hibernation/ shut down? (Depending on your settings)
If there is no result, i suspect the power button is spoilt. Its a cheap part & easy to fix.

Just want to confirm is your blink pattern exactly the same as in video?
Did you let the residual power discharge? after removing the power cable, press the power button & wait for atleast 5 mins.
If the blink pattern is even slightly different, it means there is something else wrong, related to the motherboard or Power Supply unit etc. the following articles should be helpful in identifying.

I attempted this fix but there's no blinking light, it just shows orange when I press the power button. Is there anything that I'm missing or that I should do instead?

    • @AmateurPetrolHead

Just want to confirm is your beep pattern exactly the same as in video?
Did you let the residual power discharge? after removing the power cable, press the power button & wit for atleast 5 mins.
If the beep pattern is even slightly different, it means there is something else wrong, related to the motherboard or Power Supply unit etc. the following articles should be helpful in identifying.

I don't understand how/why it was flashing orange and all you did was took the 2 RAM sticks out, booted without them and then put them back in 1 at a time and it booted? So what was the problem that caused it to not boot to begin with if you just took the original RAM sticks out and put the same ones back in again, 1 at a time? Confused :-/

    Hey bro
I'm using this exact same model with exact same shape right now at my home from last 1 month.
But today morning it's showing me a problem It's not turning on just flashes all board lights and turns off tham automatically tries to turn on but again it turns all board lights and just goes turn off.
Plz help me to push this issue By The Way I'll not get most of your time coz I'm also a regular repairer myself So just tell me what can be the reason, I know it's a Power issue but it's solving by me 😢

Regarding Shutting down, you can instead switch off the power outlet as a last resort.
Or get the power button replaced.
