    Kudos Mike to your high quality visuals as well as your great script which you engagingly and without hesitation rattle through and always manage not to make it feel tedious, contrived or laboured. Keep up the good work - no great work...you're a star. BTW, nice duet.

    Just got the mic and tested it. Fantastic. This mic is so good that it can be an end game mic. Pretty much all you need for voice, acoustic, etc....And only for 599 dollars !! (At least in the USA).......great bargain and great mic no matter what the cost is.

      @@gangs0846 I love it. It’s smooth. Not sibilant. I only tested it on vocals and acoustic guitar. My only other high end microphones are the AKG C414 xls and the Royer R 101 ribbon mic. Maybe you can buy it at a retail store and test it. If you don’t like you probably can return it.

    I've been using a JZ BH2 & just got this one.The BH2 has a lot of sparkle & brightness which I miss on this .However there is some kinda sweetness & smoothness in this.I wonder if bright mics can be an issue when it comes to Mixdown though.

    • @perkeleman1265
      @perkeleman1265 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They can be an issue. Often times (not always of course - bright high end mics would not have this issue) the brightness is not a smooth bump in the high frequencies, but usually rather bumpy which makes certain high frequencies more resonant, which in return is very hard to next to impossible to get rid of in mixing, because it would require very narrow filtering, which then usually introduces more ringing/phase shift.
      A high quality dark sounding mic usually takes a wide high end bump by a nice EQ very well. Take ribbon mics that generally will sound much darker, but when you boost that high end in Mixing, you will find very very smooth and natural sounding highs instead of harsh resonance.
      A classic "fallacy" that I also long fell for is to prefer a bright mic over a darker but better microphone, people just like the mixed or "hi-fi" kind of sound from it, but it comes with said resonant drawbacks, while the better microphone can be mixed to any liking more easily.

    As soon as you use EQ on a microphone, it doesn't say anything about the quality of the microphone itself anymore. Also there is no way to compare the sound to another, well know microphone.
    With EQ and without an A/B comparison, a review is pointless IMHO...

    Warm microphones are not built like the Neumann u87. There is a cheapness about all the warm stuff. The body is cheap looking and the paint job just imitative, the box is cheap.

    • @PatrickVyvyan
      @PatrickVyvyan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I certainly agree Warm microphones are not built like the Neumann u87, but then again they're not priced like a Neumann either! If you have the money, there are better alternatives to WA, but if not, Warm Audio offers a very good price/quality relation.
