When in doubt use the weapon you got in the dungeon. You gotta smash the armor on this dude's face with your hammer. Get right up there and smash it. Also yeah with the statue just remember if you see a giant eye... shoot it, that's a Zelda rule.
Absolutely 100% on both of these. One thing to add is you can also bomb the boss' armor if you're low on health and don't want to risk getting too close with the hammer.
An important thing to remember is that the item in a dungeon is there for a reason. It's not just to get through puzzles, they're really handy in combat too. Also once you finish this dungeon, don't forget you still have something unfinished at the icy-looking cave in the southeast corner of the map!
Now that you got the hammer, you can use it on the Helmasaur King (The Big Boss) here to crack the mask off. Bombs can crack the mask off if you're not comfortable with using the Hammer to do it. Then he's vulnerable to Swords and more importantly Arrows so you can stay away from the Fireballs and be on a better look out for the Tail Swipe. If you want Extra Lives, get Fairies by sprinkling the Magic Powder on the skull with fire spinning around them. (They're called Anti-Fairies or Fire Fairies on some guides) and then sweep into a free Bottle with your net. If you want another Bottle. You can get one by going back to the Light World near the Bridge that goes over a river separating Lake Hylia from the Hyrule Castle moat. Swim under said bridge in the Light World and you'll meet someone there. (Hint: This bridge is near your house in case you're still wondering where it is) PS: If you got the bottle I mentioned already there is another in the back of the Kakariko Bar. Try pushing into the back of the bar from the north.
The dungeon layout loop from now on practically is: Lobby; main/central room; branching paths. In the dungeons now, if you get an item from the big chest, use it right away to solve puzzles and fight in the dungeon. If you get stuck and the dungeon item doesn't work, cycle through using ALL of the items until you find a solution. You play this game weird😅, but its a testament to how it was developed, to show that different approaches and routes can work in this game so its a good thing. Also, I kind of saw the Helmasaur King ass kicking was coming😅😂. He's a pretty tough boss sometimes, so don't be afraid to go right in and be aggressive. Also also, Ill say again, the enemies will only get harder from here on out. Seriously be prepared to be hit HARD!
I felt your frustration at 24:11, lol. You had me talking to my screen Jahara. I was like no Jahara use the arrows the arrows, lol. Congratulations on finding that out with no help. Also, at 26:15 i thought you had a key too. You are still good but the Jahara panic kicks in. You are right with the bomb. You have to blow the mask off the face. You're still doing great with your playthrough.
Helpful tip, you can hold the charge on your sword while also using an item. So while you hold your sword charged, you can also use your hammer, bow, etc. it’s helpful if you have to stand a certain direction and use the item repeatedly.
Keep going!!! Like others mentioned use the hammer against the boss. But yeah gotta agree Link to the Past without a guide or even with one can be a tough game
Others have said that you have to hit the boss with the hammer; do it on the helmet. Quite a few will be needed to completely destroy his helmet. After that you *can* use the hammer, but it's tough to time. Use the sword after that. Love the video!
You should go full on MC Hammer on the Boss's mask. Do it enough, and you will will be able to tell the boss "YOU CAN'T TOUCH THIS!" Remember you're "2 legit 2 quit" and once you "Turn This Mutha Out:" you can "Keep On".....Ok I will stop with the MC Hammer puns
Don't worry too much about getting stuck in the last episode- some of these Dungeons are TRICKY! Especially for your first time playing the game. You're doing great! 😁
You kids have it easy, you and your suspend points! Back in my day we didn't have those fancy suspend points. We had to do stuff the hard way like walking up hills both ways to school and back
So early on, those little dudes by the entrance that you can't hit from front are mini versions of this boss dude. Check what happens when they get hit with a bomb or Hammer. This game really insists on using the dungeon item you get on bosses quite frequently.
Everyone gave great tips, but I just want to let you know, Zelda dungeons are notoriously challenging, so if you were wondering if it was just you, don't worry, we've all been there. It's not a Zelda game experience if you don't miss an "obvious" clue and run in circles for awhile lol.
This actually makes me feel so much better. I think always streaming (filming) my gameplay increases my performance anxiety lol so I start to stress really badly when I have to go back and forth out of confusion. I appreciate the reassurance
OH Geeee... I wonder if the item you find in the dungeon might have something to do with defeating the boss of the dungeon... the world may never know.
@@JaharaJaydeGames lol! The items in dungeons most often easily destroys the enemies and bosses of that dungeon. It's a common Zelda theme that happens in every Zelda game. Good job so far. I really don't mind watching you rack your brain trying to figure out puzzles. Sorry for leaving such a sarcastic comment. But yeah Link to the past and Super Metroid are probably the two games I've played from beginning to end the most.
Wow you really are getting frustrated, and yeah this game is hard, but I guarantee you've already developed alot of skill If you need to proof or just a quick way to see how much your skill in this game has developed, do a quick jaunt through the beginning, just up till the sanctuary Other than that, yeah, hammer or bomb his mask off, then just sword or arrow his weak spot, you'll know it when you see it I believe in you, I've played through this game multiple times, and am loving watching someone go through this for the first time, just seeing the excitement and wonder, and even learning a few new things like the Magic Powder on the 'Anti-Faeries' But hey, if you need to put it down for a while, do that, these old games can take their toll on you, I should know I grew up with a NES

Your the third person to mention that cave! I figured it would be a random item but now I feel like I’ve missed something huge lol imma go back now
We all struggled. You got this

I almost lost it when she highlighted the bow for a second then moved to the boomerang.

Oooh ok!! I’ll try this next time I play
Keep going!!! Like others mentioned use the hammer against the boss. But yeah gotta agree Link to the Past without a guide or even with one can be a tough game
You're doing great, Jahara! Don't worry, the dungeons in the dark world gave me trouble my first time through as well.

No lol no please continue. This was the best way to explain battle mechanics lol
Amazing 🎉🎉
it is funny that you thought of the bombs, this is the only boss where bombs do actually help and they are one of the ways you can break the mask
Don't worry too much about getting stuck in the last episode- some of these Dungeons are TRICKY! Especially for your first time playing the game. You're doing great! 😁
Thank you 😭

Lol this comment made me wheeze laugh 😂 thank you

33:32 He's definitely one of the harder bosses in the game.
Finally getting around to it!
I hope you find the pond of happiness soon

I get the feeling youve played this game a lot lol
