Excellent work Jim, the cross member turned out really well. Your conversion is working out great, agree that it’s better than other one’s that you can buy.
i really admire people who set up cameras under cars...when i get in there i just want to do the job and enjoy being so close to the grease and grime knowing a ton of metal is over my head...like a little man cave in there... but to setup a camera would be one step too far for me... well done for going the extra mile as they would call it. love the cortina ...
Thanks Andy I appreciate that. I don't really think about how much steel is hanging above me! The problem I usually have with getting a camera underneath is that it normally needs to go exactly where I am at the time or worse I end up doing a load of filming to find it's mainly my crotch and a lot of swearing! 😅
good work bud,your crossmember is well over the normal ones you can buy,i have got a future engine and box change and i might have to make one so you have given me some idea of the challenge.
Thanks John! I looked at some of the shelf ones but they would need modifying so didn't make sense to spend all that money. Are you swapping the engine in Red or the hillman?
A future project I have at the side of my garage,its not red or Audrey the husky,it is a really well liked ford of the 70s,all being well I'll start it after these are cleared up.
Did this 25 years ago after putting many different engines in my mk Tina’s from cossie yb , V6 Essex, pinto, not in that order easy to do . 👍🏻

Thanks! I wanted to make something that would last a long time but also but some strength back into the leg I cut away for the gearbox.

Well done! Better looking than your average Classic Ford feature. Just a lick of paint, perhaps?
