I actually just got into Pokémon and got all the staples for my deck and the rest of the cards for all under $40 total. I wish TCG could follow suit as OCG where staples are printed in low rarity and high rarity in core sets
Sadly they won't because the TCG is where they make most of their money, the OCG is more of a testing ground to see what cards should get what slots in order to maximize the saleability of their product.
I was actually thinking about this not that long ago. Would be great in the community. Bigger sets but you get everything in different rarities.

@@BloodsCaress it’s honestly pretty stupid, the OCG gets rarity’s and special sets that we don’t get here. If they were the testing ground then why are we not getting the same products??
@The Reaper Man The OCG is the testing ground lol not the TCG. That's why they get all the special rarities, etc. They use that to see what the TCG thinks and then goes off of that. We are the market to them.
@The Reaper Man I should reiterate. We get most of the same product but also product they don't get. The thing about the OCG is a set can be released with cards of multiple rarities giving equal access to pulling a card. Just with the chance of a higher rarity. It's like how they do starlights that are also other rarities in the set except with a lot more cards, typically better ones and aren't nearly as hard to pull as a starlight. Konami figures out what cards people like and give those cards the highest rarity here in the TCG. It's because we are the secondary market to them. Just as singles are a secondary market to sealed. Everything in the OCG is because of "testing" in the OCG. They don't really care about rarity over there like we do

Nope. Yugioh cards rarity is ugly. Just a bit of foil. Pokemon full arts look better. I prefer the yugioh game. But prefer the pokemon rarity

And when it is finally your turn, they Will Just rain negates on you, on literally everything, spells, traps, and even summoning.
I know that every card game has a "meta" or Power creep, however, the difference between yugioh and others, is the resource management, in yugioh, what you can call resource is actually Just a funni way to say
"Hey look at me, I send to the GY tis card, and now i Win the duel due to its effect after being sent to the graveyard :)"
I haven't played other card games but i know for a matter of fact, that in others such as MTG, resource management is important, a misplay can cost you the game.

Pokémon will always outsell yu gi oh when it comes to overall pack value. However I’ll stick to my yu go oh cards. It’s more significant to me now that I’m older

Love both since childhood, but never got into battling in Pokémon just collecting them. Yugioh I played extensively 15 years ago. I wish I kept all my base, jungle and fossil sets 1st editions :-(

Literally stopped buying sealed product for Yu-Gi-Oh because Pokemon was leaps and bounds better I would rather not pay $70 for a booster box only to get less than 20 bucks etbs in Pokemon had me running laps around Yu-Gi-Oh boxes

Meanwhile over here in the Netherlands, single packs are equally priced between Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh. Heck, a pack of normal Yu-Gi-Oh is 5 bucks and a pokemon pack 6. However, we have less Yu-Gi-Oh retailers and are lucky if we find a set at all.

For me Pokémon was just easier to sell because well kids love pokemon, while my yugioh cards gained more value over time due to adults telling me to hold on to your yugioh cards.

It’s yugioh. Can’t find them anywhere. But Pokémon are always left stocked. I went to target, Walmart and GameStop as well as my local dollar general and no yugioh at all :(
my local stores usually have the worst packs and boxes when they have anything. that's one of the reasons I started buying online. and I do buy singles too unless it's like a 100 dollar plus card.
