- Check out my unboxing of a brand new Glock 17 Gen 5. This video will help you decide if you should pull the trigger and buy a new Glock for yourself. It is really hard to not recommend a Glock to a new shooter. They are worth their weight in gold in my book. Add a solid set of night sights and a light to the rail and you are good to go. Keep everything else stock and the Glock will last you a lifetime!

I got the G17 gen 5 as well mine has the factory night sights, I have owned many Glocks but never a 17 I finally got one... a Nice one too.
Those factory night sights are pretty damn nice themselves

Lucky!!! I live in California so I can only get the gen 3 with 10 ammo mags. Would I get in trouble with the law if I was to buy larger capacity mags?

Just got mine on my birthday great gun way better than the 19 , 23 ,45 , and older gens its the og that started it all and the best handgun in t the world better than any gun out there there's no competition.

I love the way the 19X shoots but I don't want another compact pistol. I want a full size for my next.
G17 is on my radar. CZ P10F and sig P226 are up there too.

It's a Gen 5 thing, all of the gen 5s should have it on both sides. 19x does as well.

The slide lock has been ambidextrous since the p80 or Glock 17 prior gen 1. You are mistaken.
Your wrong … not all glocks are ambidextrous i can confirm it because i have a 17 thats a gen 4 i think and only one side have the slide stop/mag release
