    I just subbed. Please sing more. I wasn’t going to sub but once you sang I was instantly hooked in. I’m sticking around just in case you do more singing here. I love your voice. No homo. Unless you’re into it 👀

    I had to like this video just because you sounded like Serj Tankian from System of the Down on your song. I also have the 1st gen WA-87. It's a really good mic!. Keep Rockin!!!

    I’m not even going to lie; 9 times out of 10 when a voice actor goes for the singing cue uhhhh... it just goes VERY south. However; your singing voice was pleasantly surprising as well as the mix! We need more singing from you good sir 🎤 Excellent review and I’m dropping a like AND a subscribe. Thanks for all your hard work!

    Just got this mic. Outstanding product no matter what the price is. This is an end game mic. It’s really all you need and look no further. It’s just as good as other mics used by A list celebrities. I’ll probably still get another vocal mic just for fun and giggles but it’s really not necessary to do so.

      From a listening comparison of the Neumann U87 Ai, the WA87 R2 sounded less bright and warmer (no pun intended). Based on the listening test, it was hard to tell which one was better. Just different and either probably can be used.

    The 416 has more proximity effect when your close. The WA87 r2 is brighter and still solid in the low end. The U87 is also a standard microphone for VO. The 416 seems to be preferred in advertising for whatever reason. I prefer the 87. It sounds smoother and has more top end sparkle.

    By the way, the WA 87 R7 sounds much “clearer” to my ears than the Sennheiser which seems to emphasize lower frequencies. The difference is clear but it’s hard to choose. Part of me would prefer the warmth and lows of the Sennheiser, but at the same time the clarity of the 87 R2 seems to help it rise above the mix... :)

      Thanks so much for the input! Yeah, I definitely haven't decided which I like better yet. . .

      The nice thing about the WA87 is that there are Nichicon capacitors on the circuit board. These are well respected capacitors.

    I have a completely untreated room. How much treatment do you need in a living room (bare walls) to make this work for voice over work?

    • @MintGreenAudio
      @MintGreenAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It takes a lot. I started by just hanging up blankets so that I was surrounded by them.

    • @MintGreenAudio
      @MintGreenAudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah... I think a lot of mics are just different with how much gain they require.

    Is anyone having a problem with hum when touching the microphone? I am running through an iD44 using gold Mogami XlR cables and when I touch it I get a loud hum even at low gain.
