- Really special 1961 flh. Same family since new till I got it Entire driveline restored, all factory and original. Cases match, no welds or repairs EVER. 20k miles before restoration. Bike is stunning

Man 1961 that was the year I was born. I remember seeing these bikes as a kid in the mid-70s.
Most born in '61 are still 61
This is a twin of my 62. It’s original except for the seat (still has the pogo stick). I have the wider floorboards and a three light dash. It’s a cold bitch when the temp drops below 40 And kicking that thing has a habit of kicking back. I’m the third owner. The first had it 2 months and blew out his knee . The second owner had it for 14 years and then sold it to me in 76. I still have it and it’s in semi retirement . The wife is a little upset because I told her I want it to be buried with me , and her famous words were We’ll see . I have eight bikes and this one is still my favorite. Just wish it had a electric starter.
Have the same 1961, regrettably without a Pan fitted, S and S Evo. Yours is great, lovely tick over too! UK.

God almighty, I get hard just listening to that idle. I just bought an absolutely gorgeous and exceptionally capable Heritage Softail Special, and it's a joy on every level, but this pan is quite simply my personal Holy Grail. Do whatever you must, but don't sell it, man! It'll just end up gathering dust in some wealthy asshole's collection, some clown who probably rarely even rides, and that is a crime against humanity. This lovely, sexy, glorious machine deserves to be shared with the world. Wow. Just wow. I'm dyin' here!!!

I am actually inthe process. I’ve never bothered because all the bikes I sell, they sell so easily on TH-cam or eBay it’s almost pointless.
Is that original paint? And is that the original primary cover?
@@kinglingley guess that means original, I asked because paint looks great really fresh. Must of been stored really well.
I didn’t mean to send that to your comment it was meant for some other rude one someone left. The bike has been restored but they used all the factory parts that came on the bike. It’s repainted correctly.

Not leaking? Must be broke. Total loss system thru the primary. Unless,....it was converted to belt drive 🤔 And yes, I own a 61
Ok total loss system? You’re misusing that term which is for bikes that DONT circulate oil. These bikes SUMP and the breather lubricates the primary chain. The excess drops on the ground. NOT total loss. Nice job trying to be smart but didn’t work out so hot for ya.
