Roasted Carrot Soup! Be still my heart!! I had no idea they would still be crunchy!! Those looked amazing coming out of the canner! Loved having you participate in Canuary! You are awesome!
I am so glad you mentioned being able to smell your stuff while it was in the canner. That has been my biggest question when pressure canning because after watching a lot of how to pressure can videos I have never once heard anyone say they could smell it. I always thought I was doing something wrong!! I think that veteran pressure canners don’t think about all the little details that happen ‘during’ the canning period. Usually only the before and after. Thanks again! 😊
I love that you are canning "untested" recipes. Having to stick to a recipe while canning has been tough. It 's nice to see someone canning different stuff, and makes me feel that I can start canning some other stuff as well.
I made a split pea soup, and I couldn't find anywhere if I could blend all the other veggies in it as well. I just did it. So now seeing you make a split pea/carrot soup, makes me feel like I did the right thing.
I don't know what I like better.... the recipe or the fact that you can freeze carrots and have them come out so good! I had no idea you could do that. You have opened up a whole new world for me. Thank you
Once you know the ins and outs of canning safety, it’s really easy to determine what is safe. I modify all of our favorite recipes we used to freeze, to be able to safely can. Love this!
It really is good to encourage creativity in the kitchen, and using your own common sense when altering recipes to suit your taste - that is the basis of good cooking! This looks like a great recipe, along with a hot sandwich of some sort (grilled cheese maybe) for a hearty winter meal.
I always learn something from watching your videos and am amazed at your non stop stamina and productive attitude. Something that seems to be a natural, part of the fabric of a homesteader and/or preservationist.
I am your new biggest fan And this is my first Canuary. Can’t wait to go back and watch all your old videos. My mouth is watering while I watched this. Thank you for supporting this community.
I like that you are adventurous with your canning recipes it does help me want to branch out on what I can. Sounds like there are plenty of ways to use this soup.
Mmmmm❣ I just know it's delicious. Thank for show how to do that. I can't wait to try doing all kinds of Canning. In my mind I have all kinds of meals running around. You guys stay well and safe!
Looks good. Good to always see all your canning video's. 😊 Also the gardening videos. Learn so much from you, helps since we are close in zones for growing our garden. You're video's for canning have helped out big time only been doing canning for 2 years now. I thank you and also Suttons Daze for all you do.
I still love that you "shop" from your pantry and freezer! Carrot soup.... yes please! But, the best part about this video is how you changed it as you went along. Thank you!
Oh my! How yummy! And such a great comfort food for the winter months! I love, love, love carrots and could almost smell it coming out of your canner! Can't wait to try this recipe! Thanks for sharing!
I absolutely love you showing you changing your mind, combining recipes, adding ingredients to taste, etc. I'm itching to go through my freezers and make room by canning!!
I love watching you think on your feet and adding things. I just got into canning this past June and I love it. I was so scared to pressure can and now I do it all the time. I have been doing what you said adding my own spin on food. I have adding so much to my pantry. I just wanted to thank you for helping encourage me. If you have any low carb canning videos I would love to know. I try to stay keto. But that carrot soup sounds amazing. I will have to look that one up in my ball book. Thanks again. God bless you and your family.
I love your comment about building confidence as a canner. That is so true! It can be super intimidating in the beginning but it is amazing after you just start! Great looking soup!
I love the idea of improvised what you are pressure canning. I thank you for the tip that we can freeze carrots, I didn’t know it and had loose a lot of good carrots. Every day I learn something with this “Canuary” 😊🌸
I love when our canning teachers show us how to roll with it when life happens and to change things if it’s not for our family. Why am I dreading the end of #Canuary? I’m enjoying this immensely!
Carrot soup was a stretch for me but I sold when you added split peas. I enjoy creating "freezer" soups too. It's also great to know that carrots are still sweet and crunchy after being in the freezer. Another great addition to Canuary. Thanks for sharing.
Love how you changed your recipe on the fly. Perhaps I'll get to that point some day too. Roasted carrots and onions sounded just fabulous and then you added the split peas. Home run in my mind! Thanks for sharing your recipe and your wisdom.
That looks delicious :) I love carrots and this looks like one more recipe I am going to end up doing. People have been preserving food for decades and although I do like to follow the safe guidelines, they haven't always been available. It was based more on ones common sense. I will say I have learned a lot from these Canuary videos this month and have added many recipes to my collection. Thank you for a wonderful video!
This seems like it would be an awesome combination of flavors. I would’ve never thought of combining carrots and split peas together. It reminds me of Indian cuisine, with its complex flavors, texture and depth. Thank you for letting us into your kitchen. I’m learning so much from all of the Canuary team.
I wish you were my neighbor so I could learn from you firsthand and enjoy your enthusiasm in person. You make me want to try all the things! Thanks for being you! God Bless! Can't wait to try this soup.
I can almost smell this as I watch you make it. Really great to know it can be done with frozen carrots. Adding your roasted carrot soup recipe to my pantry this year. Thank you for sharing!
I love this. Your discussion on using the guidelines but also your imagination to stock your store was enlightening. Love the recipe along with all the changes. It gave me so many ideas. Thank you
I love your attitude! Treat the Ball Canning book as a guide. I like to follow recipes strictly when I first try them but I love to switch things up eventually. You never know what amazing combo you might find!
Thank you so much for being part of the Canuary.... I look forward to your videos each and every time you upload one thank you so much for sharing and God bless.

Thank you for the encouragement to try different recipes!! I need more plant based canning ideas and this soup is a perfect recipe to spice for my palate!

Love knowing the carrots don’t get mushy when thawed from the freezer. Home grown is always the best🥕💖💖💖
I dont like cooked carrots but to learn that they hold up to freezing is amazing.
I love how you didn't hesitate to change up the ingredients when you didn't have enough carrots. I also love your canning talks.
