Many thanks for this! I am hardly confident when it comes to DIY, but thanks to you I understood the problem and managed to replace the valve (no instruction included with the replacement valve either, they seem to assume that everyone who does this is a trained plumber...). A lot of other DIY films on youtube assume you want to replace your whole radiator and don't focus on this part. It's not complex per se but it is when you have to find out what the issue is in the first place. Many thanks for your clear instructions!

I have a very similar issue, and assumed it was as simple to change as you show, but I'm glad to have seen physical evidence that it works the way I thought it would. Brilliant!

Thanks so much for this! was wondering how the pin would fit into the hole as the new replacement seemed to be blocked! saved me a call out.

This is great thanks. The radiator will take a while to cool down though so hold on tight.

Did the same thing as you, easy and quick, the question remains, why did they broke? Mine lasted no more than 5 yrs...
    Later, thx

    Hi
We gave the same valve but it is leaking. Would we have to replace the head or should we tighten the existing one? Thanks

      Personally, I would get a new valve ( again, I am not a plumber, however , I will get a new )

  • @aphoenixborn394

The valves are poor they all go in the end some very soon after fitting..they are/were on the rt212 but they have updated version that does away with all that insert. Lets face it very very rarely do any other brand valves fail this way

I agree with you, this one will last long as I don’t turn this on on often due to heating cost.
