4:09 “with your heart against my chaiste, your lips pressed to my naiik.” Beautiful. The Jr version translates everything super accurately. I’m sold. The bigger version is great but i’m not sure it’s $600 better. Especially in a thick mix. If you make acoustic records with 2 mics, spend that extra money, it’s more crucial. But let’s be honest most people already have a wall of dumb EDM or distorted guitar going. The Jr would sound basically identical in a final mix, in those cases. Most people can literally use an SM58 and it sounds fine because the surrounding instruments rob the vocal of all its subtle character. Most heavy rock or EDM tracks can use a $125 mic and sound almost identical in a mix with a competent engineer. It’s only when one mic really carries the weight that it’s crucial to use an extremely high-quality mic.

@@inkognitomusic1956 dry is exactly what you want for critical vocal mixing imo. as for muffled either you're using it incorrectly (using cheap mic shield, too close, improper positioning) or you lack the knowledge to properly equalize. the sound signature is incredibly easy to work with on 99% of the vocals ive ever had. in reference the tlm 103 which is essentially the most popular prosumer vocal microphone has an extreme similar frequency response, if you put a high shelf around 3-4k and up the gain it sounds like the same mic.

@@sunnyjohnlouis4843 the TLM102 is very direct, very modern pop sound. It has sort of a "close mic" vibe with lots of presence. It has a good resolution without any obvious resonances. It sounds like a very expensive microphone. It is a bit of a one trick pony for me.
The Warm also sounds very well but is a bit smoother. It will not get annoying on harsh instruments (think violin) but it will require more work to get vocals just right in post but I consider it more versatile. It has less bite, but you can do almost anything with it. I've had outstanding results with the warm and female vocals. In recent days I even prefer the big brother, the WA-47 (with the tube) over the U87Ai on some rap/hiphop voices. The Wa-47 jr. is not far away from it.
