The world will freak out if FF XIII gets a Remake and not 6 or 8 or 9. I would love to see the Fabula Nova Crystallis being remade and completed this time.
9 Remake is in the works and should arrive sometime next year. Afaik SQ said, that 6 or 8 werent successfull enough to deserve a remake. So after 9 Remake, 13 seems very plausible
To be fair, only XIII and XV are the mainline Final Fantasy games outside the MMOs that haven’t been remastered or remade in any form. Also in terms of the Fabula Nova Crystallis, XIII's story was completed. Type-0 and if you want to count XV aren't completed.
This game needs the Persona 3 Reload treatment. make the combat more fun, fix the pacing issues, add all the cut content, and overall just improve the experience while providing the same story beats
And redo the English voice acting😭 I played FFXIII in Japanese, which was an excellent experience, but the English casting was so bad that I think it also made some players veer away from the trilogy...

@@RPGStory Yeah, I encourage everyone to do so. If you don't have a hard time reading subtitles and focusing on the scenes at the same time, you'll probably find the narratives much more immersive. In my experience, Japanese voice acting almost always brings out more emotions through the characters in any Japanese media. Voice acting is a very serious job in Japan, and they need years of studies and first-hand experience in differing fields of work behind them before getting assigned a bigger role. It's no wonder they're capable of delivering so many iconic lines!
Honestly, ff8 would be one of the better ones to remake as it is very flawed, especially the draw commands, while having a good story along with a great cast, leaving much room for change and improvements.IMHO

The game is going to be remade at some point. While yes they could remaster it, I think XIII had some pretty amazing cinematic scenes that would be done a great justice if remade/rebuilt for current gen. It would be one of best triple A visually appealing titles

It would be the best FF if it had the same battle system but with the improvements from 13-2. An expert crystarium, air ship that lets you return to chapters 1-10 which all have post game areas with optional content and quests that open up, towns with npcs along the way and the ability to switch between party members during battle. Also more emphasis on the villains like Jill, Roshe and Cid.
I’d appreciate a Crisis Core type remaster that adds in some quality of life improvements like being able to save Paradigm set-ups for when you change your party, a chapter replay option upon finishing the story and the choice to skip up to when the group first find themselves l’cie in replays like a NG+ thing. A glossary feature like FFXVI, where pausing has nodes that can be expanded to give some explanation for what something in the conversation means, would help to mitigate complaints about the world building not being too well incorporated into the main story.
I’m really trying to understand this mindset with remake rumors. When there’s a rumor about a remake, there’s always this comment. Saying one prefers a smaller scale/less ambitious remaster/texture swap kind of thing. Why? I mean it’s not like you’re the one working on the game. Why not demand the absolute most out of it? The visual design and audio design of this game are simply masterpieces! I really like this visual - a mixture of the Star Wars world with Japanese stuff) You can already play the remasters if you install mods from the Nexus for these games. I would like to see remakes with a completely redesigned game world. Make it more open and interactive. Make more exploration of the world and interesting hand-made side quests to further reveal the characters and world. Reading the in-game encyclopedia to understand the game universe is sooooo booooring! I would like to learn this directly through the gameplay! The game world has a lot of potential)
OK, everybody’s making a video about this because SE finally replied to a comment about This game needing a remaster and they said something along the lines of “why not a remake?” It blows my mind that they went that hard on it reply..😂 The only reason I would object to a full remake is if the voice actors for the English dub had to be changed, but they could make it more updated like between characters and fun stuff like that I’d be game for it-but the HD remaster for FFX was pretty bad so maybe a remake would look better as the very least ❤

I doubt it’s gonna be a 20 year wait like it was for FFVII because they have the best technology right now and our popping out games fairly quick right now with increasing development rates, more engines than ever with really nice enhancements to nearly everything.
Yeah that's the problem with a lot of big games these days they take too long to make but if the tools are there to streamline everything then I'd like to see them put out a remake and a new game in a cycle like what's happening with Resident Evil.
Yep I would be up for it, even giving it say the Crisis Core Reunion or NieR Replicant ver 122 treatment (a little logical, since I know some of the main staff from FF13 is currently dead set with the FF7R Trilogy)
I just replayed the first two, besides the first one being quite flawed but still enjoyable for the story I think they still hold up decently and find it unnecisary. Rather do 6, 8, 9 or 10 imho. Although they should hold off for 6 so the they can eventually do it with some future tech that will make it possible to make it fully remastered in 1 part, but that seems impossible.
Hopefully they are able to do a Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy treatment in terms of gameplay, story, and open world changes for all three games. After that I hope they remake V, X, X-2, XI, XII, and Revanant Wings in the same vein the Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy as well.
Yeah there's so much potential for remakes of mainline games and spin offs. Resident Evil seems to be in a flow of new games and remakes so I think FF could adopt a similar approach.

Would love to see a remake as i had fun with paradigms and crystariums. But what i hear is that crystal tools, the engine the game runs on, would be hard to translate to modern consoles. I would love to revisit gran pulse with real questlines, and the cut arks.
i think xiii2 had better gameplay, but wish it was like closer to lightning returns. I think it would get remastered than remake. Remake would be like all 3 games and change combat to be like Rebirth or similar at least
I actually went back to 12 with the remaster and enjoyed it a lot more now that you could speed it up it was painfully slow before I used to spend an entire weekend simply grinding 😭
i loved 13 an if it gets a remaster or a remake id be happy imagine 13 with remade modern graphics that game was ahead of its time interms of its cgi movies my only thing is i wouldnt want the modern combat style of 15 or 16 just a better turn based one

A trilogy remaster that actually works on pc would be nice, having to wait 4-5 years for one game is a pain, It would be more interesting if they revived Fortress instead although that would probably never happen.
@@RPGStory It was yeah, Basch was supposed to be the main character, and his role was to defend a fortress from hostile forces over the course of two ingame years and the most interesting thing about it is that there were going to be a fight against a giant malboro.

Honeslty id love a remaster like the ffX treatment, just give it a graphical boost with the quality of life updates it needs like character switching and not getting game over on character death. Dont change the battle system at all, the paradigm shift is the best part of the game and it would be ruined with a real time combat like new games.
I'm curious to see what they do with the combat from the rumoured IX remake if it'll stick to turn based or go all action I guess that'll indicate what they'll do for any future updates.
Remaking FF9 or FF6 is the best choice. FFXIII despite of being 15yo the graphics is not that old, and they spent so many years for that game. Instead, why not giving the old FF a chance to be modernize. Many fans doesn't bother for FFXIII to have a remake. Personally, I wish they remake FFT, or non-FF like Vagrant Story instead.

Remake is a bit strong, i mean Chrono Trigger, 6,8,9 and 19 (and why not 4) are more pressing concerns i think. a Remaster would be perfect, the Steam release of 13-2 and lightning returns is a mess, i would buy a PC version of the Trilogy on day one!

I played it and must say I wasn't disappointed but for the love of god it is MID!!! If they remake a single game starting with X before the ones with "I" or "V" then it will clearly just be a cash grab. FFX is my favorite, but honestly I'm setting my pride aside because I want to see the treachery of Kefka in 4K.

Nobody asked or wants a ff 13 remake. 4, 6, 8 and 9 are only ones that actually need it although you can argue for a tv series or anime style adaptation assuming you can do it justice. What fans really want is remake / remasters of the games that made Square the powerhouse it was in the 90s such as Xenogears, Parasite Eve, Vagrant Story, Chrono Trigger, etc.
No Remasters. Just Remakes. Why take a game with original/old graphics to modern consoles? I refused to play FFX and FFX-2 after I bought FF 10 Remastered on modern consoles the graphics look like Super Nintendo.
It would be wasted. The story is bunk-- the characters weak and not memorable beyond surface level and there are too many other better suited options well ahead of FF13 to potentially consider and throw manpower from a business perspective. FF13 was a game that already got 3 games to its name, which meant it had 2 additional attempts to rework and fix all its mistakes every time they put forth a game. In many ways, FF13 was the nail in the coffin game that put Final Fantasy in the backseat and marks a downfall for the entire franchise. To focus on it would be a mistake. To be honest, the people who are true fans of FF13 are contrarians and people who are more or less antithetical to Final Fantasy as a whole by all metrics and accounts.
Yeah I'm under no illusion that XIII is deeply flawed. If they remake it it would need a complete rework which itself would make it an entire new game anyway.
It got three games precisely because it was so popular. Remember; Square Enix is originally a Japanese studio, and most of their games do much better in Japan due to the lack of American-type mindsets and the better cultural affinity there.
I would not recommend this remake. The characters are unlikable. The storyline was not interesting. The transformer-like summons were terrible. In this instance, less is more...
Incredible? Final Fantasy 13 was incredibly TERRIBLE!! The second game's only good part was the casino side quest area. I thought I would never despise a Final Fantasy game besides Final Fantasy 2 and Dirge of Cerberus so much. Square better square things up and not re-release this game if it remains a total flea bag like the original, but then again, Lightning sometimes does strike the same place twice.
I do not think the ffxiii deserve a remake at all. FFVIII should be given a chance. Remember that the ff7 was one of the best game of all time back in the days and ff8 and 9 also pushed the limit of our gaming standards. Yes, the junction system was definitely not very popular but it's because it was a very difficult system to set and not everyone was capable of grasping the system easily. I believe the IP deserve a chance with a redesigned junction system.
Yeah FFVIII definitely deserves another chance in the limelight. If rumours are true then it seems they have skipped it and are going to do IX and possibly even X or X-3.

The story does make sense if you pay attention. I played this game for the first time when I was 16 and was STILL able to comprehend it. As for the hallway complaint, I’ve never gotten this. Should the game be a bland, lifeless open world game with nothing but empty space and running errands for NPC’s? Would that be better? They did that with XV and it sucked.

I actually never thought about a smaller scale remake like Crisis Core I suppose that could work and get the game out quicker as well.

Id prefer to see a 10 remake, but I'm not opposed to it, it's the only one I've never played but I got to see it 2nd hand

i think xiii2 had better gameplay, but wish it was like closer to lightning returns. I think it would get remastered than remake. Remake would be like all 3 games and change combat to be like Rebirth or similar at least
Yeah the rebirth system is the perfect match of action and strategy I think it would work really well.

A trilogy remaster that actually works on pc would be nice, having to wait 4-5 years for one game is a pain, It would be more interesting if they revived Fortress instead although that would probably never happen.

I personally enjoyed FF 13, especially 13-2. Lightning returns was, eh, but still good for at least one playthrough.
I’d be super happy with a remake or remaster but my one fear about a remake is not having Ali Hillis reprise her role as Lightning.

As biggest fan of Final Fantasy XIII. I very happy they bringing back Final Fantasy XIII Saga love. But i think it's better if they make remaster. Don't get me wrong,but i very worried about their decision making remake of FFXIII. It's just what if they change something or plot. Or Most worst of all...for me. They gonna change English Voices Actors. We know Japanese Voice Actors will stay and continue their roles. But it's just look for example FFVII Remake...They change their English voices actors and making me sad and miss old voice actors because they was doimg good job. Honeslty id love a remaster like the ffX treatment, just give it a graphical boost with the quality of life updates it needs like character switching and not getting game over on character death. Dont change the battle system at all, the paradigm shift is the best part of the game and it would be ruined with a real time combat like new games.
I'm curious to see what they do with the combat from the rumoured IX remake if it'll stick to turn based or go all action I guess that'll indicate what they'll do for any future updates.

Remaking FF9 or FF6 is the best choice. FFXIII despite of being 15yo the graphics is not that old, and they spent so many years for that game. Instead, why not giving the old FF a chance to be modernize. Many fans doesn't bother for FFXIII to have a remake. Personally, I wish they remake FFT, or non-FF like Vagrant Story instead.
Considering all FF remakes are just action RPGs now, no thanks. There's no creativity or originality anymore, just old things remade endlessly.
Hopefully they test turn based with the rumoured IX remake and if it's a success they can do that style again confidently.

Remake is a bit strong, i mean Chrono Trigger, 6,8,9 and 19 (and why not 4) are more pressing concerns i think. a Remaster would be perfect, the Steam release of 13-2 and lightning returns is a mess, i would buy a PC version of the Trilogy on day one!
A remastered trilogy would make the most sense and less work for them whilst they can prioritise remaking some more beloved entries

I played it and must say I wasn't disappointed but for the love of god it is MID!!! If they remake a single game starting with X before the ones with "I" or "V" then it will clearly just be a cash grab. FFX is my favorite, but honestly I'm setting my pride aside because I want to see the treachery of Kefka in 4K.

Nobody asked or wants a ff 13 remake. 4, 6, 8 and 9 are only ones that actually need it although you can argue for a tv series or anime style adaptation assuming you can do it justice. What fans really want is remake / remasters of the games that made Square the powerhouse it was in the 90s such as Xenogears, Parasite Eve, Vagrant Story, Chrono Trigger, etc.
Their back catalogue outside of FF is also ripe for the remake treatment they've got a lot of options to play around with.

It would be wasted. The story is bunk-- the characters weak and not memorable beyond surface level and there are too many other better suited options well ahead of FF13 to potentially consider and throw manpower from a business perspective. FF13 was a game that already got 3 games to its name, which meant it had 2 additional attempts to rework and fix all its mistakes every time they put forth a game. In many ways, FF13 was the nail in the coffin game that put Final Fantasy in the backseat and marks a downfall for the entire franchise. To focus on it would be a mistake. To be honest, the people who are true fans of FF13 are contrarians and people who are more or less antithetical to Final Fantasy as a whole by all metrics and accounts.
Yeah I'm under no illusion that XIII is deeply flawed. If they remake it it would need a complete rework which itself would make it an entire new game anyway.
It got three games precisely because it was so popular. Remember; Square Enix is originally a Japanese studio, and most of their games do much better in Japan due to the lack of American-type mindsets and the better cultural affinity there.
This FF game had one of the most boring and confusing story and of course annoying companions.
Yeah it had too many terms and rules to get your head around. I only really liked lightning, snow, and fang.
I would not recommend this remake. The characters are unlikable. The storyline was not interesting. The transformer-like summons were terrible. In this instance, less is more...

Incredible? Final Fantasy 13 was incredibly TERRIBLE!! The second game's only good part was the casino side quest area. I thought I would never despise a Final Fantasy game besides Final Fantasy 2 and Dirge of Cerberus so much. Square better square things up and not re-release this game if it remains a total flea bag like the original, but then again, Lightning sometimes does strike the same place twice.

I do not think the ffxiii deserve a remake at all. FFVIII should be given a chance. Remember that the ff7 was one of the best game of all time back in the days and ff8 and 9 also pushed the limit of our gaming standards. Yes, the junction system was definitely not very popular but it's because it was a very difficult system to set and not everyone was capable of grasping the system easily. I believe the IP deserve a chance with a redesigned junction system.
Yeah FFVIII definitely deserves another chance in the limelight. If rumours are true then it seems they have skipped it and are going to do IX and possibly even X or X-3.

The story does make sense if you pay attention. I played this game for the first time when I was 16 and was STILL able to comprehend it. As for the hallway complaint, I’ve never gotten this. Should the game be a bland, lifeless open world game with nothing but empty space and running errands for NPC’s? Would that be better? They did that with XV and it sucked.
