@FinalFantasyUnion I see that you haven't covered the FF13 Trilogy PC Ports on the Xbox App. The Xbox App PC Versions of FF13 and FF13-2 were reworked to be more stable with no need for Mods to obtain playability like with the Steam Versions. If you want to play the FF13 Trilogy on PC in the best way possible, you'll definitely want the Xbox App Versions.
There are now as many years between us and the release of FF13 as there are between the release of FF13 and that of FF6. It's crazy to see how much graphics changed in those 15 years compared to the most recent 15 years.
Not a remake, not a remaster, it needs a "redo". They need to rework the interactivity of the first game, add more npcs and things to do like they did with 13-2. Somehow make some cities available as hubs (Nautilus, Palumpolum, maybe some parts of Eden at the end). And most importantly weave the lore into the game and not via its text menus. 13 has all the potential to be an amazing experience just like 10 was, it just needs some gameplay additions and tweaks, and story/staging revisions
I replayed xiii and xiii-2 recently and decided to not let myself be influenced by the negativity surrounding them and I have to say, they were not nearly as bad as I remembered them. started lightning returns just today, such timing!
I think 13 was a step backward for the series, but 13-2 improved on a lot and was a solid FF entry. Personally I think Lightning Returns is an underrated gem, not a masterpiece but a truly great game made with passion and imagination. I hope you enjoy it!
13 story was so good. Battle system loved it. Light Vanille and fang were amazing. Love 13 series. LR has the best mechanics and gameplay but story kinda fell off. But still awesome.
@@XRookSXhonestly I kinda like 13-2 battle system more than LR. I initially liked LR better but after replaying both games twice, I fell for 13-2 more. Maybe cause my favorite level in LR was the desert and Wildlands (because Fang/Odin are there so I don't feel lonely lmao)
Regarding the re-evaluation that 13 has gone through more recently, I think it's also worth taking into account, that the younger people whose first FF game was 13 are probably adults by now, and they can more adequately express themselves and make their appreciation of the trilogy known, which may also haved helped bring people to look at it again with fresh eyes.
Yeah this is definitely it I was 12 when XIII-2 came out and it was my first one. I absolutely love XIII and XIII-2. It took me a while to come around on XIII but during the COVID lockdowns I came to really appreciate it. XIII-2 is probably one of the most replay able and customisable JRPGS with really interesting combat, amazing visuals and a fantastic soundtrack, easily my favourite FF game.
@@ThwipThwipBoomI agree, it was extremely linear. I don't think all of the characters were boring though (except Hope and Snow) but a lot of characters definitely had potential with their personal stories, like Saiz and Fang/Vanille.
One of my favorite combat systems, I loved that every encounter in late game the potential to wipe you and swapping in and out of paradigms feels great. I also enjoyed the way you could manipulate the AI with stats to force characters to play how you want
I’m glad Xbox and PC players are able to play but I just want the trilogy on PS5. Insane it still hasn’t happened. A Zodiac Age-esque remaster with QoL features would do wonders, but at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if they just do another half baked port like how the PC ones turned out

I actually bought XIII and XIII-2 recently for my PS3 and visually this game has aged wonderfully (I'm currently going through the series from newest to oldest actually on XIII now) I do wish the game was a bit more accessible to people who want to try to experience this game.
FF XIII was my very first FF game I played and it made me fall in love with the series. I remember walking into Gamestop, seeing it on the used game shelf, and once I got up to the register the cashier was trying his best to "persuade" me into rethinking buying the game and I'm glad I ignored him. I played XIII & XIII-2 over and over again, but sadly never got to try Lightning returns. I don't have a PS3 anymore so if they released an HD trilogy I would 100% preorder I replay through them once again.
This game doesn’t even need a remaster, just port it! I haven’t played it since its initial release and the way I play games has changed a lot. I’d love to experience it again, especially because I never got to the ending, just grand pulse and I stopped playing once everything opened up haha felt burnt out at that point and clocked over 100 hrs by then

I would love to replay this game again but my PC can’t run it lol. I would love for newer generations to play this game, especially 13-2. Caius is definitely my favorite character in the entire trilogy and hearing his monologue near the end is heartbreaking. I still cry at the end of that game lol
Give it the Crisis Core treatment, same game but current Gen supported for engine and graphics with quality of life changes like - saving paradigm set ups for individual team configurations - Chapter select upon game completion - Skipping the first chapter for New Game+ since it’s largely story and basic combat tutorial
I’d play a remaster in a heartbeat. Same with a remake. Never got to experience the fullness of XIII-2 or Lightning Returns because PS3 support ended before I had time to play either.
The 13 trilogy games were my first FF home console games. I would like to see these remastered. The games still hold up well, but it would be nice to have some new life put in to it.
I want a remake over a remaster solely because they aren't going to retranslate the game for a remaster, but the amount of lore in the trilogy requires it, and the lack of precise translation is part of what lead to the story problems to begin with. So if they are willing to remake the trilogy in a unified package understanding it's a trilogy from the get-go (which they obviously couldn't have known at the beginning) and can build a cohesive throughline that can be translated to other languages without errors, I would be very happy.
I tried my best to appreciate this game. I just could not care about the cast or their struggle. Glad people love it tho, it has an awesome speedrun with a ton of on the fly mental math.
I Absolutely DEFINITELY want *Final Fantasy XIII* to be Completely Remastered. I Absolutely Love this Game SO much! The Characters, Bosses, the Soundtracks, the English Dub Voice Actors and Actresses, and even the FF Heroine and Villain: Claire/Lightning Farron and Caius Ballad. They have to Remastered *FFXIII* franchises, just like they did with the *FFVII* franchises
Final Fantasy 13 definitely needs a remaster and not a remake. Obviously a lot of the newer Final Fantasy fans have loved the new direction FF games have taken. The sort of open world/open combat slasher type. But for me, that’s not what 13 is. 13 is so unique because of its amazing paradigm shift battle system and it’s near perfect in my eyes. A remaster with enhanced graphics and maybe even extra gameplay mechanics/bosses would be amazing! Like how 10 remastered brought the Dark Aeons
I actually really loved the first half of XIII. I loved the structure, teaching you how to to play each of these character archetypes, before opening the toy box for you to mix it all up
I would love a 13 trilogy remaster. It’s the only mainline game I’m missing ff 11 aside. Nobody thought legend of dragoon would get remastered so I’m still hopefully 13 trilogy will someday maybe after the 7 remake trilogy finished.
I love the XIII trilogy and would love if it came to PS5 / Series X|S. Lightning Returns is my favorite in the series being able to go through that again would be nice.

Unfortunately, I had to toss out my old Xbox360 after it became impossible to read any disks and play my games due to the disc tray being broken and the console itself very old as well.

I would love to platinum the trilogy again. Maybe they can add some cut content too. I think 13 and 13-2 had a lot of those. As for LR Returns. It will be good if we can slightly change the ending and save Lumina. So what if she is a version of Lightning? I mean in Kingdom Hearts, half the roster are versions of Sora, we still saved all of them. Lumina was unique enough. Perhaps she could join Lightning and Serah as a younger sister after the ending. Dreaming aside, it would be nice to actually get the trilogy for Next Gen.
idk about 13-2 but FF13 doenst really have a lot they could add back in really since most of the stuff that was cut was put in 13-2 like Metal Gigantar or the Fal Ce in the 7th ark but I wouldn't mind seeing the last Tomato Trio and the Wulzitorise
FFXIII along with Bloodborne are the games ive been putting off a replay for so long now because i feel like an upgrade must be coming any day now! It burns!!
I love this trilogy and always replay FFXIII on my PS3. I got the platinum trophies for all 3 games. I would gladly do it again for a remaster or remake.
Of all the FF games, XIII deserves the remake treatment the most. It’s got a lot of great ideas but for whatever reason they just couldn’t piece them together to make a cohesive whole. The XIII lore being stuck in the main menu is the biggest travesty of the FF franchise, adding it to the main campaign should be priority number one for a hypothetical remake #freethelore

XIII was my favorite game of all time until the VII remake trilogy began, dethroning it. I still hold Lightning Returns’ battle system up as arguably the greatest battle system SE ever produced, too. That system was another beautiful evolution of ATB that kept each battle feeling fresh and tense.
Apparently it very likely has to do with crystal tool, which was used for the trilogy. Everyone I heard who works in the videogame industry says it's notoriously hard to work with and it's why they scrapped it. This might be why they answered that to Alex Moukala
As someone who is playing through the game for the first time and doing so on the PC, I can say the game still holds up tremendously well. Especially the characters, which I honestly feel look better than many of the models we are seeing in games today.
I've always had a soft spot for XIII and XIII-2. Never managed to get far in LR because I just can't deal with time limits in games 😅 I still remember going to the FFXIII launch event on Oxford Street and getting my limited edition signed by Yoshinori Kitase and Isamu Kamikokuryo. Still have it on my shelf! I also got the soundtrack signed by Hamauzu-san at... I think it was Final Symphony..? Either way, the soundtrack is so good.
This would be great, but im waiting for a remake of 6 with sakaguchi at the helm!! Keep all the story but add to it- how celes got to where she is at the point of the game, how terra was raised as an empirial officer, how kefka slowly went mad, how cid was involved before the game's events, and give cyan some more love because i love how a lot of the world of ruin is him completely losing his mind and picking up the pieces...NO annoying fetch quests or dumb mandatory mini games...such a good game already but so much more could be fleshed out of these characters with amazing stories.
"The Promise" is an incredible piece of game music, I find myself humming it with nostalgia. I loved the entire trilogy and would totally buy a remastered/remade version.
I actually started with some fantasy 13 back in third grade in this game is what got me into console gaming as well as RPG‘s and the fantasy genre as a whole
If it wasn't for the abysmal drop rates for monsters and materials it would be the perfect game. I had to kill a Tonberry 20 times to get him in my team 😂
@@Bueno_Y I’ve noticed that abysmal drop rates have crept into Japanese games, and I believe it was trying to capitalize off the gambling mechanic of Gacha games. I wish it would be eliminated forever. There was no reason I had an entire crew in ff13 donned with item find gear, getting 5 star rankings on shaolonggui’s and didn’t get ANYTHING to drop 9/10 times.
Personally I love the visuals of XIII so much, it gives me nostalgia for when I played it at a much younger age and generally for the games of the late 00s. The gameplay is also one of my favourites, a guilty pleasure of mine when others talk bad about it. I didn't really like most characters and some of the story beats/aesthetics but they don't ruin it for me. I even kind of wish we could revisit the ATB system from XIII, it's one of the games in the series that I felt like I clicked with the most. I would be the first to look forward to a remake and enjoy it like I did the original.
Love these games, would definitely buy a remaster. Never understood the hate behind these games especially when SE used a lot of element in future games that were loved.
I’ve been replaying the series on my steam deck where it runs fine enough. I’m on day 12 of lightning returns so I’m almost done playing through all and it’s been fun reliving the story.
I love the Final Fantasy 13 Trilogy to death, I’m 12 and I’ve loved ff for about a year now! ff13, 10, and 16, are though not the most loved final fantasies, but to me are my favorite. I’d love to see the trilogy be re-released or remade like ff7 since I don’t always wanna boot up my ps3 every day. I love the story, characters, scenery, and battle system. I wasn’t able to finish it though since the bosses were to hard, and I don’t always have the time to play since I have school and just sometimes need a break from video games. if they remastered it, they have to debuff monsters or make losing health slower. otherwise, I love final fantasy 13!
I wonder if the PS3's cell processor is a factor? Some many games are "trapped" on PS3 because devs say the cell processor is so unique and difficult to work on
@erikouwehand to be fair, the PC ports are pretty trash. They run very poorly. I have them all on PC, 13 runs at about 20fps constantly, 13-2 has worse framerate and crashes a lot. LR has a stable-ish framerate, but the controls feel very janky, like the mocap or physics got busted during the porting process. My PC has a Ryzen 3800x and an RX590. It should have been able to run those games flawlessly. But that does not mean that they can't fix those issues and do a proper port for new consoles, which I would love
That Nier Replicant ver.1-something remaster, which added an extra route was a welcome addition! sooooooo IF ever there's an FFXIII remaster I hope they add in what was cut like maybe make Lightning's house explorable, or that Zoo got cut and that unearthed Seventh Ark or those cut Fal'Cie like Diabolos, and Ramuh being a towering giant chilling on a mountain.
Final Fantasy is my favorite video game series, and I have every numbered title and spinoff currently available on PS5, I would love to have XIII back in my collection someday

A remaster is needed for FFXIII trilogy with some QoL here and there, though the game is probably one of the most forgiving mainline in the series. The game already looks pretty good, and I'm sure there is cut content they wanted to add but due to time constraints or other reasons they held back. Never forget that Nissan marketing with Lightning and Snow driving. 😂But yeah Lightning remastered would be wonderful.💚 They could add more mainline series theme schemas/outfits in lightning returns 😉
My instinctual answer is: It still looks better than a lot of games released a decade after. Though it would be nice to see a full compilation of all 13.... OR all the nova cristalis (like the Pixel Remasters bundle a couple of years ago).
XIII is my absolute fav next to VII and at the very least I NEED a Remaster to play on PS5 (whole Trilogy with all DLCs). But! If SE would seriously think about to make a whole Remake then I fucking take it and love them forevber for giving my 2 favs remakes!xD

A remaster would suffice, but hopefully a well thought and elaborated remaster. Not just something thrown out to make some sales however low they might be. Something that will not only fix all the issues of the current pc ports, but add improvements in any other way, whether graphically, gameplay wise, technical issues, etc
Played every FF proper and their spinoffs. I really enjoy and still replay them all. Would LOVE a 13 whatever long as its the entire series and its a shame that its only accessible vis XB store (if you bought it before the 360 store shut down), PS3, or the PC version that needs to be moded to play it today.
This was my first final fantasy and I loved it, been hoping for a remaster for years. My only hope with QoL features is letting us move our characters around in battle, it was pretty awkward avoiding AoEs
Everyone seems to forget that a 13 remastered trilogy popped up on the Xbox store several years ago, maybe 2017 or so? not available for pre-order or anything, or with a date, but there briefly was a page for it. for a couple minutes. Also I love 13-1 and think it deserves its place in the main series (I have nothing but vitriol for 2 and 3 though)
The 1st installment (XIII) doesn’t need a remake. It needs a remaster. The sequels (XIII-2 and LR) definitely need a remake. Especially with what happened to Vanille and Fang in the sequels. Their fate in XIII should stay as is.
I have such nostalgia for these games at the moment. I replayed 13 and 13-2 on the ps3 many years ago and they were lots of fun. But I never got play Lightning returns. have them wishlisted on steam but as a console player it never felt right playing them on PC. Zodiac Age was such a blast as well, so much planning and build theorycrafting in the community. tbh a ff13 remaster v remake doesnt matter much, any way to play on PS5 would be enough for me.
I think what also helped was that the whole ffxiii series was released on Xbox 360 as well, a platform where rpgs were few and far between. Nevermind you talked about it xd

I recently played the pixel remaster of FF6. It was so good and I can see why Chrono Trigger and FF6 are still rated as all time greats.
If you REALLY think about it, FF6 is peak FF, everything else just builds on it..

FF13 Trilogy is definitely one of my all time faves & replay it every 2ish years
The 13 trilogy games were my first FF home console games. I would like to see these remastered. The games still hold up well, but it would be nice to have some new life put in to it.
Love for them to do a remaster of Final Fantasy 13. Lightning is my 2nd favorite female character after Yuna from 10.
I want a remake over a remaster solely because they aren't going to retranslate the game for a remaster, but the amount of lore in the trilogy requires it, and the lack of precise translation is part of what lead to the story problems to begin with. So if they are willing to remake the trilogy in a unified package understanding it's a trilogy from the get-go (which they obviously couldn't have known at the beginning) and can build a cohesive throughline that can be translated to other languages without errors, I would be very happy.
I would love to see the Final Fantasy 13 games simply get the same treatment as the Mass Effect Trilogy Legendary Edition.
I tried my best to appreciate this game. I just could not care about the cast or their struggle. Glad people love it tho, it has an awesome speedrun with a ton of on the fly mental math.

I Absolutely DEFINITELY want *Final Fantasy XIII* to be Completely Remastered. I Absolutely Love this Game SO much! The Characters, Bosses, the Soundtracks, the English Dub Voice Actors and Actresses, and even the FF Heroine and Villain: Claire/Lightning Farron and Caius Ballad. They have to Remastered *FFXIII* franchises, just like they did with the *FFVII* franchises
Final Fantasy 13 definitely needs a remaster and not a remake. Obviously a lot of the newer Final Fantasy fans have loved the new direction FF games have taken. The sort of open world/open combat slasher type. But for me, that’s not what 13 is. 13 is so unique because of its amazing paradigm shift battle system and it’s near perfect in my eyes. A remaster with enhanced graphics and maybe even extra gameplay mechanics/bosses would be amazing! Like how 10 remastered brought the Dark Aeons
I actually really loved the first half of XIII. I loved the structure, teaching you how to to play each of these character archetypes, before opening the toy box for you to mix it all up
Yes the first half is superior, when you are actually forced to use all characters and have a clear goal.
The open world is just too much.
I would love a 13 trilogy remaster. It’s the only mainline game I’m missing ff 11 aside. Nobody thought legend of dragoon would get remastered so I’m still hopefully 13 trilogy will someday maybe after the 7 remake trilogy finished.
No need for a remake. Just give us a Remastered Trilogy with 4K 60 and some gameplay enhancements.
This is my favorite FFXIII trilogy hope they make a REMASTERED for all PLATFORMS.
I love the XIII trilogy and would love if it came to PS5 / Series X|S. Lightning Returns is my favorite in the series being able to go through that again would be nice.
The XIII trilogy is already available on Xbox. All 3 games are 4K with the last 2 also running at 60fps.
I'm not a big fan of 13, but Sunleth Waterscape and the battle theme are my favorites songs of all FF's.
I would absolutely love to replay this trilogy again with a remake/remaster!This series was my first experience with final fantasy games, so it will always have a special impact in my life. Unfortunately, I had to toss out my old Xbox360 after it became impossible to read any disks and play my games due to the disc tray being broken and the console itself very old as well.

i never played 13-2 or lightning returns. but I do have quite a fondness for 13 itself. I would definitely love a trilogy collection on ps5.
FF13-2 is more fun than the first game. Lightning Return is also fun too.
13 2 and 13 3 are amazing titles. Highly recommend

As for LR Returns. It will be good if we can slightly change the ending and save Lumina. So what if she is a version of Lightning? I mean in Kingdom Hearts, half the roster are versions of Sora, we still saved all of them. Lumina was unique enough. Perhaps she could join Lightning and Serah as a younger sister after the ending.
Dreaming aside, it would be nice to actually get the trilogy for Next Gen.
idk about 13-2 but FF13 doenst really have a lot they could add back in really since most of the stuff that was cut was put in 13-2 like Metal Gigantar or the Fal Ce in the 7th ark but I wouldn't mind seeing the last Tomato Trio and the Wulzitorise

I love this trilogy and always replay FFXIII on my PS3. I got the platinum trophies for all 3 games. I would gladly do it again for a remaster or remake.
The battle systems of each game, but especially Lightning Returns, are such bangers. I would like to experience them again with PS Remote Play.
Of all the FF games, XIII deserves the remake treatment the most. It’s got a lot of great ideas but for whatever reason they just couldn’t piece them together to make a cohesive whole. The XIII lore being stuck in the main menu is the biggest travesty of the FF franchise, adding it to the main campaign should be priority number one for a hypothetical remake #freethelore

XIII was my favorite game of all time until the VII remake trilogy began, dethroning it. I still hold Lightning Returns’ battle system up as arguably the greatest battle system SE ever produced, too. That system was another beautiful evolution of ATB that kept each battle feeling fresh and tense.
Apparently it very likely has to do with crystal tool, which was used for the trilogy. Everyone I heard who works in the videogame industry says it's notoriously hard to work with and it's why they scrapped it. This might be why they answered that to Alex Moukala
I want a remaster, NOT a remake.
As someone who is playing through the game for the first time and doing so on the PC, I can say the game still holds up tremendously well. Especially the characters, which I honestly feel look better than many of the models we are seeing in games today.

I've always had a soft spot for XIII and XIII-2. Never managed to get far in LR because I just can't deal with time limits in games 😅
I still remember going to the FFXIII launch event on Oxford Street and getting my limited edition signed by Yoshinori Kitase and Isamu Kamikokuryo. Still have it on my shelf! I also got the soundtrack signed by Hamauzu-san at... I think it was Final Symphony..? Either way, the soundtrack is so good.
This would be great, but im waiting for a remake of 6 with sakaguchi at the helm!! Keep all the story but add to it- how celes got to where she is at the point of the game, how terra was raised as an empirial officer, how kefka slowly went mad, how cid was involved before the game's events, and give cyan some more love because i love how a lot of the world of ruin is him completely losing his mind and picking up the pieces...NO annoying fetch quests or dumb mandatory mini games...such a good game already but so much more could be fleshed out of these characters with amazing stories.

"The Promise" is an incredible piece of game music, I find myself humming it with nostalgia. I loved the entire trilogy and would totally buy a remastered/remade version.
I actually started with some fantasy 13 back in third grade in this game is what got me into console gaming as well as RPG‘s and the fantasy genre as a whole

@@Bueno_Y I’ve noticed that abysmal drop rates have crept into Japanese games, and I believe it was trying to capitalize off the gambling mechanic of Gacha games. I wish it would be eliminated forever.
There was no reason I had an entire crew in ff13 donned with item find gear, getting 5 star rankings on shaolonggui’s and didn’t get ANYTHING to drop 9/10 times.

Personally I love the visuals of XIII so much, it gives me nostalgia for when I played it at a much younger age and generally for the games of the late 00s. The gameplay is also one of my favourites, a guilty pleasure of mine when others talk bad about it. I didn't really like most characters and some of the story beats/aesthetics but they don't ruin it for me. I even kind of wish we could revisit the ATB system from XIII, it's one of the games in the series that I felt like I clicked with the most. I would be the first to look forward to a remake and enjoy it like I did the original.

Love these games, would definitely buy a remaster. Never understood the hate behind these games especially when SE used a lot of element in future games that were loved.
I’ve been replaying the series on my steam deck where it runs fine enough. I’m on day 12 of lightning returns so I’m almost done playing through all and it’s been fun reliving the story.
I love the Final Fantasy 13 Trilogy to death, I’m 12 and I’ve loved ff for about a year now! ff13, 10, and 16, are though not the most loved final fantasies, but to me are my favorite. I’d love to see the trilogy be re-released or remade like ff7 since I don’t always wanna boot up my ps3 every day. I love the story, characters, scenery, and battle system. I wasn’t able to finish it though since the bosses were to hard, and I don’t always have the time to play since I have school and just sometimes need a break from video games. if they remastered it, they have to debuff monsters or make losing health slower. otherwise, I love final fantasy 13!
I wonder if the PS3's cell processor is a factor? Some many games are "trapped" on PS3 because devs say the cell processor is so unique and difficult to work on
What do you mean? The game is also present on PC? So that is X86 architecture, same as PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
@erikouwehand to be fair, the PC ports are pretty trash. They run very poorly. I have them all on PC, 13 runs at about 20fps constantly, 13-2 has worse framerate and crashes a lot. LR has a stable-ish framerate, but the controls feel very janky, like the mocap or physics got busted during the porting process. My PC has a Ryzen 3800x and an RX590. It should have been able to run those games flawlessly. But that does not mean that they can't fix those issues and do a proper port for new consoles, which I would love

That Nier Replicant ver.1-something remaster, which added an extra route was a welcome addition! sooooooo IF ever there's an FFXIII remaster I hope they add in what was cut like maybe make Lightning's house explorable, or that Zoo got cut and that unearthed Seventh Ark or those cut Fal'Cie like Diabolos, and Ramuh being a towering giant chilling on a mountain.

Final Fantasy is my favorite video game series, and I have every numbered title and spinoff currently available on PS5, I would love to have XIII back in my collection someday

A remaster is needed for FFXIII trilogy with some QoL here and there, though the game is probably one of the most forgiving mainline in the series. The game already looks pretty good, and I'm sure there is cut content they wanted to add but due to time constraints or other reasons they held back. Never forget that Nissan marketing with Lightning and Snow driving. 😂But yeah Lightning remastered would be wonderful.💚 They could add more mainline series theme schemas/outfits in lightning returns 😉

My instinctual answer is: It still looks better than a lot of games released a decade after.
Though it would be nice to see a full compilation of all 13.... OR all the nova cristalis (like the Pixel Remasters bundle a couple of years ago).

A remaster would suffice, but hopefully a well thought and elaborated remaster. Not just something thrown out to make some sales however low they might be. Something that will not only fix all the issues of the current pc ports, but add improvements in any other way, whether graphically, gameplay wise, technical issues, etc

I think the first two games are very underrated. They're full of problems, but they're just fun. I havent played Lightning Returns yet.
Played every FF proper and their spinoffs. I really enjoy and still replay them all. Would LOVE a 13 whatever long as its the entire series and its a shame that its only accessible vis XB store (if you bought it before the 360 store shut down), PS3, or the PC version that needs to be moded to play it today.
FXIII is my favorite FF game (having played them all) and i will defend it with my life. I couldnt be happier if SE had remastering plans.

This was my first final fantasy and I loved it, been hoping for a remaster for years. My only hope with QoL features is letting us move our characters around in battle, it was pretty awkward avoiding AoEs
Everyone seems to forget that a 13 remastered trilogy popped up on the Xbox store several years ago, maybe 2017 or so? not available for pre-order or anything, or with a date, but there briefly was a page for it. for a couple minutes.
Also I love 13-1 and think it deserves its place in the main series (I have nothing but vitriol for 2 and 3 though)
The 1st installment (XIII) doesn’t need a remake. It needs a remaster. The sequels (XIII-2 and LR) definitely need a remake. Especially with what happened to Vanille and Fang in the sequels. Their fate in XIII should stay as is.
I have such nostalgia for these games at the moment. I replayed 13 and 13-2 on the ps3 many years ago and they were lots of fun. But I never got play Lightning returns. have them wishlisted on steam but as a console player it never felt right playing them on PC. Zodiac Age was such a blast as well, so much planning and build theorycrafting in the community. tbh a ff13 remaster v remake doesnt matter much, any way to play on PS5 would be enough for me.
I think what also helped was that the whole ffxiii series was released on Xbox 360 as well, a platform where rpgs were few and far between.
