The onion trick really works wonders! I have done it several times already and it has always helped me. The only thing I do differently is instead of heating it up I cut it into small pieces and fill it into a sock/stocking, and then place it onto my ear.

A way I relieve water being stuck in my ears is dropping a 50/50 mix of white distilled vinegar and isopropyl alcohol in my ears. Wait a little bit then tip to drain it out. It displaces the water in your ears and provides relief. It's great for me since I've always been prone to this.

Thank you so much for your video. The onion is really helpful, even when you have an otitis media. But I didn't know that red onions are more helpful than the white ones. We put the warm onion into an old sock (of course a washed one) and fix the little sachet with a scarf or a headband. It's comfortable and relaxing, even for children.
The massage of the ears while opening and closing the mouth is helpful as well.

Thank you. Gretyi know. Ive known about the value of red onion as far as health but not about this use. Although I've been aware that one can put cut onion at bottom of feet to draw out impurities. Thank you for all you do to help us for free with such fantastic chiropractor tips with demonstrations. I'm pretty sure that any effect from this process is coming from the heat, and not from any chemicals in the onion. Under what mechanism do you believe those anti-bacterial or anti-inflammatory chemicals are getting into the ear itself?

I remember when we were told that things put on our skin didn't have any effect internally. We now know that isn't true. If people have been using this method for generations there must be something to it. Maybe more research needed but not much money to be made by finding out that it works.

My mom used to heat up big vidalia onions in the oven and cut them in half and put each half in a big tube sock. She then tied the socks so that each warm onion was right over each ear and that helped relieve earache pain. Also side note, after I stopped drinking cows milk I never har an earache again.

I bake a big yellow onion at 300 degree F for 15mn or 20mn, not cooked. As long as it get hot and soft, it is ok. Take onion out of oven. Cool it little bit. Cut in half horizontally. Place the warn half onion against the ear, cut side agajns the ear so that the fume get into the ear. You can hold a towel on the onion to keep it warm longer on the ear. I do both ears because this remedie will suck out wax also. If you have too much wax inside the ears, it will come out. Use your pinky to take the wax out. The pain will go away also. If not, do again 4 hours later. Leave the onion on ears for at least half hour, or until onion is no more warm.

I have been suffering greatly from ear pain. The stretching exercises I tried provided only minor relief, while the other exercises I attempted had no effect.
After reading some comments, I decided to try using an onion. I took a half-cut onion from the fridge that had been there for a few days. I did not heat it, put it in a sock, or put it in a sock; I just placed the onion on my ear and left it there for approximately 2 minutes. This did help alleviate the pain. I then put the onion on my other ear, which provided relief there as well. It's not a cure, but it did help.
I wondered if it was the cold or the onion, so I put a cold can on my ear, and it did help, but not as much as the cold onion.
I hope this is of help to people here, and I would like to hear other people's comments on this, too.

If you have a sore throat cut a piece and wrap it around a bandana and tie it around your neck (at night).
