I installed this sod in my backyard around the play area. Wanted something cheap and easy to maintain. It does look like a cow pastor now but I’m hoping by summer it will grow nice and green.

Why does the Bahia sod look like dirt and less grass

It’s not the most attractive sod hence why it’s the least expensive. That’s what the home owner had so we had to install the same grass

That part of the lawn appears to be really shaded which bahia does not do well in . That species requires full sun and high a high temperature to flourish hence the prior situation you were supposedly correcting. Why didn't the owner choose a more shade or part shade tolerant grass species?

We give client options that will fit better for shade tolerance but they declined and wanted what was already used which was Bahia grass, surprisingly it germinated and grew over 3 inches as they are using Bee Green as the monthly fertilization treatment.
